Great playing and great action for an upright ! Maybe it's just my playing but i could never get repeated notes that fast on mine they just dont spring back up as fast :(
That was great! So different from the original, but still retains the flavor. And your playing was so light and lively with lots of personality.
I have actually never heard the original Horowitz, I've listened to lots of his music but I've been concentrating on Old Horowitz. So I guess I'll have to now!
And thank you for sending me this video a while back. I don't know how you found me...but I appreciate it! Sorry it took me so long to reply...
Yes, I've learned one of the "published" versions of this transcription. That's why I was asking 'cause I've never heard anything like your playing before ^^
I learned it many years ago by repeated listening to Volodos' recording. at the time that I heard his recording I couldn't find the score for it but I liked the arrangement very much. The only way I could learn it was by ear, so that's what I did. Now there are scores available but the way I play it is different from the scores if you analyse my playing carefuly.
Thanks so much for posting this. Lang Lang plays the same version, only doesn't give credit to Horowitz and I'd been dying to know why my repetitive C# section didn't sound the same. I wish Urtext would've included this option in their pull-out. :)
impressive !

I don't think there would be an urtext edition of Horowitz' arrangement. there are two versions of the score available and they are different.

very original speed, I like it. Not my favorite but its defiantly better than most of the "concert" pianist tripe out there.

bravo! an original creative and playful take. more breathing space than horowitz's too-compressed recording.
