@bdcraze2000 your trying to dig me out arent you, i use the music stand for two reasons, when i sing in my other band (yes i am also a vocalist there are videos on my channel to confirm this) i use it to put my lyrics prompt folder on low down by my monitor at front of stage, when i'm not using it for that, i use it for exactly what you can see on this video... i put my ipod on it so as i can flick between songs nice and easily.... i honestly can't read music!!

LOL everybody fails when trying to cover this song's drumming. It's fucking hard. For one, John Bonham simply keeps pressing the high hat pedal, and what you hear as a tom tom beat is actually the bass drum.

Let's remember that Bonham never used the double bass pedal at all.

i couldnt agree more, tho i do give as good a go to the track as possible, there are just things i'm never gonna replicate, or i'll play it with a different technique. but i like this as then i am not just trying to perfectly clone a drum track. it is my interpretation, which makes it unique to me!

i struggle with this one on a single pedal, so i worked it out on the double, the main thing is that it fits the track, which it does, so i dont think it sucks, as for the cymbals, they are now history, got some Stagg DH's, brilliant and exoctic mix, which for the money, ie no where near as expensive as Paiste, Zildjan, Sabian etc, sound awesome.

Thanks for posting this, thecornster. I've been so focused on using one hand that I never would have thought to use two hands on the hi hat! BTW, sorry if you've been asked this before, but what is that contraption on top of your hi hat?

thanks for the good comment, the "contraption" is a maltese cross mini cymbal. under each section of the cross there is a small loose cymbal, like the type on a tambourine. so when you play the hats with your foot, you get that extra little noise. Bonzo always used a similar one on his kit, but his was round in shape. stay cool dude.

I've never seen the Maltese cross mini cymbal--very cool. I am familiar with Bonzo's version--when I was a young drummer (and wanted to be John Bonham), I clamped a tambourine onto my hi hat. The ring of the head was just as loud as the cymbals so I cut the head out with scissors. This didn't in any way help me to play like Bonham, but it did ruin a perfectly good tambourine.
