In my children's school, all religions are recognized and respected. The schools are closed for Christmas and Easter and Rosh Hashana as well. If there were a large enough Muslim population which would be absent on the EIDs (one at the end of Ramadan)the schools would close for that as well. This is right here in the suburbs of Midwest/Northeast - Cleveland,OH. No one feels threatened are impossed upon. Shaker Heights - a model community.

I think it was jusy one parents asking if the school could celebrate Ramadan and Eid which are Islam events. Unfortunately people spread that muslims were demanding a ban on chrismas and all other events. As usual most people probabl never heard the simple truth and will add this false notion about muslims to their previous misconceptions. anyway take care.
