Actually, if you read Church history books and not some bogus website, Justinian (as all the emperors did) was simply MAKEING OFFICIAL what the CHURCH had concluded after much debate at the Church Council. There was no cowardace at all. Justinian had his own weird beliefs but did not impose them onto the Church.
Very interesting video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am very sorry for the loss of your son. I have a similar thing going on and it strikes me the coldness with which people answer "he's going to hell" whenever anybody even questions anything, it's disturbing! This by far would make more sense than the usual belief of eternal hell and torment. I hope you have found peace within yourself and wish you the best!
I totally agree with your position on the eternal hell doctrine. The scriptures do not support it. The belief that there will not be an eternal consequence for rejecting Christ is not supported by scripture as well. God will judge every individual according to the light they had. Some will be judged more severely than others but the ultimate result will be the same. They will be no more, as if they never were. They will be ashes. If you would like to study this out with me let me know.
you would have believed me for he wrote of me. Lets now go to Jn3:17,18 For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He that believes in him is not condemned, but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in name of the only begotten Son of God. Jn9:39 reads: For judgment I am come into this world, that they that see not might see, and they that see might be made blind.
Jn12:47 is used as a proof text to support the “all will be saved doctrine. It reads: If any man hear my words and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. Jn12:48 reads: He that rejects me and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. Jn5:45 reads: Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: Moses who you trust already accuses you. Had you believed Moses

