  • him and Larry Johnson in the backfield was a great thing.. Priest was a monster and showed it every week. He was a GREAT during those 3-4 years dominating teams.... hell of a player. Thank you Priest

  • Priest Holmes. Unfortunate timing in Baltimore. Injury riddled in Kansas City. Arguably 3 1/2 years of the best running the NFL has ever seen. He didn't just make you miss, he made you look foolish. He didn't just break tackles, He ran over men. Unfortunately he met an all too common NFL running back fate when Merriman "ended" his career. What a fun running back to watch.

  • Not to mention, everyone in and around KC seemed to all like the Priest, as opposed to LJ - LJ was perhaps the most hated player the Chiefs ever had.

  • @dudestr5552 Lj was an asshole; this coming from someone that knew about how treated people that delivered pizzas to his house.

  • @TnepExo LJ was a complete and total fucking dick. I don't know why he ever became a part of our organization. What Carl Peterson and the Chiefs front office were thinking, I don't know, but it seemed that everyone liked the Priest. And so far everyone in and around KC seems to like Jamaal Charles. Hopefully we can shake off the ugliness that was the Larry Johnson incident soon.

  • @dudestr5552 jamal charles replaced his ass

  • @dudestr5552

"LJ was a complete and total fucking dick. I don't know why he ever became a part of our organization."

NFL front offices don't give a shit about attitudes as long as a player can produce.

Look at DeSean Jackson, a fucking diva receiver with no perspective. Someone is going to throw millions at him when he hits free agency this off-season.

Eventually, the attitude will catch up to the player (like LJ) and they will stop producing.

  • @QBDogKiller Point taken and understood completely. I agree with you, and sadly that seems to be the way it is in most organizations/jobs/career fields. But as you said, eventually the attitude catches up with with the player, and they stop producing. Well said.

  • I liked Priest Holmes because he didn't (at least, not initially) demand a high-paying contract, and he wasn't a screwball off the field. He just came out there on Sundays, did what he needed to do, and played extremely well. Why we ever signed Larry Johnson (the exact opposite of Priest Holmes), I'll never know, but I'm glad those days are over. Now if Charles can stay healthy, our run game will once again be unstoppable.

  • That's when we had Dick V as coach and our Offense was INSANE!

  • I meant favorite RB period.

  • My favorite RB for the Chiefs!!!

  • i still til this day recreate holmes on madden idk i love the guy just imagine how great of career he would have had

  • He would've been ok without his O-line, but they made him as they made Larry Johnson. Priest was a good back, made some nice moves, had good footwork, powerful, but his greatest asset was his ability to read blockers. This is coming from a diehard Chiefs fan.

  • you oughta love Priest Holmes. He is one of the best runningbacks alive.

  • Jamaal Charles is better than Holmes. 6.4 YPC is insane. I don't think yall understand. He is the best Running back of all time already.

  • @Cunkdoat hes been good for one year and jamaal is a hole different type of rb, jamaal is a quick, agile back priest was a power and smash mouth small ball back they arent even comparable

  • @herkey23 He was good for 2 years and its because he is very young. He is way better than holmes and has broken some of holmes records already.

  • @Cunkdoat jamaal charles this is only jamaal charles's third year...but hes hurt.....and still you cant compare the two what so ever priest- power back charles- speed and agility back and holmes still holds the record for single season tds

  • @herkey23 Lol shows how much you know... Shaun Alexander beat that record by coming up with 28 only to be surpassed by tomlinson with 31.

  • @Cunkdoat i meant for the chiefs stupid

  • @herkey23 You didn't clarify that... stupid

  • @Cunkdoat dont assume till you know bud. dont try me i know way more football than you do

  • @herkey23 wahahahaha your Nice try but not even close

  • @Cunkdoat mhmm

  • Wow really I just cried... man I ain't cried all night :(

  • @mcclaintrain55 J Charles is pretty damn good when hes on the field

  • as a raiders fan i'm happy that the chiefs don't have elite runners like priest or LJ lol i was tired of those two kicking our ass every year lol

  • let not forget the best qb for chiefs Len Dawson and the human joystick or the x-factor Dante Hall

  • Priest Holmes actually has the most rushing touchdowns in back to back seasons in NFL history. With 48 rushing td's (2002, 2003) And he is also only the 2nd player with 2 seasons of 20 or more rushing touchdowns in a career. The other is Emmitt Smith, who did it in 94-95.

