How come you have to go through all this trouble to attach the head to the body? Don't you just put the head on the neck, and then you're done?

The head is intended for a doll strung with elastic, so no. It makes it a little harder, but it does make for excellent posability. :D

Wow this is really helpful the paper clip bit looked scary tho I'd be scared about piercing the vinyl. The DD body looks awesome I'm gna have to have a look at them and try and find a match for my Nanuri 07 WS head at some point.

Do you think this method would work with the key's or not at a guess I suppose you'd have to do the process in reverse and string the elastic through her head and out her arm or something.

Hi! I was just wondering, where can you get a DDII? I already have a DOI Luke that is going to arrive this month, so I know about BJD's more or less, but I have no idea where to buy a Dollfie Dream! Am I supposed to get them like the new limited Gurran Lagaan ones, in a pre-order? Someone please help!

You can buy them from Volks' USA store, either through their website or at the actual store. You don't need to buy a limited doll -- the bodies are available for sale by themselves!

If you go to the store website, under 'Dollfie Dream' (in the second column, next to 'Super Dollfie'), there'll be a link for 'Basic Body'. You can also buy the heads, or a basic full set (Aoi and Yukino), and optional parts. It's all under the same menu.

MDD uses the same head as DD if u buy it separately,

And hv u seen a DD before??

It's body is very light and it is very soft.

Dollfie Dream normal or basic skin matches CP/Luts normal skin, correct? ^^;

I think they're a pretty close match, but it really depends on the resin batch from CP. My Juri head (from 2005) matches perfectly, but my Shiwoo (from 2007) is a bit pinker, although I think that color wouldn't be too noticable against the DD2 body.

I've heard whiteskin tends to match more consistently (but I'm not 100% sure). :3

no, obitsu bodys have a neck tab at the top of the neck that would make this method impossible. If the neck tab is removed then the body would just go limp on you. There are other methods for attaching a resin head to an obitsu body

The head and the body are from different types of dolls. The head is from a type of doll that's hollow on the inside, and strung with elastic to make it posable, and the elastic attaches to an S-hook in the head.

In short, I could've just stuck the head on the body...but it wouldn't have stayed on. ;)

YES. a tutorial. I dont have the money order dollfies, and probably will be able to get one soon, but this tutorial helped me get the idea of how to customize a doll. This will help in the long run.

Just keep in mind, this is ONLY for the Volks DD2 bodies, which aren't the same as regular dollfie bodies...if you like the body, though, they're much cheaper than the resin ones, and so you don't need to save as much! ;)

The DD2 bodies are available from volksusa dot com for $231 (not including shipping) -- they don't come with a head, it's just the body -- and resin heads are available from a multitude of different BJD companies. n_n

Look at the forums on denofangels dot com -- there's more knowledge there than you can shake a doll at. ♥
