  • AG Systems.

It's the same ship I use.

  • Nice job, very impressive.

  • Did you go to school for this? If so can you tell me?

  • It looks like an amarr frigatte in eve online =) NICE

  • If I could do this in real life... :(

  • Looks cool, I want to buy mine and keep it in my garage!

  • I hope the next whipe out game will be more like Forza or GT.

Think about it, you by a ship, then you can trim the engines, trim the wings, trim the height it will fly over the ground.

Then you can hire a second pilot that will fly for you and then train him in cornering, speed, when to (or how late) to use the air brakes, how much to bank in corners m.m.

Then the graphic need to be like this a little bit, where you can "test" the ship in the hangar and see the dust blow up and all that.

  • That really is very well done. I love it,

  • cool

  • @andywhiteley Wow its very smooth. if i put CG objects in they always seem to wobble :( But in boujou everything looks just fine. Can you tell me what i am doing wrong?

  • they look much bigger than any F-Zero cars

  • Well done, but I have a question: do (did) you guys build to scale or is everything just kind of...? Because that looks a lot larger than I always imagined! Also- are you working on Wipeout Vita (2067 or something...) Thanks

  • Sony should have hired you to design WipeoutHD. The guys that made that game seriously ruined the entire franchise for me. The tracks look like crap, the music sounds like crap. & what's up with the ships. Why can't thay put two thrusters on the ship like in the original wipeout.

  • HEY ! Why are u filming MY CAR ?!?! joke !

  • I would so buy a game made with that level of detail.

Maybe that special vertex models (atom clouds as it has been called recently) could make a game using these high detail models in a high detail environment possible? You don't interact with the ground anyway :P

  • awesome.....very realistic, i´m trying get this effect on my comps.....

  • Click 'Show more' for more info on the animation. No tutorials were used.

  • which softwares did u use?????????????? and where did you get the tutorials for this ??????/ thankssssssss

  • That is really awesome... O_O' just one thing: the proportions are wrong. Wipeout ships are not this big, compared to the pilot in the cockpit...

  • wow you really made the Wipe3out ships ?

that's fantastic i played that game for so many hours when i was a child i cant thank you guys enough for making a really great and classic game that i will never forget...

if anyone didnt know also the Wipe3out website is still up and running im rather surprised about that

  • How did you get the reflection of the ship to display in the windows on the building? Assuming the windows were part of the live footage?

  • @boogieFiggins I used a reflective set of polygons to create the reflection of the ship in the building windows. The element was then composited on to the live action plate in After Effects.

  • @boogieFiggins Another method that is possible is to take a panoramic image of the building and it's surroundings and use it as an HDRI map. Look up some tutorials on it and I'm sure you'll find some, this can create very realistic animations.

  • Oh yeah yeah, but I mean overall. Really? No shit. As a hardcore fan, this is definitely great to talk to someone who designed the ships. Is there anything that inspired the way you designed the ships?

  • Ugh I don't know why they didn't keep your Wipeout 3 design. Its definitely my favorite game out of the series and my favorite version of AG systems. Much more better looking then Wipeout Hd's design of AG.

  • @Shorty15c4007 The game features my sleeker design, but I preferred the chunkier beat up battle version, so I thought I would create it anyway.

  • @andywhiteley

So you also designed the Wipeout Pure/Pulse/HD/Fury version of AG systems?

  • @Shorty15c4007 No, I only designed the Wipeout 3 ships, but I can see my influences in some of the designs of the newer games.

  • @andywhiteley

Oh but of course they'll have to keep some designs off the older ships. Seems like Fiesar kept the same look ever since the first wipeout lol.

  • @Shorty15c4007 I changed the look of the Feisar for Wipeout 3 so it had more of a triangulated and streamlined back, which has been carried through to the newer versions. FYI the original Wipeout & Wipeout 2097 ships were only around 50 polys!

  • I always pictured the ships about the size of modern day Cars.. this changes the way i look at the game now lol. anyway i always pick AG Systems. And i like your vids :)

  • Wow, this looks fantastic! The motion tracking is done really well - did you add in the camera shaking in post?

  • @hungryhype thanks! Boujou was used for the tracking.

There's no added camera shake in post, didn't need it ;)

  • This is so amazing! Great work man!

  • @daleywhaley89 Thanks for the positive comments!

  • Hah, I can't even express how awesome this is! You should try and make a full movie of a Wip3out race! That would be so cool.

  • Really great vids! Big thumbs up! I was one of the lucky few who got invited to Studio Liverpool, to see you guys at work. It was truely amazing. We also could beta test Wipeout Pulse and Wipeout HD in 2007. Greetz Mad-Ice

  • Awesome to the max, man!

  • SWEEETT!!! WipEout 3 is probably my favorite WipEout thus far. The ships are way bigger then I imagined, though.

  • I designed the Wipeout 3 ships while at Sony, although this video was entirely created and shot by myself out of hours for my portfolio.

  • Thanks for the comments!

I taught myself modeling, animation, rendering, compositing etc on my own pc while at art college and in my spare time.

  • that is epic. can you tell us how you got started doing this sort of modeling?

  • @andywhiteley You do this as your job, right? Cant be your hobby, this is so awesome, unbelievable, beautiful, amazing.. cannot descripe your work with words, your just so good :)

  • OMG !!! That's so awesome.I can't believe it.It looks as profeessional as a Star Ears movie^^.

Maybe you want to watch one of my little test footages

  • @nelaqua What's Star Ears?! I wantz a copy.

  • Awesome!!! Love it!!

  • brilliant
