  • So much better than Hasselhoff!

  • I REALLY LOVE THE RENDITION OF THIS SONG, tHIS IS THE mOMENT...OR NONE AT ALL.

  • Robert Cuccioli is magnificent. No one sings this song as well as he does.

  • nice

  • I really want to sing this for school, but the "damn all the odds" part isn't appropriate :( does anyone know anyway I could switch it up? Thanks!

  • @VioletSkye56 I had the same problem! I'm going to go with "Forget all the Odds", since "Damn" is held out, it'll fit. =^)

  • Louis Tomlinson brought me here i love him!

  • do you have the full show?

  • is there a dvd or something of this musical?

  • @fritstoofvlees Yes but it stars David Hasselhoff, everyone else on the DVD is good though.

  • Pure and simply Beautiful!!

  • I think I'll take that for my graduation

  • gene jourdan clarkes version on my channel amazing also

  • awesome check out genes version of this song...simply stunning too

  • awesome

  • Simply fucking stunning...

  • @Valjeanjolras That's because it's Broadway!!! Lol

  • @WiggleTick THIS. IS. BROADWAAAAAY!!!!!

Sorry for getting involved, I just couldn't resist.

  • Is there a full version of Cuccioli, Eder and Noll available? Did this come from a taped professional performance? I'd kill to get a copy of this. I loved Robert and he is the only Jekyll & Hyde.

  • @obscuremedia If such a copy exists, I want one!

  • wow i wanted to listen to this is song cuz i listen to a korean version by daesung idont understand but i feel it more

  • Robert Cuccioli delivers the message of the song with extreme intensity and hearfelt emotions. Magnificent VIBRATO!! He is the best performer of this broadway musical production. I would even consider the talent that fits him, the song, and the music into one. Bravo!!

  • I wish there were a "LOVE" button! xD

  • He is AMAZING! I dislike anyone who dislikes this video!

  • This is one of the best high school productions I've ever seen!

  • The problem I am seeing is his ability..He is straining so hard to hit the notes that he cracks and slides. A shame really cause he has some power but the push is so hard on the ears.....Sorry but just saying.

  • Guys! My dad sang this song and hes good! Check it out!

    /watch?v=aLaEJ-UFlmE&feature=related

  • I nearly cried when I saw this live! It's sad when you know the story of Jekyll and Hyde and how this in the end isn't the moment he thought it would be!

  • This is good but anthony warlow is great. sorry had to say it

  • @hallsy69 so true!

  • BY FAR THE BEST VERSION. EPIC. All caps intentional.

  • Bravo!

    How powerful voice...

  • Bravo!

  • Better than the Hoff. Of course, I sound better than that overblown lifeguard.

  • David Hasselhoff made 19 accounts and disliked this video.

  • @waterwind2266 Hahaha! So true! <3

  • @waterwind2266 Watching David Hasselhoff sing this is like watching William Shatner try to act.

  • @waterwind2266 And the other two dislikes were from the other two judges on America's Got Talent. LOL XD

  • @rikkulockhart15 Nice.

  • Robert Cuccioli is my favorite Jekyll/Hyde. And I do like Anthony Warlow too. Very similar voices. Personally I love the way Robert plays the part. I've watched many clips with other actors/singers in the role. I find they usually don't have chops to do it justice. Of course that's just my preference. Everyone is entitled to their different tastes.

  • Robert Cuccioli and Anthony Warlow are my two favorite Jekyll/Hyde performers. Love this song. Too bad one of our Dutch singers, Rene Froger, decided to sing this song and he did a pretty good attempt of destroying it completely...O_o

  • @NavaeraGreenleaf88 I find your comment very refreshing. No false nationalism.

  • i didn't like his phrasing but great voice

  • Great voice. Obviously much better than the Hoff.

  • The Korean version is better!

  • fabulous post; saw J&H in 1997 & met him, Miss Eder and Cristine after the performance.....an unforgettable memory !......Happy Tony Awards TONIGHT !....expecting Book of Mormon to sweep

  • he wasnt the best, but he wasnt bad

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone, please tell me! How can I get this DVD?!?!?

  • So...he's ridiculously amazing in many different ways x)

  • I have to sing this for auditions!

  • I like Anthony Warlow when he sings it.

  • This is basically one of my favorite songs from Jekyll/Hyde. Right next to: Good And Evil, Dangerous Game, Facade, Someone Like You. Its nice to see the original sing this song!

