  • Is Christopher Plummer really singing this?

  • @BattyKellen Yes Christopher Plumer is singing and so is Phillip Glasser

  • I watched this movie with a friend 2 years ago, and still sometimes i have it in my head! <3 it

  • Justin Beiber ain't got isssssssh on this song!

  • The first time I heard that Bieber kid coming out with a song called Never Say Never, I thought, "That little puke stole that title from American Tail!"

  • Perfect pick-me up.

  • There are two inseparable: music videos and Bieber comments. No, make that three: music videos, Bieber comments and comments complaining about Bieber comments.

Anyway, I saw this movie even before I saw my first Disney movie, so it's very dear to my heart, and this musical scene is my all-time favourite. I thought the female pigeons were beautiful, and I was a bit disappointed when I couldn't find birds of matching pastel colours and fluffy forehead feathers in ornithology books. :]

  • this film will NEVER get old!!!!!

  • i think justin bieber came up with his song Never say Never from this...

  • this is the only never say never that shud predominate it's genre.

people are shitheads in these days.

  • This is the french version.

American version: I WILL NEVER SAY NEVER!

    Me: -_- french version.....

  • @CloneComander1138 The speak perfect english for this to be the french version...

  • I loved this movie when I was a kid. I want to watch it now.

  • how come when i looked up this song earlier all of the search results were bieber songs?

  • I wish i had all the american tail movies. (Mann I miss watching them.)

  • Fievel, Alucard, Dante (Devil May Cry), and Vincent Valentine (FF7) were once apart of the away team, and survived.

  • @SmilingProtoss you make no sense at all my friend.....

  • @DjAdam16 None of my jokes do...

  • I wish I still had my videotape of this movie...

  • @tvwatcher1220 You can easily buy the DVD for it, if you don't have the movie at all. ;)

  • Why the hell is Justin Bieber in the suggestions???!!!!????

but I love this song so much(:

  • @sarahweirdo5 because he made a song titled this, but this is much better.

  • @sarahweirdo5 bc this song is called never say never!!!!! #hestoleit

  • Cutest mouse EVER!!!!

  • My sister had a rabbit called Fievel

  • justin bieber playjerized this song

  • @MajesticStarAndrew I don't think he was singing the same song...

  • Love this song :D 1 of the best songs of my childhood, brings back memories :D lol i remember trying to sing along to it haha...failure lol

  • We watched this in my high school history class today.

    My teacher is awesome.

  • As much as I hate Bieber, quit complaining about him. Besides he isn't the only singer with this title, what about The Fray?

  • Like this if you find fievel voice cute :)

  • hehehe i was playing portal 2 I NEVER finished that last co-op test chamber and I NEVER finished it and who ever will say NEVER SAY NEVER im sorry its soo damn imposible

  • I'm so sick of "An American Tail" each time Chris Plummer or whatever his name is singing that annoying song over and over again so I decided to smash my favorite videocassette to pieces with a old broom and moved on to Blu-ray Discs from Universal City Studios, Inc. and Illumination Entertainment (I recently own Despicable Me).

  • :) This song is so supporting.

  • And I realized.... Justin Beiber ripped off a children's film in the 80's.

Baby music for a baby singer

  • @aug325 Thank you. Good thing I did not insult him about his film online. Yes, I got to contact him.

  • I remember watching this as a kid , I would sit on our couch at our apartment and watch it. For some reason , this song used to make cry as a kid. I don't why , I guess it was the melody , plus the fact that Fievel was seperated from his parents. It always made me homesick. Man , I was a strange kid. Funny how you remember things like that years later. Anyways , good memories! I love Christopher Plummer and this movie.

  • Awesome song. I would like to hear this at the Oscars. :)

  • Comment removed

  • I love this movie and this song, but i unfortunately found out the beginning of this melody is a rip off of Jean Sibelius' Symphony No. 5 in Eb Major written in 1915.

it's the main theme of the finale movement, just much slower in the symphony version..

i recommend looking that up on youtube, it comes up about a minute and a half in

I heard it by the Atl Symphony Orchestra today and almost found myself singing Never say never in the middle of it.

  • @lemonpickles I knew I'd heard it before, my friend was humming that particular part of Sib-5 and me being ..the less educated one haha thought she was humming never say never just slower I'm glad i'm not the only one who realizes how similar they are.

  • DAAAAAMN YOU JUSTIN BEIBER!!!!...you try to ruin a classic with your being gay and all that..

  • @NinjaFoo777 The kid's dream is being soiled while his dicky film overpowered this amazing song. Actualy, this song has always overpowered that dicky film.

  • I love Christopher Plummer's voice in this and in Rock-a-Doodle (bad as the latter may be).

Can anybody tell me what he sounds like in current movies like National Treasure, 9, Imaginarium and Up? I hear he's getting pretty old now.

