just wondering do you connect the ac from plug outlet to the capacitor then from capacitor to the bridge rectifier and then to battery? do you not need to step down the voltage with a transformer?

I use similar charger but instead a capacitor before the batery use a 100W bulb after the battery. It charges a 10AH 12V bat.
I try yesterday with 20uf 320v cap, in series with the bat, but not charge!...will try with a 50uf cap. Tkx for share
