  • One of my favorite tenors. He sounds his best on a stereo recording

    he made about 1960.

You can find live opera performances of Baum on the Opera Lovers site.

One of the few great singers of the 1960s I never saw on stage. For

some reason, when the Met traveled on its Spring tour, Baum

    never caught the train.

Once the Met started TV broadcasts, the tours were canceled.

    Tnx 4 the post.

  • This Kurt Baum cannot forget us Giacomo Lauri-Volpi with his smooth voice !

    Hans NL

  • I agree and his high C's where never thin and tight and he also could sing lyrically, check out his ah si ben mio aria and Scriabin song .

  • Thank you VERY much for sharing this scena with us!!!!! The whole album (on Remington LP) featuring Baum is equally outstanding!!!! A good, solid, steady, dependable artist was Kurt Baum - and he would command TOP dollar as a first-rank star today!!!!!!
