I was browsing through available cell phone games and came across this today. I'm like, ok.. i loved new gen and was tremendously curious what this game is like, so let's throw away $7, what the heck. to my pleasant surprise, the theme song came up. NICE! to my even greater astonishment, as i was playing the intro stage, more robotech theme music PLUS it plays like raiden, you can transform the jet into a battloid like herzog's zei (claasic game from sega), can you say AWESOME?!

@tubernery It's actually pretty awesome for a cell phone game, the switching modes adds some strategy and we spent a while making the explosions look sweet. I did the art (at the company I used to work for) and loved Robotech growing up. Management asked me "Hey do you want to work on a game, it's some license kind of like Transformers...Robot something? Robotech?" I was like ":O :O :O OMG yes." haha

@tubernery ya, but I pretty much just traced screencaps of the characters from the show to make the pixel portrait versions. Harmony sent us all the DVDs for New Gen so I'd have them running in the background as I worked, fun times. :) Got a little toy robot too, but I lost him when I cleaned my desk once haha We had to sneak the cinema scenes in because we didn't technically have time for them in the schedule but the proggers on the proj were awesome and we put in some extra hours for it

the only problem, judging from the preview, is that there doesn't seem to be any benefit to transforming. I could be wrong though. Still looks fun.

You get a more rapid fire by transforming.

@jahmal99 In Battloid(robot) mode you shoot faster and the screen scrolling slows down so enemies spawn slower. Good for clearing out mass amounts of enemies or changing modes when a boss reveals a weak spot! There's no Guardian(gerwalk) mode though 'cause we had really limited space to work with on the weak cell phones.
