You cant compare these guys and Thomas Erak, so much of what Thomas was good at was pop influence, singing while playing, and use of effects, while these guys are better shredders and more fast paced. Different concepts, similar tone and chording

don't like the tones and it's sometimes a bit chaotic this way for me. The playthrough with either of them is just AWESOME, with that tone and audible guitar sound from camera, but this is too digital for me.

i know exactly what you mean. the fall of troy's instrumental part on the holy tape at 2:04 makes me think of sonic the hedgehog too. and chon is heavily influenced by their tone and chording. they're obviously better than thomas tho

no, i'm just a guitarist and i know by judging the technique you hear in this vs the fall of troy that these guitarists are more versed on the guitar than thomas. maybe you are the fanboy.

@TruNikkaz I'm a HUGE fan of both bands. Thomas is an amazing guitarist. So are these guys. I imagine these guys are better, but seeing as though The Fall of Troy is not an instrumental band... their music isn't so heavily reliant on extremely difficult, technical guitar (Even though it is). We may not have seen the full extent of Thomas Erak's playing ability... still though, judging from what i have heard (Every FoT Song) (Every CHON song), CHON's guitarists are MORE THAN LIKELY better.

@TruNikkaz Thomas was the only guitarist in The Fall of Troy, AND he did the vocals. Don't get me wrong, CHON is great, but you're comparing TWO guitarists whose only focus are guitar to ONE guitarist who also has to do vocals at the same time. That's a pretty unfair comparison if you ask me. You are kind of a fanboy.

i was unclear on what i meant, i meant they are better than thomas at guitar. there is a giant gap in technique between these two young musicians and thomas' playing on any of his albums.

i'm comparing them as guitarists. not musicians. but to think i would compare them in the way you are saying is ignorant, because otherwise it's opinionated and cant be proven.

there are many bands and musicians that i am a bigger fan of than chon, at the time of me uploading this music, no one had it up. i thought they deserved recognition. i am a big fan of the fall of troy and meant nothing against them or thomas in saying that. i'm just a very big technique enthusiast, and typically comment the way i did solely on technique.

if that makes me a fanboy then i guess i'm a lot of other dumb shit that people say as well