@potooth The word judgment in this verse is krima #2917 in the Greek. It means the effect of or the result of).The ultimate purpose of Jesus coming into the world was not to judge the world, but to save the world. However, the coming of Christ brought light into the darkness of men's hearts, and as men accepted or rejected that light, they pronounced judgment upon themselves. The light itself(Jesus) judges no man, but by it, those upon whom it shone were judged.
@potooth God isn't vindictive or a tyrant. He doesn't want anyone to die the 2nd death. Those who never heard the name Jesus will be judged according to how they responded to the wooings of the Holy Spirit.
Jn10:27 Jesus said my sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me. Jesus was addressing the Jews but he speaks to all men. Some hear him and some choose not to hear. There will be many surprises in heaven. In Acts17:30 Paul was preaching in Athens. He revealed (cont)
@potooth to the listeners who the unknown god was. He said; "And the times of this ignorance God winked at but now commands all men everywhere to repent." God doesn't judge us for what we don't know. But once we know to do good and willingly choose not to we're in essence rejecting Jesus. Keep studying. We all have so much more to learn and understand.
Jn12:47 is used to support the all will be saved belief. We must take a careful look at what is being said here. Jn12:47 "And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. Lets read the next verse. Jn12:48 "He that rejects me and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. Lets now go to Jn5:45 Do not think I will accuse you to the father: (cont)
It seems you're switched on about the errors between the teachings of the church and the actual religious dogma of the bible. You may be interested in looking up some of the 'made up' facts of the Bible - especially concerning hell. Much of what we think of as the cliche heaven and hell was mostly designed by artists in the medieval times, without any supporting doctrine.
I lost my brother year ago I was just learning about this when it happened. I learned about this before I got on the internet. I thought that I was the only person that knew until I found all these people online.
The word hell just means the grave. Acts 2:25-27 in the King James says that Jesus would not be left in hell. So hell is not a place of torment but the common grave. John 5: 28,29 shows that all people in the grave will be resurrected, those who were good and those who were bad. I hope this helps.
I came to the same conclusions after losing my mother 5 months ago. I am so glad god showed me these things. My life is so different now...I miss my mother so much but I think I've learned not to judge people and how to love more from her death. I am still only in the first stages of greif but the lord has comforted me very much. God bless you and sorry about you're son.
LOSE YOUR RELIGION, i know it is nice to believe in something more powerful and a happy place to be when you die, but seriously face reality, there is no fucking god for christ sakes. Wake the fuck up, becoming an athiest and really dig deep into science and finding out that all we are are useless bacteria on a rock. That seriously are we are, and we are only smart because we are consious about most;y everything, people don't matter, nothing matters and not because we are small.
Your video is a blessing and also very touching. Many Christians have not suffered loss, and they simply believe what their pastor teaches them.
I believe God is good, much more than what we see in most churches today. He doesn't make garbage, He loves ALL His creatures equally, and He will help us to know Him better in His own time.
I will die an eternal death. The dying process is painful and will continue to be painful while I'm in the process of dying. But once I'm eternally dead I will be eternally free. The old selfish, cruel and weak Bradley will be no more. The new Bradley will be brave, strong, gentle and kind; someone just like Jesus. Because God loves us he will destroy that which destroys us (i.e. sin).
Hell is where "unless you forgive you will not be forgiven". We all will love God and our neighbour.
Read The Jerome Conspiracy by Michael Wood, it will clear up a few things.
Eternal damnation can't happen, one day we will see Judgement Day, when God calls every single soul, living, dead, lost, in Heaven, Hell, everyone to face Judgement, how can the ones in Hell now be there eternally, when we are supposed to face Judgement in front of God in the future ? Its because its not forever.
Good luck on your journey Paul. I'm glad you have the courage to sail on your inner morality-compass. Regardless which way you swing from there, your stance is so much more humane, more so than the Christians who feel compelled, or even at ease, to justify Gods decision to send unbelievers to Hell for eternity.
Thank you. I have always had a problem with the whole concept of eternal damnation, it just goes against all that the bible teaches about the love and mercy of God. I cannot believe God created humankind knowing that the vast majority would spend eternity being tormented in hell. There is no justice in infinite punishemnt for finite crimes. Unfortunately many Christians who would criticise me for saying such things, most have never thought it through.
their teaching is unwittingly based on the miss translation of a couple of words and the influence of ancient greek and egyptian religions, that did have a concept of etenal damnation. It was used to keep the common people sudserviant.
@ticobassie Most Christians are aware of hell & that God is love with no contradiction! God NEVER condemns eternally. It isn't His Nature- it was man's interpretation of God during ancient times. You are stereotyping. NOBODY is magically transformed by whatever their faith, however, sin DOES go against His Laws, yet within the consequence is the key or the fact those Laws purge the sin or correct the error & after that the soul progresses.
I'm sorry about the lost of David. I too have lost a dear loved one - my Mom. After her death I also started to wonder about the doctrine of eternal hell. I wondered why would God create people knowing that most of them would go to hell (according to what I learned in the Bible). Since God is all knowing He knows who will get saved and who won't before they're even born. And since He is all powerful He could create a world in which only those who are going to get saved are conceived.
Having been a physician who watched as gang members survived multiple gunshot wounds, and the little old lady crossing the street gets killed by the drunk driver. Right on regarding the necessity to follow the Scriptures.
God is a jealous God, and we are to save our vengance for Christ's judgement. Re: children, God Blesses their little souls. Even when He was tired, Christ always wanted the children around Him. Their innocense and their souls will forever be young. Dr. Margaret
It appears we have some things in common. I lost my 16 year old son last September. His name was also David. For many years I accepted and taught the common Christian teachings. When my David died I couldn't simply accept that David was in heaven as all my christian friends said, but I was unsure of David's faith and had to consider the alternative. I scrapped all that I believed and approached scripture with no preconceptions, if that is possible and began to search for an answer. cont....
Why did this happen and what has become of David. While I still have many uncertainties, my eyes have been opened to the possibility that God will show mercy on all. I have been leaning toward the belief that God is reconciling all things to Himself. So it appears that our common experience has brought us to a similar place. As I hear what you have dealt with it's as I was hearing myself over the last year. Thank you for the video.

It contradicts so many verses of Scripture - I'm currently doing some videos about it.

Why would it be wrong for God to decree what He wills? You are denying the sovereign power of God over all His creatures to do what He wills and how.
