Apparently, I have been missing so much, thank you very much truecrypt for this intepretation new to me and also the details about the artist. I second beethoven4ever 's request: it would be nice to be able to listen, here, to more pieces by her... .
Dear Truecrypt, if you are still accepting "fan requests", may i please ask for more Virsaladze? Her simple and yet profound musicality is quite addictive.
Alexander (Sasha) Korsantia is a good pianist, but he is not even close to Eliso's level. BTW there are MANY superb Georgian pianists, f.e. Alexander Toradze, Eteri Andjaparidze, Eliso Bolkvadze - just to name a few. Korsantia is one of many excellent Georgian pianists, but Eliso Virsaladze is high above all others.
I don't remember hearing a performance (of any piece) that highlights the work's architecture quite like this. really, an incredible salute to the form of this work!
I had the chance to hear her for a Mozart recital in Antwerp and it was exquisite, not any one taste fault, fresh, original.
This recordings suits me perfect ; the moderate tempo gives this piece a kind of noblesse that is lost with a fast tempo where it becomes a kind of joke, like a public critic of somebody ridiculous !
if you have clicked on dislike button on purpose then you must be an idiot

I'd love to but... you know - there are certain issues with contemporary performers. I'll see what we can do though... ;)

It's not by chance that Virsaladze's Mozart was once called 'mystic'. She elaborates fantastically Mozart's minimalist yet transcendent music.

Wenn Mozart diese Interpretation gehört hätte, hätte personlich für die Frau Virsaladze komponiert :)

"If you want to achieve much, never hurry. You should feel as if you had all the time in the world. Only a free person has time for everything..."
Just quoting the words of her grandmother, and she sure takes all the time in this Mozart! I would like to hear her play in concert...
pianopera 4 years ago 3
...and you probably can! I understand she is teaching in München and still performing. Her Mozart and Schumann have always been *something*!

I tend to prefer faster interpretations, but this quotation was great, and Eliso here is at most respectable. Liked it very much.

she actually is very good. i heard her play Rach3 in recital and I have to say though im so sick of it i was tottally a gasp at her imagination

Well,I definitely don't feel that this compares with Yudina...BECAUSE...she believes that it's incorrect to use time in Mozart!
How sad,BUT...She certainly makes great use of articulative shadings & dynamics.I'd like to hear her playing this with Authentic
performance practice.That would be something!
smithsherman 4 years ago
Je ne sais pas si Yudina fait mieux, mais ma chatte, Natalia Alexandrovna Walewska, est incomparable pour ce qui est du toucher.