  • @RosesNightengales Colm Wilkinson was actullay the original. He and Linda Eder worked on the concept album. I thought that no one would compare to Wilkinson and then I saw Cuccioli on Broadway. Fantastic.

  • I realized that modern people say that old songs are lame. . . . but old song is still sang todey and modern songs will appear and than will disappear

  • Why are clarinets never in tune ?

  • @slimi1969 Clarinets get flatter in tune as the person plays it too much. But that's no excuse, they should fix that in between songs.

  • Im going to see this musical with marty pellow I really hope he does the role justice I love marty so I hope he's up to it

  • I did actually see him on Broadway and he was fabulous!!! Such a powerful voice!!! O absolutely loved this musical!! I found Linda Eder and Frank Wildhorn because of it!!

  • i can listen to this all day- can't wait to see Robert on May 3, 2011 at the Westchester Dinner Theater.

  • He's yelling a little as it gets higher, not best technique, hmm

  • THE BEST !!!!!!

  • YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The song to play at my funeral,, my judgement...

  • Comment removed

  • About 36 hours to go in 2010- this song was stuck in my head a LOT this year- things have a way of working out the way they were meant to! Happy New Year, everyone!

  • What does this have to do with Jumpstyle??

  • He makes it look so easy!

  • Nice but Keith Jack nails this one!!!!!!!

  • 18 deaf people accidentally clicked "Dislike".

    Thanks for posting!

  • @JustAPerson99 LOL>>LOL>>> You said it!! I have this saved to my favorites and I LOVE it!!

  • @JustAPerson99 They're not deaf, they're CRAZY! I'm hearing impaired.... I LOVE CUCCIOLI!! I could never listen to the Hoff sing this again!

  • I applaud this actor on this song and role. Sad he blew his voice out doing the part. I do think it is nice to see more Baratones getting leads.

  • @chaksheba Problem was that Robert is a baritenor traditionally skews more towards baritone than tenor and the role was largely tenor. It was a pity his voice went, and yet I do respect his decision to go full tilt and not try and dance around that by using a weak falsetto.

  • @chezdodger Agreed.

  • he absolutley nails that song!

  • I saw him perform this on Broadway and LOVED IT!

  • THIS ISNT ASSELHOFF

  • i have to give it to Hasselhoff .... he had soo much pressure on him ..... he did really well considering he wasn't trained musically and his emotion was incredible ... he gave me goosebumps and he hit all the notes And to follow this preformance he did extremly well xx

  • @welshdancer1 that's what I mean! for me emotions are the most important! Even more important than a perfect voice. And Hasselhoff's emotions are so amazing and again you're right, it gives goodebumps everytime I watch it! :)

  • Are there different versions of this song? If so, is this song somehow "lower" in pitch/key/whatever than another version?

  • Wonderful! Beautiful! Divine! What a voice! What a moment!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=8jCRYD-7EkQ

watch this one, it's in korean, but much better facial expression than Cuccioli

  • oh man. i'm a guy, but i seriously melt when i hear robert sing this song

  • So my school is doing this musical, and this is one of our tryout pieces. This video really helped to learn it. Our other piece is Alive. Our director wants to hear it in a kind of normal way.

  • It's not David Hasseloff. It's Robert Cuccioli.

  • @sweeneytoddzik Cuccioli is the superior Jekyll/Hyde.

  • In my opinion, the BEST version of this wonderful song!

  • I feel kind of disappointed that this performance wasn't followed with thunderous applause.

  • @ 5:13 now 5:14- God has told me what I should today- This is the moment- This is the day- We are going in...I AM JOSHUA- WE ARE THE JOSHUA GENERATION- WE ARE GOING IN

  • Wow brilliant ive got to sing that song i a show i hope its as amazing as that!!!!

  • Anthony and Robert kick ass!

  • I always get goosebumps when I here this song! x

  • Take THAT, David Hasselhoff!! :D

  • Robert Cuccioli IS the one and only Jekyll & Hyde.

  • I love Bob Cuccioli. Espeically when he's Hyde.

  • Wow! What a voice!

  • this guy does a pretty good cover watch?v=mWzp6bYJdpA

  • Popular music is way overblown. Broadway performers have never gotten the credit they deserve, buy it's a personal choice. Musical score can only be new for so long.

  • @GameJourney Musical scores may only be new for so long but they last forever, most pop songs die after a month.

  • @GameJourney Well, do you go for the money and the fame or do you go with using your talents to further the art form? Of course, it should be noted that some people get into the music that provides them with money and fame because they appreciate that kind of music.

