@ClaireMusicLove would be impossible not to memorize such velocity and reading from a score like "sight-reading" en français ; une lecture à vue est impossible a ce tempo.
thanks for the kudos, yes despite the mistakes i decided to put it up there because in general the spirit seems to be there, and this remains important to me..once again thanks for the encouragement!
Ok, there are a few mistakes. But show me one person who plays this without mistakes. I certainly would not be able to at even one sixteenth of that speed.
This piece is beautiful and you executed it quite well, good sir. I like.
this was one of the hardest pieces i've ever played. Theres a couple nasty sections that I'll need to improve my overall touch before I can play the whole thing comfortably
Thanks for uploading this. Really love your playing. It has really communicated that spirit of RAGE to me. You see, im currently filled with angst at the moment & i find emotional release in listening to rage and angst filled music like this. Tis like im all alone but i dont feel alone cos there is something or 'someone' (the music) whom i can relate those feelings to & who 'understands' how im feelg at that moment.
thanks , that is quite the compliment..as for the two pieces you mention, they are on my list of pieces i would like to do eventually...i should be posting something new in the next little while,i tend to be very picky about what i post, hence the long gaps between postings..thanks for the encouragement!
Wow, you are very talented. We're like piano twinkies; I also love Mozart K332, 3rd movement (it's my "show off" piece, yay!). Appassionata and Pathetique are my favorite sonatas, though...can we watch you play the first movement of the latter? :D
Here's the critique part: You seem way too composed (thinking too hard?) to be playing this piece, until around 2:15ish; then we start to see more of the real you for a bit. I'd like to see you really let go!
thank you...at some point, i will get back on the touring circuit, just want to spend some alone time with the piano these days working on various things. thank you all for these encouraging comments ;-)
It's well deserved as I prefer your dramatic and human touch over the lightning fast and "correct" interpret.'s here and there. Finally I found a interpret. I can listen to without thinking "meh".
you are correct that it is too easy to fall into the trap of playing this piece like a czerny etude..it is a very delicate balance of keeping the rythmic drive but yet finding the way to make the music breathe, expand and contract and without sounding mannered.
in fact as i listen this this version again, i plan on redoing it at some point, the allegro non troppo is a bit too fast...it should be a bit more controlled..however, i can say i pretty pleased with the coda...not an easy thing to play

is this harder than Pathitique 3rd movement? I just want to know.. if i can play this..
ekdus9720 2 years ago
It's much much more difficult than Pathetique 1st Movement.
Pathetique is the piano performer's diploma grade (DipABRSM). Appassionata is 2 notches up. Hope that helps.
