@Scinlao A Star Destroyer is equipped with mostly long-range sensors, and they are not suitable for detection of targets very close to the hull. Just because they're not designed to detect ships at such short ranges doesn't make them inferior. They are long-range sensors and nothing more, period. And if Star Trek sensors are so superior, why have they failed many times to detect ships that are only hours away at sub-light speeds, and even failed to penetrate a few meters of common minerals?
@Scinlao That's relative. A small cloak that can hide a shuttle in Star Trek from sensors might not be strong enough to hide it from Star Wars sensors, which means that it would have to increase in size and power consumtion to might be able to hide. The only reason that the Falcon might be considered a too small ship for a SW cloaking device is perhaps that it can't produce the power needed for a strong enough field to hide from more powerful sensors.

1. Very unstable. Slightest touch to normal matter and you will be turned into vapour in a millisecond.
2. Expencive and slow to create. It cost vast amounts of money and time today to even create the most minuscule amount of it. The funny thing is that it require more energy to make it than you would get from it, and you will still loose 50% of the energy generated by antimatter thanks to neutrino convertion.
@Scinlao It should be easy to use mirrors and lenses to focuse a laser beam (that would hardly cost power) since we use it today. The problem with plasma is that you would have to find a containment field for it, and once you have the containment field it might be far more effective than the plasma itself.

Scientist might accept the consept of warp drive as possible but they would most likely say that we could never realistically be able to create one anyway. I,m just saying.

The thing about weapon power levels are, they're meaningless really because the technology is different. SW uses lasers which are directed energy beams, ST uses Phasers which are phased energy beams. The phased energy is necessary for damaging the enterprises shielding, directed energy won't even damage navigational shielding, so it's no contest really.

Star Wars fighters are designed to fight with some efficiency in such a strong ECM filled environment that pretty much all of their sensors have been rendered useless( they did it during the battle of the first Death Star). A Quantum/Photon torpedo would have serious trouble to hit even one fighter.

Star Trek is hardly scientifically accurate. And even if it was it still doesn't disprove that the Empire is faster thus more advanced in its propulsion.

@Scinlao If the Federation is more advanced then the Empire, then why can't they travel through their entire galaxy in hours, why can't they build moon sized battle stations in months, why can't they have instant communication across thousands of light years etc. The Federation is primitive in every technological way possible (except transporters as the Empire doesn't have them). Speed, material science, firepower, shields, construction technology, communication, you name it. Think about that.

@thelyniezian Older style weaponry and Ion Weapons are based off of Plasma weapons.
The DC-15 Blaster Rifle used by clone troopers were plasma based.
Stormtrooper E11 Blaster Rifles are particle based.
Hope that clears it up a bit.

Tractor beam would tear the fighters apart.
The thing about weapon power levels are, they're meaningless really because the technology is different. SW uses lasers which are directed energy beams, ST uses Phasers which are phased energy beams. The phased energy is necessary for damaging the enterprises shielding, directed energy won't even damage navigational shielding, so it's no contest really.

@onlypeaceindeath Doesn't matter xD Particle Phasers could drain the significantly lower class shields of the small fighters. And Btw, when the Enterprise targets an enemy, the photon or quantum torpedoes should track and follow them.

@RCian2000 Wouldn't work because of the insane amount of jamming "all" Star Wars combat crafts produces.
Star Wars fighters are designed to fight with some efficiency in such a strong ECM filled environment that pretty much all of their sensors have been rendered useless( they did it during the battle of the first Death Star). A Quantum/Photon torpedo would have serious trouble to hit even one fighter.
