Teehee! My health teacher taught me about hormones and stuff! For some reason, my periods just up and stopped happening. I thought 14(13? Forgot!) was too young for menopause. Could MS cause me to stop having periods? Sorry for so many comments on your videos, I'm just really worried and curious. :)
@TheKyleecow Hey! Don't ever apologize for writing comments! I don't think MS has anything to do with a period stopping, but I would definitely talk to your gynocologist. Good luck!

having the period is not fun at all and it was like having a disease for me because I was sick pretty much every month. Now that I have MS, I don't have period problems any more..It's like they took turns tormenting me!! First it was the period, now it's the MS! :)
Yes, it's not fair at all that women have to deal with these problems. Thank you so much for explaining to men and to people in general about this problem. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher!
Hello!! Thank you for saying that Angela! I'm sorry that you used to have problems with your period, and now with MS. That's not fair :( I hope you're feeling well though!
Hi Lauren, I have been watching most of your videos and your amazing. I was diagnosed with MS this June of 09 and I have been til this day shocked but learning to deal with what I have. I would like to know if you have ever wondered about Stem Cell treatments outside the US? Im curently taking Avonex. I am not sure how all the medicine works because I still have all the basic symptoms blurry vision and numbness. I Hope you are well God bless you!
Hi Jorge! Ihave thought about stem cell research but I know that it's very expensive and until it's more affordable I can't do anything about it. I'm taking Tysabri and I'm doing very well so I'm happy!
Wow i never realized that MS got worse nearer TOM; i just thought that it would of been "normal" hormone swings.
I was wondering if in the early years for you if some of your MS symptoms had almost seemed to of gone away but stayed in a different way? I have my nuro appt in Sept, I hope he listens to what I have to say. I would like to know when it's NOT hormones or stress?!?!
PS that crazy lady should of bought you a camera - maybe she was PMSing
Yes it does - pretty badly too...for me anyway. Yes my symptoms have stayed in a different way, and it continues to change but since I've been on Tysabri things have gotten better! I hope your neuro listens to you too. Good luck with your appointment.
Hahaha you are so funnny...maybe the crazy lady was PMSing!!
Lauren ty so much for the video. I was diagnosed with MS like 2 years ago and diagnosed again with a more severe type of MS less than a year ago. I have all the simptoms MS sufferers have but when I have a flare -and it happens quite often - they are very heavy and often leaves me with a new and severe disability and at about my period time I do get all those symptoms you said, even the eye thing which is kinda weird -and scaring because it also happens when I am having a real flare (continues)
so it is a bit hard for me to know a true flare up is happening but then I figure what's going on in few days lol. Ty so much for the video, it was very helpful! :)
Thank you for your comment! It really helps me to write everything down because I can figure out if my eyes are worse closer to my period or not. For me it's like clockwork - if my eyes are getting bad then I know my period is coming. Maybe that could help you?
awesome video! yes thats so true about symptoms increasing wit your period..this also happens to my mum who's lupus flares with her period. hormones definately play a big role in autoimmune diseases, thinking about it, female patient numbers far exceed males.
Thank you so much! I agree - hormones play a role in all autoimmune diseases and female patients exceed male patients. However, male patients suffer a lot too which just makes it unfortunate all the way around :(
Yes - this is my biggest whinge every 28 days! (ok for 4 days out of every 28!!) If I must have MS can I pulease forgo my monthlies?? No? Ok well I guess it's a matter of acceptance and getting through the day! Great Vid Lauren - going to send it to my hubby! Love Kerri xo
Hi Lauren, Yes you are so right, in my last job i worked with 23 women and no other men .... so i know how it goes !! I just have to ask if you are feeling particularly well at the moment, because: I don;t know if its your new hairstyle or anything else but you positively GLOW these days. You look SO beautiful !! Anthony is one lucky, lucky man and I hope you remind him every day !! Much love to you and yours.
Hi Tony!! You are so sweet! I have been feeling wonderful lately...that's so nice of you to notice! I really appreciate you understanding what women have to go through as well!!
i have been watching yours, and Vern Beachy's videos for about 5 or 6 months. They are very good and very helpful to understand ms. Hope you will keep them up, I look forward to each new one.
Hi Dean! Thank you so much for writing! Vern and I actually just met! He's a wonderful person and I watch his videos too! I hope you're doing well and I hope to keep in touch!

Thank you so much for your comment! I agree, it is helpful to understand how men and women deal with MS differently. I hope you and Tommy are doing well!