  • When i heard that Justin Beiber sang a song called "Never Say Never" i was like "Oh hell no "An American Tail" did it first"

Same singer as the guy who played the candle in Beauty and the Beast?

  • @phanfinger

No, the one who voiced the candle in Beauty and the Beast was the late Jerry Orbach. The one voicing Henri is Christopher Plummer, best known for playing Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music.

  • @1987AnimeBoy ah yes thank you

  • @1987AnimeBoy Wow I guess I'm not the only who knows this information :3

  • @1987AnimeBoy Also voiced the Duke in Bluth's Rock O' Doodle. Which I loved his character in.

  • Great song and it should be used for my future Oscars show if I ever succeed in my moviemaking career.

  • ahh classic. memorable lyrics, catchy tune, good message behind it, and a source movie that is arguable one of the best animated films of the last century.

    ...

    SUCK IT JUSTIN BIEBER!

  • Keep up your courage, don't ever despair

take heart and then count to ten.

Hope the best, work for the rest

    and never say never again!

The American way. Make it happen.

  • we just watched this movie in history because we're learning about immigration. this boy has been singing it ever sinced we watched it, three weeks ago. we're all in highschool :D

  • I don't really like this song, but at least its still better than Justin Bieber's tune, since it has more musical tune to it.

  • This is a much better song than Justin Beaver's. :)

Hooray for great songs like this. The singing is classic. Why can't people like Bieber understand that real music is made from the heart and not just being famous. His heart, however, is soiled by the media like Ben 10's.

  • Much better than Bieber's version. lol

  • @Skankindragon1 LOL!

  • @BelovedCaptain you know. That he's right

  • @Skankindragon1 wait wait wait... are you telling me... that justine bieber attempted to 'sing' this song???

  • hey, never say never! @ibainesy

  • @ibainesy It's a different song called Never Say Never.

God fucking damn it, can you all stfu about Justin Biebz? Seriously, I really don't like him, but this bullshit hate is really annoying.

  • @Skankindragon1 The original is better than any other version 99.9999999999999999999999% of the time.

  • @Skankindragon1 Justin killed this song! Henri and Fievel did better I agree

  • @Skankindragon1 BEST YOUTUBE COMMENT OF THE YEAR

  • optimism always has greater outcomes than pessimistic, something everyone needs to know.

  • Is the bird in American tail the same voice as Thumbelina 1994?

  • @btheadtrip I know right? I always was like, why is it practically the same character.

  • am I dreaming, or has he a little, little french accent?

I loved this cartoon when I was a child, and I still do! ; )

  • @talakanash Yeah the pigeon is supposed to be French, since I think it was the French who brought us the Statue of Liberty. :)

  • @BelovedCaptain Correct! I think french should make more statues, less crappy FAMAS's and Lebels

  • @BelovedCaptain the pigeon is voiced by Christopher Plummer

  • @hackensac He did? I had no idea!

  • @BelovedCaptain it was

  • I NEVER hated this song...XD

  • Never say never, that's what everyone should say.

  • Wow! Christopher Plummer in this movie doesn't sound anything like the Grand Duke of Owls he voices in Rock-A-Doodle years later. Very talented. :3

  • @BeachballSU

In his review of rock a doodle the nostalgia critic thought christopher plummer was forced into making the film. He even used the footage of the family pushing the car and encountering nazis with dubbed voices.

  • love that soundtrack,i you a soundtrack colleter

  • love that soundtrack,i you a soundtrack colleter

  • love that soundtrack,i you a soundtrack colleter

  • Yes I did. Christopher plummer is a great actor his most famous role is captain von trapp from the sound of music.

  • @Charade31596

It's not Jerry Orbach I'm afraid. The voice actor is Christopher Plummer.

  • This movie is a definate upper when economic times are tough. Be glad of the things you have, but never forget to keep trying to get better! It's not easy, but the payoff feels so good! :)

  • It's Christopher Plummer from Sound of Music!

  • Did Mr. Plummer appear in Up (rated PG) as Charles Muntz?

  • Yes. He also did the Grand Duke of Owls from Rock-a-Doodle.

  • @dolphinluv2413

Is it his voice, too, when the Duke was shrunk by Chanticleer("Hunch, it's me. Uncle Dookie!")?

  • @hugh0221 I'm not sure.

  • I love this song but it always used to make me go "lolwut?" (<--- paraphrased. XD) when I was little because "if you're supposed to never say never then why do they keep saying 'never' in the song?"

I asked my mom but I can't remember what she told me. XD

  • i want the soundtrack

  • Nostalgia going on here...

  • Me too. *hugs this movie*

  • i am 24 and own the movie on VHS

  • trip down memory lane

  • Love that song, so cute! ^w^
