  • lugar muito loko ...

  • so sooner or later the whole village will be going to sink?

  • i would prefer zero population growth in Australia..even better is negative ... more room for everyone in house, however..got to look after our own and that imho means looking after our backyard... ie neighbours and islanders etc.. So imho.. we arrange a union with this dude.. ==> organized immigration program...therefore no room or budget for que jumpers...therefore turn the boats around.. if they wont turn around... drown in ocean... believe me .. it will stop the boats

  • Australia imho should pull out of the refugee convention, the crims, mind my langauage are shitting all over us... refugees run from danger or starvation... only economic refugees travel half the globe these peeps island is sinking. it's not climate change imho...well maybe a little bit is.ozzie pollies got to get creative. go over there. sort out some union agreement.and theres our refugee job done for 10 years or so. therefore to all que jumpers come to oz = No Entry..leave or die in camp"

  • .." fuck off, we're full " totally agree Andy.. nothing racist about it... more people means no sustainability .I have no sympathy for peeps who travel half way around the globe ... and expect to be called refugees . but i do feel we have an obligation to help our neighbours and the islanders as I said this is a kill two birds with one stone policy.. help the islanders..and stop the crims/que jumpers landing and claiming refugee status, heck if the worse comes least we get somes fishing grounds

  • Some say climate change ... some say its volcanic region.. land rises out of the ocean and sinks..

Easy... i'm more than happy to say NO to the economic refugees coming into Australia... and more than happy to sit down with this dude and work out a union of nations or something with these islanders.. ie...give these dudes all a aussie passport...and thats our refugee quota for the next ten years or so... if it stays up great if it goes under.. so sad but too bad..we keep fishing rights

  • sad..

  • They look like my countrymen which is Filipinos..

  • Rubbish Karen your figure of 1mt by 2100 is only inflated by over 300% .Even at the rate of 3.7mm per annum the highest rate I can find and the figures used by our Greens- that will only be 330 mm or 13 inches by the turn of the century.Remember these people are putting their hands up for millions of UN funding so a little exageration can go a long way into our pockets.

  • damn they will be the next ones boarding boats bound for australia, mayb the navy could use them for target practice. hey losers..the signs on the northern aussie coast read.." fuck off, we're full " go sail to the US, they cause most of the global warming crap, but won't admit it.

  • @andyww68 Get the fuck out of my country you racist cunt, you're not an Australian.

  • sad

  • ok, it's sad that your island is sinking and you have to move farther inland, and other islands are riseing up so people have to move closer to the water, it's the ever changing world we live in, we can either addapt or complain, the thing is, climate change is compleatly normal for the earth, to even think we have any significant effect on the planet(except from local polutants) is pretty naive. the earth warms, it cools, continents shift, islands rise and sink, don't worry, we'll addapt :)

  • Taking a leaf of George Carlins book, there so much death, destruction, poverty, slave labor, multiple wars, starvation and the list goes on. I'm on for saving the planet and legalizing hemp in stopping rainforrests getting cut down for paper when hemp can be grown in abundance naturally. That should cut out alot of fossil fuels.

Until theres real peace and awakening, this saving the planet bullshit has to stop. We cannot take care of ourselves let alone saving the fucking planet!until then...

  • it is true but surprising that no one is willing to accountable.the change in climate ought to be accepted by individual and the g0venrments,joint efforts are required...no person should a portion blame. let us all stand up to be counted in this area, change is here with us.

  • stupid people even without the industrial revolution the so called green house effect will continue its a cycle the earth goes through every thousands of years the elite of this world know this and use this as a backdrop to demand more of our taxes thea earth is actualy cooing down a few degrees in 50 years the ice shelves will have frozen over again and lapped up alot of the ocean all i am saying is dont give into these carbon tax scams

  • @rolficus good to see some people who know the truth, so many people (stupid people) get all worked up over climate change, just like Y2K, and 2012, i know I may seem like a jerk but im still laughing at people who thought the world was going to end in 2000, can't wait till dec 22 this year XD. the way I seee it, if the world ends suddenly, what does worrying about it accomplish? A: Nothing, most things people worry about never come to pass and the most anguish from these events are worrys.

