Does anyone know is this to install windows on a computer that currently has linux (ubuntu). Windows xp died on my comp so i installed ubuntu but would prefur windows/
i did a complete install of ubuntu, but want windows back, as i was just tryin ubuntu. I have a windows recovery cd, but it just comes up with files, no kind of install option or anything.
hey! i have exactly the same problem... have you worked out a good solution for that problem?? i think that a new cd of windows (not recovery cd) is necessary..
@SuperAmp1990 Yeah, i fixed it by the way, when you boot up your pc, go to the BIOS settings, by hitting F12, but it differs on different machines. then set it to boot the CD Drive before the Hard Disk Drive. Put the recovery disk in, restart the computer, and your away. As simple as that :)
@NirvanaRox4Eva thanx. i made it, but i cannot find a driver for my wireless adaptor. i have a dell n5010 and OS : windows xp professional x86 - 32bit service pack 3. and on support.dell.com i find drivers only for windows 7 :(
@DeeaJack Hmm........ When I used the restore disc on my Toshiba, the wireless card just worked :S Try just searching around the web, using the network card brand and see if you can find anything?
What if you just had a power failure downloading an update from sp2 to sp3 for xp and sysem 32 was corupt? Any way to open Ubuntu partioned corectly to copy pasta a new sys32 dir?
How do u do it Exactly, with out using a xp CD? Cause i really want tot repair my XP But dont have one. Do i have to use that ubunto and ISO Stuff to do it?
I downloaded a Windows XP pro ISO to reformat my pc and while it was installing, I got an error message telling me that a component couldn't be installed and the installation couldn't continue. Is there anyway to recover my old OS to download a different ISO?

When I go to places>computer my hard drive isn't there. Only generic multi card and file system.

I suppose so, If you can find the new sys32 dir. while in ubuntu, you can compy and paste it to your C:\
