Cookie's the little protector of the team. Here with Jordan, and a few days ago with Kris Letang. No one has posted Jordan's puck to the face recently, but if Cooke was out there, I have no doubt that he would have helped him. It's nice that he's (sort of) reformed.

@leogpalmer soccer players can have pretty bad injuries if they fall the wrong way/bad luck. i saw a video where this player broke the leg of an opposing side player b/c he was in pursuit of the ball and thought he was kicking the ball. i don't see a lot of injuries when it comes to hockey players tho just freak accidents. During gamesthey get breaks unlike footballers who have to play the full 90 mins plus OT in big competitions. so I wouldn't necessarily say soccer players are "drama queens."

@leogpalmer I never disregarded the fact that hockey is a very rigorous and dangerous sport. However, my point is, not all hockey players get a puck thrown at their face. If so, it was an accident but it's nothing like being injured all the damn time. I realize that something could go wrong in the sport of hockey, but there's a bigger possibility out of the grass when footballers don't even use pads to protect themselves. It still hurts cleats or skates, pads or no pads.

3 safety rules i think the NHL needs...

1) Everyone is required a cage.

2) Padding on the skates is required.

3) Fight stops if helmet comes off for any player.

no but players shouldn't be forced to wear cages, padding and have fights stop when a helmet comes off, they know the risks they're taking every time they step on the ice and they obviously all prefer it this way. many players (shot blockers) do wear padding on their skates also, it just gives a player more mobility without all these things...
