  • I want to learn this so I can sing it to my fiance, who is welsh ;w; <3

  • to hathor100...Mae'n drist eich bod yn teimlo ei bod yn angenrheidiol i ddangos eich gwybodaeth am ychydig o hanes Cymru yn hytrach nag yn mwynhau y canu hwn yn llais hyfryd. (too bad you had to show off your scant knowledge of Welsh history rathether than enjoying the lovely singing)

  • @studioprod oh, vejam lá o ILUMINADO..faz lá mais gracinhas , ça serais magnifique, was denken sie?!! lo pienso que lo mehor es que te CALLES

  • great voice wish we could watch her sing it ...

  • she sings it a bit too fast, but she has an amazing voice anyway, the language is ancient gaelic.

Huna blentyn, ar fy mynwes, clyd a chynnes, ydyw hon...

  • @hathor100 thought it was welsh.

  • @VioletteChevre in the ancient times Wales was not a country, was simply a part of the nowadays UK, the language spoken there was Gaelic, and the people were called Gaels.

  • @hathor100 I don't know what you mean by 'ancient' but Wales was a country of it's own way before 1200 B.C, and the song is Welsh :)

  • @hathor100 The UK has only existed since 1536 and in it's current form since 1949 with the Republic of Ireland Act. Our nation existed long before we were conqured by England and became part of her UK. Also we have NEVER spoke Gaelic or been called Gaels. We are Brythons, not Gaels and our language comes from Brythonic not Gaelic. The Gaels and the Brythons are two seprate branches of the Celtic tree. The Irish, Scots and Manx are Gaels. The Welsh, Cornish, Cumbrians and Bretons are Brythons.

  • @converter7 I was confusing it with Scotland, I know languages are not the same, I was thinking of year 530 A.D., so welsh is a modern version of what language???I like your history a lot and anything you can tell me will be welcome, ty.

  • @hathor100 fair enough, your forgiven lol. In 530AD Everywhere south of Edinborugh in Scotland was the land of the Brythons (accept the terroritories of the newly arrived Anglo-Saxons in the south-east o the isle who were begining to push north at this point, they became the English) The Brythons or Britons are the ancestors of the Welsh, Cornish, Bretons and Cumbrians. They spoke Brythonic which evolved into Cumbrian (spoken in southern Scotland and northern England, now extinct) Welsh (spoken

  • @hathor100 in Wales, the English Midlands and western England), Cornish (spoken across the west country in cornwall, Devon and west Somerset, extinct but being revived in Cornwall) and Breton (spoken in Brittany and surrounding areas). English is the most recent language on this island, arriving in the 6th century. It was spoken across modern day England by the 18th century and across the whole island by the early 20th century. The Welsh were the last to learn English, with the last generation

  • @hathor100 monoglot Welsh speakers dying in the 1980s. Today, everyone above the age of 5 can speak English in Wales, since the children of the Welsh heartlands where the community and first language is Welsh, all learn english in schools. Today 1/3 of the Welsh are bi-lingual, with that number growing to 1/2 for under 16 year olds and everyone under the age of 16 knows both languages to varying degree's

  • @converter7 Thank you, I understand it now, all the best to you :)

  • @converter7 Really, where do you get your statistics from? They appear to be inflated compared to the Welsh Government's assessment of the language, which seems put the total population of Welsh speakers at little more than 20% Even this figure is heavily caveated by the government which lists learning Welsh as a second language as part of the statistics. I'm Irish and have frequently seen Irish nationalists inflate the popularity and use of Gaelic. Seems like you are doing the same with Welsh.

  • @VioletteChevre It is Welsh

  • @hathor100 Huna blentyn, ar fy mynwes,clyd a chynnes,ydyw hon...!!!

Yn wir, dim ond i chi gludo yn y geiriau caneuon. A ydych yn gwybod dim byd am yr iaith (you cut and pasted the lyrics. Do you know nothing of the language?

  • I agree. A bit too fast.

  • The Empire of the sun Verion was a WHOLE LOT better. This goes too fast like she wanted this song to end.

  • nice version 9/10

  • She looked really good, then she decided to get a tan and it all started to go wrong...

  • It would have been nice to see pictures that fit the words, Even if she was the one singing this version.

    Nadolig Llawen / Merry Christmas.

  • @Ynysmydwr thanks

  • Do not fear the sound, its a breeze

    Brushing leaves against the door.

Do not dread the murmuring seas,

    Lonely waves washing the shore.

Sleep child mine, theres nothing here,

While in slumber at my breast,

    Angels smiling, have no fear,

    Holy angels guard your rest.

  • @zninbgky

Sleep my baby, at my breast,

Tis a mothers arms round you.

Make yourself a snug, warm nest.

    Feel my love forever new.

Harm will not meet you in sleep,

Hurt will always pass you by.

    Child beloved, always youll keep,

In sleep gentle, mothers breast nigh.

  • Sleep in peace tonight, sleep,

O sleep gently, what a sight.

A smile I see in slumber deep,

What visions make your face bright?

    Are the angels above smiling,

At you in your peaceful rest?

Are you beaming back while in

    Peaceful slumber on mothers breast?

  • When i was in 7th grade i had to sing this

  • to fast

  • @zmijan1 agreed.