  • @GameJourney

I agree, I am a community performer and understand the difficulty to do these productions. It really is a shame when a person can get famous off an auto-tuned soundtrack instead of true masters of art.

  • @GameJourney

    This applies doubly to Opera.

  • The only thing that I dont like about this guy.. IS EMOTION... GET INTO IT..I know he has to stay in charecter.. but my GOD..EXPRESS EMOTION IN YOUR VOICE...

  • My mistake! I think Anthony Warlow originated the role on B'way. Yet while Warlow is superb, I like Cuccioli's version better.

  • This song is awesome whether one hears the original Broadway version or the one done by the Moody Blues.

  • wow

  • Wow. I can't even say anything, I'm so overwhelmed. He's amazing. Just amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • I never knew there was a Broadway production. Is there like a romance on both sides for Jekyll and for Hyde :)

  • Goosebumps everytime!!!!!

  • Where can one find this whole version with him and Linda in it? Is it on DVD? I keep finding the hasselhoff version and I don't want that one!

  • @lillarenapa lololololololol it is absolutely terrible!!!!!

  • This is the Canadian... see him sparkle and drink...

    ... oh, sorry XD

*just watched Bob sing this song on Madlibs... AND NOW IT'S STUCK IN MY HEAD!!! AAH!*

    hehe Bob is awesome <3

  • lame. really. has ANYONE else seen this done on ANY stage? apparently not. lame.

  • This is the shit! Awesome song and singing.

    :)

  • Ok, who else looked this up after watching the roast of David hasselhoff? Lol

  • @miraclewhip237 That would be me hahaha

  • @miraclewhip237 this is my third time watching the roast of David Hasselhoff but it's my first time looking this up after watching the roast

  • @miraclewhip237 hahahaha! amazing!

  • @miraclewhip237 Well, the only reason Why I looked up Bob was because I've always wanted to see what he looked like as Jekyll. And I have David's version on DVD. So yea, Bob's better. Haaha..

  • @miraclewhip237 Guilty...

  • @miraclewhip237 oh come on he's good and his acting is bloody brilliant, the best of all. he's not a singer so it's obvious he's not as good as Cuccioli. But his performance is good.

  • @miraclewhip237 I looked this up after David hasselhoff roast. I watched the roast for Gilbert Gottffried .........hahaha. I never thought i would say this but i prefer David's rendition ...hahahaha

  • @miraclewhip237

why you hassling the Hoff, he actually did a great job, it was no day at the beach for him!

  • @lookingfortalent2007 did you ACTUALLY see him LIVE on Broadway??? He was god-awful...couldn't remember his lines to the script or the songs..needed to have a feed in his ear. Completely self-absorbed and talentless.

  • @CandyR6552

I only saw the video, must have been "best of"

  • @CandyR6552 shit, i knew hasslehoff sucked, but not to how you described it, lmao. And he only lasted as long as he did with the show because he payed to have his contract extended, he didnt do the HBO telecast out of kindness, he did it to further his run, classy guy? yeah.....no! lol

  • @miraclewhip237 whips arse springs to mind

  • @miraclewhip237 erm whips arse springs to mind

  • @miraclewhip237 I definitely did

  • The worst thing they ever did was try to make David Hasselhoff sing. He absolutely sucks! This is the only man I've ever seen do a good job of this role. He portrays perfectly good and evil and the struggle between the two.

  • @Ahuey88 The only thing the Hoff had that made his role as Jeckyll is his size. He's so tall that he is able to crouch over and look menecingly at people when he transforms into Hyde. But apparently menecing=cross eyed...my theatre teacher in high school played the whole musical in our class to show us an example of bad acting. haha! :P

  • Very uplifting to the soul!...The irony here is overwhelming..I am just going to sit back, listen and watch it..WoW

  • I love love LOVE this song!

He sings it so well :D

  • @speckybex4 ur right

  • There's a version of the Moody Blues, very similar.

  • powerful lyrics xD....... I LOVE IT!.....

  • Wow....

  • Amazing. I know they have a Recorded on broadway film out of David Hasselhoff and i think i even seen some clips of rob evens. But did they do a full recording of this show with this man if so where can i see it?

  • i was searching for jumpstyle and then i found this shit....

  • NO ONE sings this song better than Skid Row's Sebastian Bach...hands down!

