I don't think a record says everything about a horse though. As you rightly say the effect he has had on an entire nation is beyond compare.

One of the best movies.... I really like Towering Inferno, he is big and beautiful.... Not like "Ruffian" cast, they are ponies.... :-/ We all know how she looked.... They done perfect job with role of the main caracter...

phar laps mother was purchased and exported from the UK by a NZ breeder ,his father had also been a dud on the race track in england and was sold to Australia then to the NZ breeder Mr A.F.Roberts whose stud was at Timaru .there Night Raid served Entreaty and their 1st foal was called Fortune's Wheel their 2nd foal was Phar lap their 3rd foal was Nea Lap their 4th foal was Night Guard their 5th was All Clear 6th foal was Friday Night and their last foal together was Raphis .

Indeed. Though he came to Australia as a yearling and it was only after 2 years of intense training by Telford his lazy nature was curbed and he learn to run. It is impossible to say if he would have done as well with another history. I would say he was a joint effort.

I agree, Seabiscuit might be cinematically superior, but Phar Lap is just better. Both are awesome, though.

This is a great movie, and I think anyone would like it.
Phar Lap, was an extrodinary horse, who no one thought would win it.
Even in the end years, he was still strong.

if Phar Lap raced for an australian stable he was australian. it's different than football

its not different from football, its the exact same concept. he was born and bred in nz, owned by an american. he only had his races in australia which he raced for himself. nothing to do with australia
