ya know i was watching south park the other day and there was a guy who did almost the exact same thing. he pointed, he screamed, and it was to notify someone that there was an intruder. ya know come to think of it i saw the same thing in futurama, is this from something like most stuff in space quest?
When I first saw this guy I exited the game, and 3 years later, I tried SQ4 Again...and to be honest, i did the same thing again. Now i'm 10 and now i can handle him, lol.
He's scared of Roger because of what he represents, which is basically also the reason that Sludge manages to completely turn the planet into a wasteland.
And of course, he screams, securi-bot comes running (or floating, whatever) to zap the offending creature, which lucky for him!, is Roger.
That creeped the heck out of me when I was younger. There used to be a bug in my version that would keep the zombie's screaming pose locked up but have the screaming sound loop forever until you reset the computer. I remember hitting ctrl-alt-del frantically trying to escape that nightmare. But I'd have to resort to cold boot. Never understood the humor of that zombie until I watched Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

On early versions of the game, there was a sound bug that would cause the game to freeze when the zombie looked at you. So he would be stuck there, staring at you forever.

@DiskoDRU hmmm, well im lookin at the booklet right now and it says KA for Kids to Adults which was E for Everyone back in the day. maybe it only said it on the booklet
Who knew that a series as funny as Space Quest could be so terrifiying? I've seen things in survival horror games that look like birthday celebrations compared to this scene.
