I'm thinking about switching from ubuntu(gnome interface) to debian (with gnome interface hopfully)
which is better? i have a feeling debian is better.
anyways can someone give me feedback please, im new to linux, ive been on ubuntu for 4 months now.

I'm going to get a newer Toshiba laptop, shrink the Windows 7 partition down to like 20 GB then install lots of Linux kernals just to have them... Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE, Mandriva, Mint, and Debian.

Hey, you ought to modify your /etc/X11/xorg.conf...
Next - restart your X'Y - CTRL+ALT+Backspace or:
# /etc/init.d/gdm restart
To run compiz use:
$ compiz --replace
