im making this right now and good lord does this type of soup/recipe taste HORRIBLE! Garlic, pumpkin, curry, cilantro? awful mixture, I'll probably never make this again but im not giving up on it yet, im going to add some sweet potato to the dish and re-blend it. If not then its going in the garbage..i like trying out new things though but just not this.
Why not puree the pumpkin cubes first when they have been freshly cut and then add them to the stock in the pot. Should it make a difference (if the aim is to have a smooth soup without any chunks or bits of pumpkin)? Reversing the procedure as I have suggested removes the need to put hot mushy pumpkin into a blender and reduces the danger of potential explosions of steam (and flying pumpkin mush).
duh.....there are sooo many diff kinds of pumpkins! Some are suited for cooking soup, some for pie, some not for either. This video assumes and expects the viewer is stupid in hopes that the ad revenue will still be produced. Overall, disrespectful. Some of the videos on this channel are good and sound, others are just shite.
i find pumpkin soup is better when spicy... this recipe follows more along the lines of a pumpkin pie. i find using cayenne/curry/and red pepper flakes makes for a much more enjoyable warm soup especially during the chilly autumn weather.
in asia, we make pumpkin soup by using ingredients such as onion, garlic, lemon grass, bird's eye chillies, red chilies, peppercorn, crushed dried shrimps, and finally cook all of them together with thick coconut milk. of course you need water... the result is simply the best!
Hi thanks for sharing this delicious pumkin soup. your demo is so clear that I was readily sure i can do it and I did. I came to the US from Philippines for just a couple of weeks and your video helps me prepare a great soup for my sister's family whom I'm now staying with. thank you!

Perhaps the reason why ppl use onions is to bring out the sugar in it to sweeten the dish slightly

Watch out that the blender doesn't explode on you when you pulse the ingredients. Let the soup cool before you go in.
