I'm not sure. Nothing on the level of the anime DVDs but I guess you could include anime merchandise... wall scrolls, figurines, etc? Some Pokemon stuff. Not sure what else there is.

I can't really choose any one favorite but I did narrow down to around 22. The Ah My Goddess Movie, Brigadoon, Chobits, Geass, Figure 17, Fumoffu, FMA: Brotherhood, Gunbuster (both), .Hack//Sign, Kanon, Kino's Journey, Magical Project S, Mahoromatic, Haruhi, Nausicaa, Evangelion, Princess Tutu, School Rumble, Gurren Lagann, Unico in the Island of Magic, Voice of a Distant Star, and Zegapain.

I generally prefer dubs but a couple series I prefer subbed.

Purchases? According to DVD Aficionado I've made around 3,373 purchases. According to my media servers that's a total of 4,993 + 294 = 5,287 discs. Both totals include my hentai purchases as well.

It's a 55inch Samsung LED TV. The computer stuff is kind of difficult to explain since there are a number of them.

The current setup is a little premature since I haven't begun setting up game consoles nor the switching/splitting mechanisms so I can also video capture all of it.

But, in a nutshell, there are many ways to plug a computer into a TV. Usually TVs just have the plugs you need (VGA, DVI, HDMI) but some video cards also have Component output (you will need to split your 8mm audio to RCA, though) and you can convert VGA to composite with the right adapter.

Wow, you're not kidding. The price really is going up. I do see some options, though.

On E-Bay, somebody with a decent rating is selling it new for $60.

Two sites called Anime Castle and Otakufuel are selling it new for $45 and $40, respectively. (I don't know them but I once bought something from Anime Castle.)

Otherwise, you could wait to see if Funimation's new One Piece "Collections" matches up. (Collection 5 is what you'd want but that'll probably be in 7 months.)

Woah, most copies are going for over $100 now, new or used.

Looks like there's a $30 listing on Barnes and Noble at the moment. I find the listing suspicious, though, since it looks like someone selling through B&N and that seller is also selling a Used copy for $140... so why is the New copy so cheap? Hmmm...

I suppose Patlabor Movie 1 and/or a VHS of Princess Mononoke are technically the first anime I bought but the collection didn't really start until I decided that I had to buy Evangelion. Before then, I wasn't sure why somebody would buy a series on DVD. Then, I had it and had to get all the anime. Well, all the stuff I liked. It grew into "everything" over time.

Only about 1/3rd as much... somewhere around 3100 to 3200 DVDs (counting discs... purchases somewhere around 2000.)

It's been my dream that, if I should die young, my anime would be donated to a local library. That would be pretty cool. :)

Nothing really wrong with it. Animation is simply a medium to tell a story. Japan simply makes a more varied use of it than when you and I were young. :)

I'm 26 years old and I enjoy anime.

Oh, and I introduced a lady much older than I (50-60?) to an anime called Brigadoon (my favorite) and she was losing sleep to watch it. :)

Depends. I do tend to re-watch stuff, whether by showing to a friend or suddenly getting the urge to re-watch something. (If I didn't have so much new stuff I wanted to watch *right now* I'd be re-watching Mahoromatic.)

That said, I fall behind on stuff to watch, so I usually don't even "watch and put away." More like "put in the pile of stuff to watch" and eventually see it *then* put it away... ^.^;;
