@ecwecwecw1 Well when Kid loses he abandons everyone to go train, and that leads to Kid's Muscle Gravity, and his development as a fighter. If Kid won, like he does here, he wouldn't feel the need to train as desperately as he did when he lost. The manga is still going on, but it's implied they are going to end up together.

Okay, remember when Kid fell to the Olap? That's when the match ends canon-wise.

@zedfenix Because America continued UM, Japan cancelled it before this arc. So the anime team behind this series had to adapt to 4kids' demands. After this arc (Kid Muscle loses in the comics), starts the Demon Seeds, which is an extremely brutal arc. Asuraman/Shivano gets his face severed, cuts off his own leg, and Mars is literally microwaved to death. Turbinski even loses his head, Hanzo gets stabbed in the stomach by stone. Think 4kids could cover THOSE?!

@zedfenix Read the comics, volumes 22-29 (21 has SOME demon seed in it, but not a lot.) Notice how the fights are very brutal, and very graphic, and very, well, dark. Here's the cruelest thing (to me) that happened. Kid and Kevin tagteam on top of a Demon Spinal Column, which is made of dead Muscle Leagers, including Kid's grandfather, and Kevin's ancestor, as well as Turbinski, Hanzo, BarrierFreeMan, and Mars. That is so messed up that any version might change it.

Too bad they never continued making more episodes based on the manga. Hell, even if they made a new Ultimate Muscle series unrelated to the Manga but still involving all these characters it would have been great. I still think Kevin Mask deserves at least another rematch.

Notice how Doc says that "Not a single soul" has escaped the Big Ben Bash? Well, that's wrong. In the last round, in fact, Comrade Turbinski escaped from it.

Also, Van Dik says that Kevin used the arm twist right before the Big Ben Bash, but that's wrong too. Kevin never used the Big Ben Bash on him, he caught Van Dik on his foot after that setup.

This fight was epic because of the moves and the two fighters being near dead even. I mean the two cancelled out each others best moves;

Kid-Muscle Curtain/Kiniku Buster also the 3.0 or Inverse Kiniku Buster/Muscle Millennium/Kiniku Driver

Kevin-Royal Stretch, Tower Bridge, Big Ben Bash and the spinning counter move that he used against the Muscle Curtain.

Also they both went full power turning Gold and Blue man that was a good fight! Though I would have preferred Kevin winning.

If so that is a bit clicque that the main character would lose for the first time due to distrust of a past opponent and his coach for the moment sort of short-changed the main character at the last minute. Meat choose his replacement so that should have been enough for Kid to trust him.

@DrLazaru Well the Muscle Gravity is the strongest move in the series since it combines the power of the Kinniku Buster, GForces, and that leg hold. Also, the Ikemans, except for Jacqueline, hate the Muscle family. The would want it to continue since Kid was technically still "fighting." In the comics, Kid Muscle's Muscle Millenium gets countered by Kevin bending his body backwards by insane amounts and catches Kid in mid-flight. Kid loses the match and goes training.

Even though Kevin was a dick I still think that they should have gone by the manga and had him win. The fact that Kevin worked hard and didn't take forever to attack his opponents is why I believe they should have followed the original story line.
