Kiev is the internationally accepted spelling. Like Moscow is spelled and pronounced Moscow, not Moskva, as it is in Russian, and Germany is Germany, not Deutschland.
It's thanks to Russia that your city even exists on the map, you ungrateful drones.
Pick-Pocketing does happen. I remember my grandfather I always used to tell me, and still does to put my wallet in the FRONT of your pants pocket. Its safer that way.
Anytime I go to Kiev, I try to always be aware of my material possesions not to be stolen.
Its very easy from the subway system being so rocky when your on it.
And this comment suddenly remind me of the film "MoneyTrain" where Woody Harrelson is on the New York Metro keeping a huge amount of money in his front inner pocket in his jacket. An old lady snatch him on all of it. He discover it all when he say to another guy who has just been pickpocketed "the best place to keep your values is right here". The phrase is followed by a shocking face expression when he realise he has just been robbed, lol!

It's one of the nicest subway system I have seen is in Kyiv but the stairs are so steep, it's scary when you are drunk. :)
