I love the smell of a clod running tuned diesel in the morning, SWEET!!!

They run bad and smoke because of low compression in the engine, they lower the compression in order to use higher turbocharging pressures boosting the available power up at full throttle.

also because of the injectors they run, they are for higher power so only spray properly at high flow, so at idle they just kind of dribble.