  • Adrian is better than this guy, cept adrian has had the worst oline of any top back in nfl history

  • If priest would of been a starter when he came into the league he'd be one of the greatest... look what he did in the time he was a starter.. kind of scary.

  • priest was a beast to any football fan im from greenbay but idk if homes is a legend but he was an amazing player...jamal charles has a future for kc as well good luck

  • Priest Holmes was more of Walter Payton type back without a lot of that strenght of course. But i mean lets face LT, Earl Campbell, or Barry Sanders even dared to try and jump as high as priest would and i mean priest would jump over a defensive line on 1st and 15 just to get those extra yards He is a legend in his own right , and hell at least he injured his self doing the thing he did best. That guy played his heart out every single game I love you man wish i could have seen more

  • im a viking fan and this was easily one of my favorite RB's he just straight up trucked people lol. miss guys like him in the nfl

  • Willy Roaf, Will Shields, and Tony Richardson made Priest and Larry Johnson. Priest was an average back who knew how to use blockers. I have the same thoughts about Emmitt Smith

  • richardson was hell of a lead blocker

  • its funny how priest holmes my cousin...you people dont have to believe me...just sayin

  • Best Running Back in kansas city ever period. Could have been more.

  • @xXjsulli15Xx

He should go to the Hall of Fame.

  • Im loooking at all these comments from a year ago. The Chiefs have rebuilt. Jamaal Charles will be the best back in the league and Dwayne Bowe will be the best Wide Reciever and Tamba Hali will be the best pass rusher. Let things play out.

  • Larry Johnson is a thug, I found a Priest Holmes jersey at a rumage sale, I wear it with pride. Jamaal Charles and Christian Okye are also good cheifs backs

  • FUCK U LARRY JOHNSON FOR RUINING HIS CAREER

  • Priest Holmes is one of the best runningbacks ever to play in the NFL.

he aint the best, he's one of the best...

because didn't nobody start jjumping over the defense on the goal line until Priest Holmes started, so Priest basicly started that....

  • @RousticKyle Wow bro slow ur roll now... Now I love priest holmes like a damn brother but he wasnt the 1st dude to start jumping ova piles... LT was doing it b4 him.. barry saunders, earl campbell, jus to name a few.. No hating either bro... I fucking loved priest holmes..

  • @123osuala ... well LT was drafted in 2001.. priest in 97..... just imaging what could of been of him he he did not get hurt back in 2004.. 8 games with 15 TDs 900 yrds.. 111 yrds per game/// dont forget 2002 he miss 2 games, had 24 TDs 115 yrds per game......... i think he miss 49 games with K.C.. and total up #83 TDs in 7 seasons really it was more like 5.. AND 6,070 rushing yrds ..... WOW WHAT A RUNNING BACK.. BUT I DO GET YOUR POINT...

  • Mythical! I've got your t-shirt! Respect from Italy!

  • Pretty crazy that the best Kansas City running back since Priest Holmes (sorry Larry Johnson) is another Longhorn, Jamaal Charles.

  • Jamaal Charles will be the best running back the Chiefs have ever had... He is a beast, and his average is just incredible.

  • @diabloprey dead wrong

  • @WhoThat808 Well you are obviously a dumbass. He has broken plenty of Chiefs records in 2 years of playing. Too bad he was injured this year. FOCK YOU MOTHERFUCKER YOUR A STRAIGHT BITCH ASS PUSSY THAT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL IM GONNA FOCK U UP BITCH!!!!!!!!

  • @diabloprey yeah right Charles is good but he wont be no Holmes

  • PRIEST HOLMES IS A LEGEND.. My favorite Running Back

  • He loved the game, which seems to be rare these days.

  • Disagree! The best line up ever was in 1994! joe montana will shields marcus allen etc.

  • @TheASYoder considering joe only play 2/3 yrs on his contract.. Biggest let down near Willie Roaf retiring and C. Peterson thinking hes coming back... Hes coming back... .. When a kc star paper read about Roafs house not much left in it(cause he already decided it was time and moving back to cali) big screen and a big lazy boy not much left or something like that.. I just remember reading about it.. I was like hes Already long gone.

  • @TheASYoder that was the best collection of great nfl players that had very little left in the tank

  • best offense ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its a Shame he did not get a Ring. In 2003 they were sooo close but that defence let the offence down:(

  • Priest Holmes and Terrell Davis are the perfect comparrison.

  • MY SECOND FAVORITE PLAYER OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WAIT!! WTF!! He's Dead?!? OMFG!! NOOOOOOO!!

