My father saw Piaf in Paris sometime in the 50s....he saw this movie and just couldn't believe he wasn't seeing the real Piaf.

One month later Cerdan was killed in a plane crash on his way from Paris to New York to come see her. She recorded the song on 2 May 1950.

The lyrics of Hymne à l'amour were written by Piaf and the music by Marguerite Monnot.
