Dr. Gabriel Dassa is my dear friend Jack Dassa's son. RIP Jackie :( Jackie loved to sing and was even offered to sing with a group and he refused. He sang Doo Wop by the corner candy store on Boston Rd and Wilkins Ave. He never missed a Doo Wop show. Loved his music. His son followed in his foot steps with the music. You sing beautifully Gabe.
GO DOC!!! The leader is my doctor. He performed surgery on my hand. I didn't know he could serenade during surgery. Lol I mean who wouldn't want that. Look at him.
Fantastic job! What year was this? I went to Lead East from 1988 to 93 sat there and caught every performance, tons of groups. Even the Motel was full of groups singing every where, what a doowoping time!
No one ever thought that going to school had anything to do with, "getting discovered." We sang where ever there was reverb... sometimes with our eyes closed listening to that one sound as it would chill our minds and warm our hearts. Those moments meant more than anything.
This was a breath of fresh air. Loved it. If anything positive could result in Obama's take over of the airways, lets hope he gives Doowop center stage on those airways!
Long live Doowop!
Hi to doowop_lover_diane!, and doowop_record_ junkie!
@SonnyJug11 did the guys singing on this video put out a single version of the tune i think it's better than the one from the film i would love to get old of a copy if they did
Larry Chance did not write this song. The song was written by Butch Barbella for the movie "Bronx Tale" If you look on the Larry Chance CD the writer's credit is Butch Barbella. Do a little research before you make a comment!

@Letiziap20 ...molto bella, anche se è una versione "rallentata" dell'originale che faceva da colonna sonora al film "Bronx"...