  • @KC816KC calm down if you'll notice the little box i put at the end of the video it clearly states that he is not dead lol

  • @KC816KC Holmes Family resides in San Antonio, TX

  • @Iconhulk Ok.. Just askin, what possesed you to tell me where his family lives? Did I ask where his family lives?

  • @KC816KC i ain't the one that is wiggin on hes dead... and it only says it on wiki, and other stuff.. and when his injury happen peterson was getting burned by a form kc star report whitlock saying priest bullied his way to a contract but spent most of his time in San Antonio Texas... ? how would you not know where one of your hero's and a person you look up to lives or resides? Priest holmes aint a jerk like I have heard rumors that G. Brett comes off as a a-hole or jerk....?

  • @Iconhulk i'm sorry,, but the things you are arguing with me about are very irrelevant to anyhting. You're actually starting tio confuse me, so I'm done commenting on this video.

  • Too all Bronco Fans!!! Pay back is coming this Sunday at Arrow Head. Get ready for the mud hole thats about to get created in Your Asses !!!!!!! GO CHIEFS !!!!! 12/03/2010

  • Priest Holmes will always be one of my favorite Chiefs players of all time. He was truly amazing.

  • yah.. to bad priest got injured, roaf retired, and tony was traded, truely was great, they should have one it all.. but the young chiefs this year looks like it could go for glory!

  • and he was undrafted....

just about the classiest guy you will ever meet

he and tony richardson were unstopable

  • Best chief RB ever and personal favorite. Couldn't be a better guy off the field either, what a class act you were Priest. If players could be only half the man you were the league would be better. We need to get him in our HOF now. Priest 4 life, these times were the best, takes me back to middle school and H.S. , such good times.

  • You gotta be Sherlock Holmes to figure out some of this blurry video...

  • Touchdown machine with ears.

  • whos priest holmes? u should die if u dont know who he is!!

  • who's Priest Holmes?

  • he came to my school yesterday yesterday to speak it was beast

  • Comment removed

  • haha back when the Chiefs were a team, Priest Holmes was a monster. Too bad for what happened to him though, he coulda done alot more.

  • Priest Holmes and the cheifs were amazing at this time.

    Wtf happend

  • @KaIanari

what do you mean what the fuck happened

you updated this yesterday which mean you KNOW WE 2-0!!!!

    eat shit haters

    CHEIFS 4 LIFE

  • @icemangervin26 I never said i hated the chiefs i live 15 min away from them im just saying they were bad for like 4 years. and im happy their 2-0

  • @icemangervin26 you spelled chiefs wrong. chief

  • im a die hard giants fan i bleed ny blue but i cannot lie priest was one of the greatest running backs i had the priviledge of seen on tv

  • Holmes and T. Davis would of had great careers if it wernt for injuries. Wish they were apart of the dual back era. Alot more years of their play.

  • Favorite NFL player ever right there. Amazing guy and player, He INVENTED the frog leap over the line.

  • no they for sure would of took it that year if it wasnt for that bad call

  • Just think, all the Chiefs needed was just a tad bit better of a defense

  • @juneboi92 man in 2003 we had the best offence but the worst defence the colts had the 2nd best offence and 31st worse defence defence won that game....

  • the chiefs running game is back now

  • he brought life to the chiefs franchise

out 11 season of his careers he only won ring not even with the chiefs

but when he came to the chiefs he made them a contender

  • I used 2 love dhis nigga. now i just like LJ

  • hes the only man i have ever said was sexy

  • @majew2552 what you think priest holmes is sexy are you gay just kiddeng

  • Did he get injured alot? Because in 11 years 8,000 yards isn't that legendary, exelent but....not legendary. Now in 8 years 11,000 yards like LT is superb

  • @izuru67 no just at the end but he had the deck stacked against him pretty much his entire career but he still worked hard and was an amazing person and player

  • @buzzsaw15 Ah

  • @izuru67 This is a response to your post about priest holmes. He didn't shine long but when he did it was brighter than anyone. He was put third and second string for the first half of his career. When he finally got a chance to start with the chiefs, he killed. He played every game like these highlights. If you wanna see a priest holmes highlight, just watch any game he ever played for the chiefs.

  • oh yea I forgot to put that at the end he got dragged down by his neck and it ended his career.

  • @fillupsherman no he came back for 1 more season but he wasnt the same

  • @izuru67 Keep in mind when he played for the Ravens they also had Jamal Lewis, and when he played for the Chiefs they had Larry Johnson. And yes, he got injured a few times.

