The world is flying with the Jetsons, not rolling with the Flintstones. Yabba dabba doo. Under Federal Law, you can't deny anyone communications. School is not a jail or prison. Cellphone is a FCC regulated device and children have rights to communications too.

He is absolutely right, there was a world before cell phones. I am an elementary teacher and it is parents like that woman who make teaching one of the most difficult jobs these days.... her with her sense of entitlement. We need more people thinking like the professor. If a parent needs to contact their child during school hours, call the school, that is what the school secretary is for!

Cell phone possession could never be ban, it is the use of cell phone on school our that should be imposed. CELL PHONE SHOULD BE OFF DURING SCHOOL HOURS. After the school it can of course be turn on. Parents always want to know how their kids are. What they want to eat as soon as they reach home, by cell phone. When to use and not to use should be the topic.

The ban is definitely necessary. Student grades are already low enough at my school, the last thing we need is cell phones to distract people even more.
