@proleming If you made the video, if you own the rights to the video then you can do a copyright claim against them. If they get three of those they will shut down their Youtube account. But if you claim that you own something that you don't there's a good chance you will get a strike against your Youtube channel. Let me know if you file a claim and how it turns out.

@Gimmeaflakeman I agree and I had not thought about it in those terms, it's not our normal feel good video, but I feel a lot of people related to it. Our goal is to put our a new demo video in the near future, but my old video camera just broke so I have a ton of footage to go through and a video camera that will not charge properly. When I visit someone's channel, I think of myself as a guest. I use the same good manners as I wish my guests to use when visiting me. As far as cencorship is concerned; with privilege comes some responsibility. If the rules in your house are, no bigoted or profane language, that is reasonable

It happens to me while using Chrome, and only in this account. I cant like videos, reply messages, add to favorites, or suscribe, only post new messages. It does not happen in Mozilla, and it does not happen if I log in with a different account in Chrome. How weird!
@rootberry i have visited china over the past few years, more and more censorship is applied each year, i remember the last two times i went back myspace, facebook, and youtube were all blocked. There was also the Google pulled out last year i think, i remember they made a google china and most of the searches were censored. also when i visited mao's tomb, no pictures are allowed, they will kick u out. the rest of my experience in china was just dealing with a lot of fake/pirated material.

i left my first bad messge on a not so funny vid and i felt really bad about it and tried to say sorry but he blocked me and i was never able to say sorry but then i got a friend to do it for me and then i was happy (that was truely my first mean comment)

@rootberry My channel contains no videos, uploaded by myself. So there is nothing to be discussed on my channel. And once as there was the possibility to comment my channel, there were just a few senseless, short messages on it.
So I decided to turn it off, because in my opinion, it doesn't makes any sense at all to be on my channel. Perhaps I will turn it on again, anytime in the future, when I decide to upload some videos. But until then people who want to contact me have to write me a pm.

freedom of speech, probably one the most controversial topics in any country, the way i use it, to the point where there wont be any problems with legal matters, i do rant at times, but most of those are a spur of the moment things. yes i can be considered a hater, but i know when i need to stop and what i can say. the whole censorship thing im glad im living in the US now, cuz in china censorship was a big deal. people feel the need to express how to they feel at times just over doing sometimes

So we don't have full freedom of speech in the way that racism, revisionism, and other hate-related speeches are against the law. Somehow I like it, because, for instance, I am free from hearing hate speeches against my community or any other community.
@TyYann One challenge I have with the way that France's does it is, hate speech is subjective. I truly believe that freedom ends where your neighbors begins. For instance, my civil rights do not trump another humans civil rights. But there are groups like the Westover Baptist that say incredibly offensive things at funerals. Although, I disagree with them, I think they should be free to express their opinion even though I feel they are misguided. Because I want to be able to express myself.

The way France does it is about its principle of equality: basically, no tolerance for racim, insults, etc. I understand the relativity of "hate speech", I heard about the Westover Baptist, and what they did wouldn't have been illegal in France etheir. Though I'm not a lawer and somebody might have found something against them. Everything is written clearly in the law. After that, it is about who votes the law.

Ridiculous, I try to just ignore them. Usually from Shane and especially MysteryGuitarMan only because he edits for a whole day which is obviously a lot of work.

I like your opinion on this, but I don't remove anything unless it's something that really brings me down. On a different channel my friends and I had a very successful video, but of course there are trolls specifically pointing out everything they deemed wrong about our physical features. I'm pretty good at taking criticism, but if it was something that I had to talk to someone I know about it because I wanted to know their opinion on it.. I deleted the comment.

I'm trying to build my viewership here on youtube by using my freedom of speech to talk about really mundane subjects. I've actually been having problems with a troll these last couple weeks and I said last week 'WARNING: One more comment like this and ur blocked' and nothing else so far. me : 1 haters : 0
I rarely comment (I think I have a subconscious fear that my comment will either be completely ignored or that someone will respond hatefully to it...moving on.), but I feel that I should point out how much I like your vocabulary. I'm a language geek, and because English is the only language I speak fluently, I really enjoy hearing good words that rarely come up in daily life. Thank you for using "tactful" in this video. I haven't heard it since I learned it three years ago.

Haters are just haters, they're not a big deal. Some of them aren't "jealous" sometimes the case is they found someone that really ticks them off so then they trash-talk them. So you can't say they're people who are jealous or they hate the fact that you're successful and you seem that you love your life blah blah blah sometimes the case is they've just found someone they really hate and sometimes the person they're hating on can be really rude themselves. It happens to me while using Chrome, and only in this account. I cant like videos, reply messages, add to favorites, or suscribe, only post new messages. It does not happen in Mozilla, and it does not happen if I log in with a different account in Chrome. How weird!

@rootberry i have visited china over the past few years, more and more censorship is applied each year, i remember the last two times i went back myspace, facebook, and youtube were all blocked. There was also the Google pulled out last year i think, i remember they made a google china and most of the searches were censored. also when i visited mao's tomb, no pictures are allowed, they will kick u out. the rest of my experience in china was just dealing with a lot of fake/pirated material.

