@IronHorsez88 See, dork, the gel fuel is concentrating the energy and making it last longer. Whereas, with just burning alcohol in a can will burn out way quicker; with far less BTUs. Plus, you should learn to spell: "ALCHOHOL"? Last time that I knew, it was spelled: "alcohol"!
Not sure if this question had been answered already: From what I can see at about 27-29 seconds in the video the tablets you are using have a brown coating. Many tablet coatings contain polymers and plasticizers that, if not removed, will causea a "sludge" to form. I had the same problem, I got around it by cracking the pills and peeling away the coating before grinding the tablet to a powder. Still, lab grade reagents work better (obviously).
dude when you add the mixture to the alcohol you have to add it very slowly and mix it. Mix it a lot. Just keep adding small bit and then mixing it thoroughly until you have the gel.
You want it to work even better? Then use denatured alcohol instead.

no the sludge won't burn, the sludge is a mix of calcium acetate and sugars from the tablets. the goop/jelly from the second method however does burn
