ive downloaded the same link millions of times and it still doesnt work. in various other tutorials the saved icon on the desktop is different than mine. mines is an .zip file and even when i extract it and hit the shift+restore thing i open the folder and there are empty folders but when i open them in the desktop i see that they are files in there. what am i suppossed to do. i dont understand how come everyone elses is working and not mine.

it worked for me but this is what i did i downloaded the 2.1 and then i restored my ipod. when i tryed to update it (holding shift) i got error 6 but when i restored it (holding shift) i selected the 2.1 update and it took a while but it worked

yeah but it gets backed up in iTunes, so after you install 2.0 or whatever, it will re-sync everything, unless you deleted them from iTunes

ok thats a common one you need to be sure to be on the latest itunes then then unplug your ipod from the computer and restart both ipod and computer (just hold both power and home button for a bit(it wont do anything just refreshes the ipod))then try agin it should work but if not tell me

the 1403 error means that you didn't fully download the file. it happened to me. make sure when you download the file, you are getting he whole thing. it should be 225 mgb long

That comes up because the itunes driver is fucked up, so basically u gotta figure this out cause im not typing it all out.... right click my computer hit manage, disconnect and reconnect ipod, whatever pops up right click and update from file, then just click program files, itunes drivers, and hit open

it will install and therefore no more problems

Ok well first off are u running on mac or pc(Truthfully i dont even kno0w the basics of a mac so i dont thing i can help you there)? Second of all are you using IE or Firefox(use IE)? Lastly did you restore your pod first of cause i know it was later in the vid that i showed how to do it. If any of this doesn't work let me know and ill give you more suggestion.