  • yea i remeber them days......my house use to be full as a muthafucka to see priest run........NEVER AGAIN lol

  • the chiefs just never hada defense so the offense couldnt di it all

  • a great selection on the song.....Priest was really a great back who I feel will be underappreciated

  • @BuckGuy27 yea and the best part about him was that he was a lot stronger then ud think, if u saw his alst game u know that, he injured himself doing it but he ran like a LJ in that game bull rushing over everyone lol,

  • @sDsTriplexXx You're exactly right. He's so strong, that when he played for the Ravens he was their full back. How can you be the fullback when you have Jamal Lewis on your team? Who is bigger than Jamal Lewis!? PRIEST HOLMES!!!! Even though he was 5'9''.

  • @FredTaylor28Fan

Priest Holmes should be in the the hall of fame.

  • @ChampCarforlife Yeah he should.

  • a complete class act, a true back who worked his ass off. Its crazy to think this guy wasnt even drafted.

  • I want the old chiefs back

  • Yea I miss watching Priest fallow Richardson for a TD

  • so do i my grandma says they should bring back all the really good players but dont take out jamall charles

  • @mikecoleman16 or Dwayne Bowe.

  • Priest Holmes... a touchdown machine with ears!! KC Chief for life!!! 2001 NFL rushing champion!!!!

  • man i wanna c some more runners like him

theres too many speedy backs now

  • i agree. just teams with 2 speedy backs and one fat guy to goal-line run it. Priest did it all. Ran inside and outside. ran in goal-line situations and just normal drive situations. LT was a finesse back but he could punch it in the end zone. But priest was something. Its crazy that he wasn't even drafted.

  • ya beasts like priest r very rare now

  • @pumprock93 Jamaal Charles

  • @pumprock93 I'd have to say the closest back to him would be Michael Turner.

  • Thanks for the vid, and good song too.

  • Too bad he could not come back from the injury. One of the best runners in the red zone ever.

  • I'm a niner fan, And I know the chiefs arent THAT bad off.

When it comes to talent yall got a lot of potential in Bowe and Charles.

And I feel you give Cassel another quality receiver and a line to block for him and you guys could produce at a high level.

defense...Well...Vraebel coming into his 14th year...and uh...Good luck with that lol.

  • @bjr92 Derrick Johnson, Eric Berry, Tamba Hali, what are you talking about.

  • The Chiefs franchise is in trouble. Deep trouble. This is not the time to have a bad football team. People will stop going. Perfect example. Today's game was the first blacked out Chiefs game in 20 years. They need to get it fixed. Fire everyone and start over. Haley included.

  • @redlinerockdaddy

Ya but keep charles, bowe, hali. And get Tony back. Then restart every thing over

  • Thats the dumbest thing I ever heard. So your saying fire everyone AGAIN and start all over AGAIN. You realize when you fire every one it means you are going to suck AGAIN. They have Weis and Crennel now so they will be that much better of a football team now. I'm already excited about it. You need to learn that every team is going to suck at some point in time and firing your head coach after just one year is the most foolish thing you can do. What was our record before Haley? 2-14.

  • couldn't agree more, I believe in Haley, especially now that we have Weis and Crennel. He just needs the right people to fit and the Chiefs will be fine. You're right every franchise will suck at some point, the Chiefs are just rebuilding.

  • yea we went down hill after roaf hopefully we will re-cover

  • Good old days.

Trent Green Willie Roaf Priest Holmes Tony Gonzalez etc

The best lineup the chiefs will ever have

They could have done more with them

  • We will be just as good.

  • @KansasCityKing1962 they got them all to late, well they got trent to late, and then well Roaf had injury problems at the last 2 years he only missed like 3 games but he was playin through pain, and we had no key WR playmakers or a defence, we had the best offence in 2003 better then the colts but the 32 best defence and the colts had the 31st defence won the game for the colts lol the Colts

  • @sDsTriplexXx Are you kidding, YOU GUYS ARE ALL FORGETTING TONY GONALEZ!!!!!!!! HE IS THE BEST TIGHT END EVER!!!!!!! The Chiefs also had Dante Hall and Eddie Kennison at WR.

  • @KansasCityKing1962 If only we had somewhat of a better defense

  • @KansasCityKing1962 you got that right bro i love this time im from nc and im a true fan of the chiefs i hope we prove to everyone on this monday night that we are for real and beat the dam chargers!!!!GO CHIEFS:)

  • @KansasCityKing1962 Dante Hall 2 -___-

  • @ProStyleNJ FOR THE FOURTH TIME DON'T FORGET TONY GONZALEZ AND WILL SHIELDS !!!!!!

