  • i dont have an appointment letter or booking number and my test is monday, HELP!

  • @ProudToBeANerd You don't need to bring your appointment letter to your test.

You can check your appointment details by visiting directgov . gov . uk / changepracticaltest

  • Yay, I Had my Practical Test Yesterday, Was So Nervous! SO Pleased to say I PASSED! Proper chuffed now!

  • All you need is your License card and Counterpart driving paper license, and you Theory test certificate.

    And ofcourse a car.

  • I have my practical test on the 29th September !! I'm taking it in my parents car. On the DSA website it says I need to ensure that the all round vision for my supervisor is adequate, I think it is. Is there anybody who could confirm this? It's a 1.2L Fiat Stilo 16V. Also, Will I need anything extra other than the L plates for my test? Thankyou !!

  • @potnoodles90 u will need L plates + an interior mirror for the examiner, there are some cars with faults and if ur car is on this list u will not be able to take the test, i have seen this happen before, u can go into the test center there will be a notice on the wall telling u the faults on cars, if ur car is on this list it will tell u what the fault is, ex bonet catch, u will need to provide proof that it has been checked, if in doubt ring the examiners bell they r more than happy 2 help,

  • Nuramoboy, they don't want people making mistakes on the road, as believe it or not you COULD kill someone, so if you make a serious mistake that's it.....you fail

  • Can anyone tell me the driving license requirement for international students having no international driving permit.

  • @seauryakumar : Yes, if you are from a country (mostly EEU, I think) that has a driver's agreement with the UK, then you just go in to the DVLA and show them your Driver's License, and they issue you a UK DL. If you are from a country NOT in agreement with the UK (almost anywhere not in Europe, sorry US also), you must go through the entire process that a new driver has to do.

    This includes:

    Apply for a provisional license

    Take the Theory Test

    Pass the Practical Test

  • @seauryakumar :

Note: you are allowed to drive in the UK up to 1 year on your foreign Driver's License. BE AWARE: you will find it VERY HARD TO FIND INSURANCE if you do not hold a UK DL. Get that application in for your provisional as soon as possible, and then you can actually hire a driving school car to take the test with.

Please let me know if this all helps,

    Rswimmer01

  • i have got my test tomorrow i have now watched this 3 times lol i hope it helps me out :)

  • why having serious and dangerous fault then? if you get one of it you fail, why dsa not leaving at least 2-3 serious to fail or 1 dangerous? because I believe serious and dangerous are not equal so there should be at least 3 serious other than 1 to fail.

  • I think its not fare for the money we pay and the results,If you go on your own you will always fail as no one is there to challenge, why dsa don't provide 2 examiners so at the end faults are compared? I went for mine and failed while I believe I did things correctly, the examiner told me I did not indicate, while I did most of the time except where there is no one or car followed behind of front or where there is a sign,I could n't challenge because I was on my own and my brother left 4 work

  • Passed yesterday! 6 minors 8D

Wondering about Pass Plus now. Can't wait to be driving on the motorway =)

  • This probably sounds mad, but I'm not looking forward to the vehicle safety check questions XD I don't know why, as I know the answers to them, but I'm probably going to forget what's what XD

Thanks for this video. Very useful

  • This video is really helpful, i watched it the night before my test and was fully aware of what was expected of me.

i passed :) first time thank guys

  • i just pass weeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wooooooooooooo !!

  • This helped me make sure I knew what to expect today - I passed!

    Thanks guys :)

  • @Philosoraptor06 Congratulation on passing your test! I'm really glad that the video helped.

Now that you've passed, are you thinking about taking Pass Plus training? You get to take six modules which cover things like motorway and night-time driving. At the end, you don’t take a test, but you’re given a certificate which could entitle you to money off your insurance – just check your insurance company supports the scheme.

  • does taking this pass plus scheme really knock alot of money of ur insurance.

    (1000 POUNDS ! SURELY NOT!)

  • passed other day, 3 minors

  • i passed mine two days ago! with 7 minor faults. Now im trying to find a car insurance for my hundai accent 1.3L. Im very unhappy about car insurance, can't find enithing less than 2500k a year!!!! I have a poor job, just cant insure it. Basicly im F..ked!!!!!!! Im 19y old. And i tryed to look for a Corsa under 1L insurance, it still shows not less than 2k a year. So my driving licenses are ussles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tukasas Take the pass plus scheme , its around £120 or so and reduces your insurance by about £1000. I havent done my practical test yet but will be soon. My instructor reccomended you gain about 2 months experience on the road then do pass plus , its well worth the money and isnt a test.

  • @tukasas Have you considered Pass Plus? You get to take six modules which cover things like motorway and night-time driving. At the end, you don’t take a test, but you’re given a certificate which could entitle you to money off your insurance – just check your insurance company supports the scheme. You might even get help towards the cost of the course from your local authority. Search Directgov for Pass Plus to find out more and see which insurers and local authorities currently participate.

  • @dsagov How much would you find yourself paying for Pass Plus. You won't get anywhere near that amount off of the insurance quote.

  • @tukasas hey y dnt u try the co-op my freind got her insurance for 1250 from there you myt be able 2 save a few pennies or you get multiple insurance, if your parents can drive you can get insured with them as well

hope that helped an gud luck with finding a decent insurance quote, i was wondering how did you find the test when you did it??, because my test is in 2 weeks and im so nervous

    :)

  • Can someone give me an answer as to why the test is so ridiculously expensive? £60 for not even an hour! Surely if I'm paying this much, I should at least be able to take my test soon rather than wait about two months? No, then where does my money go?

  • @465hhhh DSA publishes financial information, including how it spends its money, every year in the Annual Report and Accounts. You can find this on the DSA website, under ‘About DSA’ and then ‘Corporate publications’.

  • @465hhhh Bceause the examiners are fairly highly paid & that money needs to come from somewhere, kinda tight i know but ahh well, hopefully it will only be once you pay it :)

    booked my test today :-o

  • that guys dead good looking, :)

  • i took my car for m driving test, gave answers for two questions first than asked to do bay parking, did it perfectly before going further ahead she stopped as there was a very little bit crack on the one side of the windscreen got answer your car is not roadworthy, i lost my fees, lost time got disappointed and i was confident enough to pass the test if i book it now again they will give like 3 months time so that i could book it again pay 62 quids to dsa, £20/hr for a lesson, £60 to cont....

  • @farhan0783 You got robbed by the DSA mafia squire...

  • now you can have your instructer with you. im deciding weather to take mine on the test with me next friday, can work imn ya favour or not.

like if they was gonna let ya off with something minor im sure they wouldnt if he was there.

    or

if they was gonna stich you up ( like they they did me last time ) . they wouldnt get away with it.. I passed my last test with 4minor faults, he give me a serious for nothing.. makes me mad.

  • In the video they show him looking under th bonnet, What do they do and what do i need to know??????/

  • You'll be asked two vehicle safety check questions; one 'show me' and one 'tell me'.

These are basic safety checks that you should carry out to ensure the vehicle is safe for use. Although some checks may involve you opening the bonnet to identify where fluid levels would be checked, you will not be asked to touch a hot engine or physically check fluid levels.

Take a look at the car driving test area of Directgov and talk to your driving instructor for more info.

  • @dsagov I just passed yesterday and i'm considering pass plus

  • Very Helpful
