Man...for almost eight years I was almost driven crazy by curiosity as to what the Sleeper's Tomb looked like. I read every bit of lore I could find. All I knew of it was from screenshots, which were almost always of the monsters. But now I finally know. Thank you.
...P.S.: I can't get over that you're wandering in there by yourself XP back in 2002, when I stopped playing, the thought of doing so was just crazy.
zomg! how do you put up with such craptastic graphics? i loved eq and try to get myself to play again, but after several years of WoW, its hard getting used to playing the old graphics. Even though i love WoW, what sucks is no character progression once you hit level cap, i miss the AAs of eq. but still gawd those graphics...
@graft13 lol, you are one shallow bastard. Ill admit, wow is cool in the graphics department, I like the art design, but more important is the...y'know... ACTUAL GAME. WoW is too noob friendly
Sleeper's Tomb is what made me start Everquest so long ago. The lore behind it is amazing. I would kill to tour the tomb with a group right now. I retired from Luclin when GoD came out, but the nostalgia will always be there.
ironically, for many years SoE left him unbeatable~ I remember the closest anyone had ever come was a alliance of 3 - 4 guilds on one of the pvp servers. ended crashing the server from what I recall - at least that was how the story went heh.
Yes, the server did crash (the GM's shut the server down because they believed there was a bug with The Sleeper's encounter), but afterward they brought the server back up and the three guilds once again tried to kill him, and after about 4 hours (no joke), he went down. This is the only kill of the Sleeper, I believe.
I'd love to see more great videos like this. Your commentary makes it so much better :) Show me more of Old Everquest!

@graft13 hmm, I was of the opinion that original eq graphics are actually superior to WoW graphics, I never liked the cartoon look myself.

Well it came out great, and yeah I remember those mobs being pretty badass in the past when you had a group, gotta be a pain solo'ing lol.