  • amazing voice, no doubt about it

... he kind of underacted a bit though

  • @RedKingCommandz I agree

  • My future wedding song

  • I have tried and tried to make him sound good but I can't I simply can't the damn wasn't hit right and if Hasselhoff can do it he damn sure can. and hes not selling it to me

  • @dethe8ter TRIED to make him sound good? He's AMAZING. The only thing you should try to do is not compare Hasselhoff to Cucciolli! Please...? It's like comparing silver to gold. Or more like alumiun to platinum. Cucciolli kicks ass!!! :)

  • Comment removed

  • @MLeeemily No sound good that came out wrong he sounds amazing but I'm sorry his acting is very bland to me. And I wasn't comparing i was just stating that at his his skill level he should of hit that note that's all.

  • @dethe8ter

    It's not under-acting. It's truthful and realistic.

Would you prefer Hasselhoff's carnival act?

  • @AtLastOnTheGround Yes and no I love Cucciolli's voice however on stage you have to over act to sell it and im sorry he didn't do it for me for some its good for me its not that's all. And Haselhoff's wasn't a carnival act it just was overly dramatic and it worked for his this work's for Cucciolli. I just like a more figurative expression on stage since I know that it works for me.

  • @dethe8ter

Let me tell you something -- That whole "over-acting" notion is complete bunk. Second-rate, amateur garbage. In fact, the best acting teachers out there say that you shouldn't be really be "acting" at all. You should be working off of the imaginary circumstances. Nothing is larger than life except death. Theater is meant to be true to life, not larger than life.

  • @AtLastOnTheGround In your opinion and theirs not mine so if all you can do is state opinion and partial facts providing only your side of the spectrum. Further more your telling me that if you just equated that your life's work was going to basically work you would sit there and move your hands some not be excited. I'm sorry I he underacted I don't care what you say he voice was immaculate but his acting was under par for his ability, and if this is the best of his...cont.

  • @AtLastOnTheGround ...."working off imaginary circumstances he shouldn't be in stage proforminces other than concerts where he would really shine. Finally if all you can do is once again state partial true facts this conversation is over and don't think your better than with knowledge its not becoming.

  • @dethe8ter

You have no understanding of talent or acting. Please keep your poisoned and formalistic beliefs out of the theater, thanks.

  • @AtLastOnTheGround I have plenty understanding that's the problem and since I have been in plenty of stage productions I know talent and acting when I see it so before you judge learn more about the person you are dealing with.

  • By far the best.

  • damn nice.

  • this guy does an amazing job - i wish i could sing like him! this makes a really nice barbershop song also

  • 2:49

  • just met robert cuccioli today at an audition for jeckyll and hyde that he is directing..what a great guy with a great talent...oh and a wonderful sense of humor...we had great laughs together....thank you mr. cuccioli for making me feel so welcomed...xoxo

  • Lucky enough to have seen Robert Cuccioli perform this in "Jekyll & Hyde." First time I ever saw a standing ovation to a performance closing the first act! Well deserved, I might add. Brilliant!

  • his voice is amazing.

  • Nice:)

  • I was lucky enough to have known Bob before he ever became famous. When I first saw Bob perform this phenomenal song on broadway I cried. The song epitomized how hard Bob worked to get where he truly belonged. Im happy to say that Bob is still a very down to earth & charming man. May you have continued success my friend!! Love Always, Margaret

  • I love this performance!!! I have the DVD for this show, and in all honesty, I did not think Hasselhoff's version was bad at all, I was actually quite impressed with him, especially since he is not a professional broadway performer.

However, there is no doubt that Robert Cuccioli's performance is better, stunning and fantastic! This is my favorite musical, I have the original CD, and he is truly THE Jekyll/Hyde! Seeing this makes me wish that I had seen him live on Broadway! (I saw Jack Wagner)

  • This is a very easy song to sing. It's just breath control and nothing else.

  • cool

  • so i know someone who sang this in their chorus class and they messed up a few parts but it still sounded really good. then i went to look it up and watched the hasselhoff version first and was like um ew no way, the guy i know sings it better than him!

so then i looked this one up and this guy is like amazing!

    holy whoa!

  • dit had ik dus echt niet verwacht toen ik de titel zag hoor :P

  • this should be our graduation song

  • @1untitledagain1 - I know, right? I wish someone had sung it at mine! It would have been perfect!

  • Too many "pop" singers always try to sing great show tunes like this. They always stink because these songs are written for, and meant to be sung by those with legit voices.

  • well this is the original song.. and it's very difficult to sing like him.. unlike the latest version of this song.. this song has good articulation, tone and volume.. some of the version today has a poor articulation though its good.. hahahah