  • This video is UN propaganda to promote CO2 tax. Land-masses rise and fall which is why some islands are sinking and others are rising. If there was a real problem with CO2 levels, it would be if there was NOT ENOUGH of this life-giving trace gas in our atmosphere. If CO2 levels decline too much, then welcome to planet snow-ball. More CO2 = more plant life. This is also why our Australian government will not stop exporting massive amounts of coal & gas each week - they know it doesn't really hurt

  • For some reason Canada pulled out of the Kyoto Protocol. It makes no sense to me. The climate is obviously causing problems for people.

  • all of this are just the matter of mitigation's...

  • "Glaciers and ice sheets are melting into the ocean. The effect around the globe is not uniform, though. There are new measurements of the gravity everywhere around the globe with a pair of orbiting satellites provides the first ever map detailing the rises across different parts of the ocean. In some areas, such as the Pacific Ocean near the equator and the waters offshore from India and north of the Amazon River, the rise is larger".

  • @cansssable is not real,

but the phishing must be great.

  • Kiribati is a coral atoll - the thing we know they do is sink into the sea over time. Why is it that I live by the sea but the level hasn't changed, yet Kiribati is? Their own culture has oral history of having to move island as they sink! Nothing will save Kiribati - it's a natural event NOT caused by climate change.

  • i've read and article that at the end of the world, only KIRABATI will remain.. how odd :(

  • World leaders has to move, now.

  • just breed more sea sponges duh so easy

  • Dear YouTube: Please remove this video from my homepage.

  • It's called high tide.

  • opps

  • Forget about what world leaders are doing to change this. We all need to be the change we want to see in this world. We all need to help reduce world emissions. If the population demands change the leaders will inevitably follow. But we have to show we are committed to this change and want it. Like in NZ, it may not be perfect but we push our government for more sustainable environmental laws. The people are the back bone; our leaders are puppets.

  • check out my page!!

  • A dreadful situation, and the World leaders still think that climate change is not (yet) a problem!

  • "to migrate with dignity" such great words from Kiribati's president. Let's all help each other.

  • Good of you to put this up. The name of the country is Kiribati (the local pronunciation of "Gilbert", as it was called Gilbert Islands before their independance.

  • Build proper seawalls like the Netherlands has, and also add more soil around it to raise the land level. Japan builds entire islands in the sea, so why can't an existing island be strengthened and raised?

  • @dubtafoo : I enjoy this idea! They would need help from other countries, though. As you can tell, Kiribati is VERY poor...

  • same thing is happening on guam, although we are bigger it is still present. i remember a beach a couple hundred yards from my grandparents house was a smooth beach, now its a little cliff slowly eroding.

  • dope!! multikulti reggae-hiphop video in 3 languages about global change !!

  • humans are too dumb to save themselves. ppl do not believe these problems are real because they live in places where these problems havent reached them yet. its that kind of thinking that will not make a change.

  • Some countries are rising some are sinking. The earths crust is not a constant.

  • Maybe the USA should donate part of its continental land to Kiribati. Seems fair to me.

  • @UltimateJyglypuff Maybe all the countries that refuse to sign Kyoto Protocol should take them in as refugees if and when the Island gets submerged.

  • don't die Kiribati!!!

  • hey wuzzup

  • ummmmmmm

  • @sad13511

Global warming is much like a chain reaction. Nowadays we still have glaciers / ice covering smaller parts of the world. Glaciers or Ice reflect most of the sunlight instead of absorbing it like most other materials do. But imagine more of the ice melting. Less and less sunlight will be reflectet, causing the temperature to raise and therfore the remaining ice to melt faster. And thats just one problem.

  • @sad13511

Why thank you. I was really starting to think about killing myself, but now i see there is hope.

Anyway i'm not sure if it already to late to stop the climate change. But i am pretty sure if someday the human race realizes that the climate is indeed changing it will be to late.

---- have to split this text ------

  • at 0:27 bottom right corner says it all. UN propaganda

  • now its paybck tym.... no mater wat we do.... its gona happn 4 sure...

  • the bloody main problem with the world is the human population. it should be restricted, controlled.

ive watched video after video of climate change being real. co2 concentration in the atmosphere through charts produce an almost identical shape as the temperatures through out the years and yet there are people denying that climate change is real and people putting pointless things first

  • @Jun7297 - you are so wrong, but feel free to kill yourself to try to stop change. Or you could realize that we can easily adapt and the problems are not so great after all. :-D

After "Global warming" is now "climate change" order is always the same: control and power through massive fear. Read the theory of hot water bottle, a study of more than 40 years. And done by a scientist not aligned with the employees of Al Gore...this small reptile

  • @speedyreidy27

Its not the world being destroyed. The world will be fine, even if we cause the atospheer to collapse. Humans will be the ones who suffer.