@doubleJOOteeEF Youtube in and of itself is not free. They don't let you post every kind of video, but I feel that's a good thing because it would have already been overrun with people posting porn. Removing comments, no matter why you do it, is ALWAYS a kind of censoreship and it narrows the freedom of speech of the one, who posted it.
You have NOWHERE real freedom of speech! If you life in germany for example and have the opinion, that Adolf Hitler was and is still AWESOME, you cannot say this in public. If it is your opinion, that pedophilia is just normal sexuality it is the same with this one.

But I do have freedom of though and freedom of speech in my own home. Out of curiosity, why do you not allow comments on your Youtube channel? I feel that my ability to convey truthiness is diminished and I feel very censored.

@rootberry My channel contains no videos, uploaded by myself. So there is nothing to be discussed on my channel. And once as there was the possibility to comment my channel, there were just a few senseless, short messages on it.
So I decided to turn it off, because in my opinion, it doesn't makes any sense at all to be on my channel. Perhaps I will turn it on again, anytime in the future, when I decide to upload some videos. But until then people who want to contact me have to write me a pm.

freedom of speech, probably one the most controversial topics in any country, the way i use it, to the point where there wont be any problems with legal matters, i do rant at times, but most of those are a spur of the moment things. yes i can be considered a hater, but i know when i need to stop and what i can say. the whole censorship thing im glad im living in the US now, cuz in china censorship was a big deal. people feel the need to express how to they feel at times just over doing sometimes

Censorship does suck but people use freedom of speech all the time where it doesn't belong. (like on privately owned websites i.e. Youtube)
Anyway keep doing what you do. There will always be more supporters than haters. You can always block people like you said too!

In France, we consider that "freedom ends where your neighbour's one starts."
So we don't have full freedom of speech in the way that racism, revisionism, and other hate-related speeches are against the law. Somehow I like it, because, for instance, I am free from hearing hate speeches against my community or any other community.

@TyYann One challenge I have with the way that France's does it is, hate speech is subjective. I truly believe that freedom ends where your neighbors begins. For instance, my civil rights do not trump another humans civil rights. But there are groups like the Westover Baptist that say incredibly offensive things at funerals. Although, I disagree with them, I think they should be free to express their opinion even though I feel they are misguided. Because I want to be able to express myself.

The way France does it is about its principle of equality: basically, no tolerance for racim, insults, etc. I understand the relativity of "hate speech", I heard about the Westover Baptist, and what they did wouldn't have been illegal in France etheir. Though I'm not a lawer and somebody might have found something against them. Everything is written clearly in the law. After that, it is about who votes the law.

You bring up a great point. It's not censorship. Yes a Saturnian will have the right to say that Martian religeon is fake but if he goes to a Martian church and writes that on a wall he's gonna get his Saturnian ass wooped. All three of them. When I say my honest opinion about a video from a "YouTube Celebrity", like, "Not funny like the rest of the videos, but keep up the work" and people (usually big fans) will be writing back to me calling me a hater and other things. Ridiculous, I try to just ignore them. Usually from Shane and especially MysteryGuitarMan only because he edits for a whole day which is obviously a lot of work.

I like your opinion on this, but I don't remove anything unless it's something that really brings me down. On a different channel my friends and I had a very successful video, but of course there are trolls specifically pointing out everything they deemed wrong about our physical features. I'm pretty good at taking criticism, but if it was something that I had to talk to someone I know about it because I wanted to know their opinion on it.. I deleted the comment.

I rarely comment (I think I have a subconscious fear that my comment will either be completely ignored or that someone will respond hatefully to it...moving on.), but I feel that I should point out how much I like your vocabulary. I'm a language geek, and because English is the only language I speak fluently, I really enjoy hearing good words that rarely come up in daily life. Thank you for using "tactful" in this video. I haven't heard it since I learned it three years ago.

@rootberry i don't even find all negative comments bad, really... it's just when they start making accusations when they don't even know the person and start being outright mean that it bugs me. it's fine to not like a video, it's not fine to verbally attack the person who made it. if it's constructive criticism, i find it helpful... when it's a "you suck please die and get off this site" when it starts to bug me.

@socraticus Let me clarify, people are doing one of three things. Striving for something better, are content or dorment in their life or they are digressing. I have found that those who are content (dorment) tend to become those who later digress when given the passage of time. My question to you is. Regardless of where you are today are you taking steps to move forward in your life or are you digressing. I feel "most" haters are not advancing their life. Feel free to ask me more questions

Haters are just haters, they're not a big deal. Some of them aren't "jealous" sometimes the case is they found someone that really ticks them off so then they trash-talk them. So you can't say they're people who are jealous or they hate the fact that you're successful and you seem that you love your life blah blah blah sometimes the case is they've just found someone they really hate and sometimes the person they're hating on can be really rude themselves. But they're just haters, no big deal

Freedom of Speech says a person has a write to speak their mind without fear of reprisal. Nothing says we have to listen to them. Nor do we have to put up with or keep their "output" when it's written in OUR space. I delete lots of inappropriate comments from my blogs and various networking sites. ;) Good video.
