Tim Conway is in a league of his own. First saw him in McHale's Navy, but I believe he didn't start to soar until he was given the chance to be the lead, per the Carol Burnett Show. For this one skit, maybe consider a different one as best of all time. Performed by a Danish classical pianist turned comedian named Victor Borge. His son is the age-turner in the video. See "page turner" by him. I was lucky enough to see this man live in a tiny venue in southern Ca.
This was from one of at least three "Carol Burnett Show" episodes taped outside of Studio 33 of CBS Television City in Hollywood. Another edition was produced out of England in 1970 at the BBC; and in early 1971, Carol and the cast did a show from the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York (or as series regular/announcer Lyle Waggoner put it on that show, "From Broadway in New York City"), where she'd made her name on "The Garry Moore Show" in the late 1950's.
I know, poor Harvey, I loved them all thank Jesus for such innocent entertainment, that the stuff that is on television now? You can't even sit down and watch with your mom without blushing; and sending the children out the room! Tim and Missus a-Wiggins! lol
Did you see the strength he had when he slowly climbed over the railing to the conductor's podium? This dude had some serious stomach muscles. What a talent!
I love this!! someone please let me know if this dvd is available to buy. I remember this special as having Edward Villella and Lucette Aldous dancing with Carol Burnett as the cleaning lady in a very funny Dance skit on Swan Lake...Thanks for any info