  • @KansasCityKing1962 dont forget dante hall.

  • @sizzurppp DON"T FORGET TONY GONZALEZ AND WILL SHIELDS!!!!!!! WHAT THE HECK IS THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE!?!?!?!?

  • @KansasCityKing1962 That's very true.. But u cant 4get about Dante Hall on the returns :)

  • @KansasCityKing1962 don't forget Tony Gonzalez, Dante Hall, and Will Shields!!!!! :)

  • @KansasCityKing1962 YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!!! I FINALLY FOUND A COMMENT THAT INCLUDED TONY GONZALEZ!!!!!!!!

  • @KansasCityKing1962 Dante Hall.

  • @KansasCityKing1962 and don't forget Will Shields, he will be in Canton once he is eligible.

  • @KansasCityKing1962 mr Dante Hall

  • @KansasCityKing1962 You mean Roaf, Brian WATERS, Casey Weigmann, Mr. Shields , Tony G. T RICH. with a Good SMART QB Trent Green but a legendary back with Priest Holmes that was our time... shoulda had one Super Bowl outta that team.. But sh*t happens

  • @KansasCityKing1962 They did everything they could with them... problem was zero d... I mean in the playoffs vs colts there wasn't one stop on D. It was the most amazing O-line/RB combo since smith/dallas long ago.

  • just a cruel reminder of how far the Chiefs have fallen..

  • haha f you... but its true

  • I like the song and the video

  • HE WAS THE BEST

  • Priest Holmes is the coolest

  • man those games were so fun to watch because he was on their team sniff

  • i miss the old days

  • Could've been one of the greats if it weren't for Shawn Merriman's bitch ass

  • he is still one of the greats, but not as great as he would have been. i think he was on his was to break one of emmit smiths records i cant remember what it was tho

  • consecutive 20+ TD seasons

  • Comment removed

  • Priest holmes was a hoss, he went to my middle school and my high school, ive met him twice so fuck yall saying its just his oline he was fucking good

  • Everybody knows he was good, he was great, we just saying that his OL was a huge reason for his success. He would tell you himself i bet.

  • our o-line was sooo good priest put up 4 rushing tds and sat out the next half for respect of atl... then blaylock came in and did the same thing in the same game!!! good o-line or super, mega bad defense!!! lol you be the judge!

  • Lol i think they ment that his online played a big part in his success, like Joeseph stated, and plus. Just because you met him TWICE doesnt mean anything about how good he is lol twice is not alot if you havent noticed

  • Honestly, i know i didn't put that saying Holmes ran behind nothing, could have been my cousin, that was dumb.

Look at the blocking he had. My cousin knows football, but what he said was dumb, i even put a thumbs down. Sorry, i know football.

The sweep play was great that Shields and Roaf ran.

  • For a while, there was nothing more unstoppable than a Kansas City sweep play with Roaf and Shields leading the charge. It's a shame the Chiefs never had a decent defense to back up that amazing offense of there's.

  • thats true they did

  • Imagine the records that would have been made... more records made, if he never broke his neck

  • no offense priest was great but it wouldnt'v been too long for LT to reach those records

  • true, but compare Holmes line to Ladanian.

Chiefs weren't the worst at the line, but they sure as hell was at the bottom.

Now Tomlinson has a great OL, i see better, but he has the 2nd best line in the league, so that helps.

I believe LT is talented, but not on Holmes level. But that's just my opinion.

  • OK man I'm a huge chiefs fan and I want to support Priest but you are dead wrong with that statment about our O-Line. That was one of the best in NFL history. Willie Roaf, Will Shields and John Tait at the same time. Are you kidding me!!!! Shields was a 12 time pro bowler and Roaf was an 11 time pro bowler. Not to mention center Brian Waters.

  • brian waters is not a cener he is a guard or tackle, casey weigman was the center remember

  • sorry you're right

  • Brian Waters was our center? News to me! Think Casey Wiegman.

  • That just proves you know NOTHING about football. Till this day, I don't think I've seen an offensive line as good as the Chiefs had when they had Holmes.

  • The Cheifs O-Line was actually really good and probably better than Lt.Willie Roaf could be a hall of famer and maybe Willie Sheilds also.

  • Well your opinion is wrong. The Chiefs had a dominant offensive line when Holmes was in his prime. Maybe the best in the league.