  • @JonasMng you speak like humans are the only living sentient beings whose suffering is worth mentioning among all the other animals and creatures who suffer with us..

  • @JonasMng Wonder how you could say things would be "fine" if you're the one suffering, your mother or your loved ones, your community suffering with you. Sometimes all it takes is for a Single Rich Man who desires to get more $ to build a dam on an upper river only to affect the lives of millions of people downstream for generations across countries and nationality. Think of that! And the INDIGNATION!

  • @JonasMng

you forgot bout all the polar bears and penguines and seals...

  • Al Gore and his lies...still got the masses to fear global warming even though its been cooling 10 years and climate is affected by the sun and cosmic rays.

The globalists 1000 scientists screaming global warming were met by 30,000 scientists saying theyre full of crap.

  • MAYBE DUBAI HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT. AS OTHER COUNTRIES RECLAIM LANDS FROM THE SEA THE WATER LOST FROM THIS ADDS TO THE LEVEL OF THE SEAS SOMEWHERE.

  • :O

  • Sure, climate change is important to understand, but this has nothing to do with global warming or sea-levels rising. Kiribati is in a subduction zone. If you don't know what that means, look it up and it will be clear as to why you would have an apparent metre of sea-level rise in that area.

Whoever really made this "documentary" has no idea what they are talking about.

  • @FangFiftyFive I study geography, and no, subduction is not the cause of this issue. You are the one who have no idea what you are talking about.

  • @DoraTheDino : The FACT is , the sea levels are rising because of natural cycle of change in our Solar system. The Sun has become hotter and all the planets are heating up. This leads to more ice melting at the polar ice caps, humans just needs to more to higher ground!. There is plenty of land on earth and we humans need to use the land more efficiently and recycle/cleanse the soil to allow replanting. The rises are gradual so it gives people plenty of time to plan.

  • @fteoOpty64 The fact is, the sun is not getting hotter, and our climate and the sun changes are in fact, going in opposite directions.

skepticalscience(dot)com/ This website debunks all of your WRONG skeptism.

  • @DoraTheDino If you look at a map, Kiribati is near the subduction fault line between the Pacific and Australian plates. I will freely admit that geography is not my specialty, but I have enough training in it to know that is at least plausible. If that is your field, please do explain because I want to know.

Besides, this "documentary" is proposing that this is caused by sea-level rise, but the amount of rise in living memory is on the order of centimetres, not metres.

  • @FangFiftyFive Subductions do cause rising sea levels, but only temporarily. Unlike those faced by Kiribati, rising sea levels caused by subductions occur rapidly, before FALLING back to a steady level, making its whole impact on the sea level marginal. And the amount of rise is definitely in the metres, such that homes are being wiped out and places becoming inhabitable. How do I know? I have seen it with my own eyes.

  • @DoraTheDino First of all, the apparent rise of sea levels in some areas does not necessarily mean that the sea levels are rising. Second, look at the actual data (anything released by the IPCC or published in a pee-reviewed journal). Data is how you know by how much sea levels are rising, not "I have seen it with my own eyes." I was going to be sarcastic, but I really need to be blunt here: This is how I know you are not a scientist. Hearsay is not science.

  • @FangFiftyFive "the apparent rise of sea levels in some areas does not necessarily mean that the sea levels are rising" Are you kidding? Do you know how the seas and oceans work? Actual data shows that polar ice caps are melting, increasing water levels. And, you do realise that science is not just about crunching up some numbers but also confirming it with your own eyes right? In fact, all the numbers and data come from actual measurements, with our own eyes and hands.

  • @DoraTheDino in other words, it could be something local to the area that would make it appear as though the sea-levels rise.

Yes, the polar caps are melting, I didn't dispute that. next:

What you just said is effectively the definition of an availability heuristic. If you've never heard of that I can guarantee you're not a scientist.

Conclusion: Climate change is a serious subject and if you don't know your shit then you shouldn't be a part of the discussion.

  • @FangFiftyFive I don't think you understand how the seas and oceans work. Temporal increase in water levels (eg. from rain), falls back after a certain period. Continuous increase in water levels is either caused by continuous activities that increases amount of water in area (highly unlikely) or an overall increase in amount of water in water cycle (introduced from external sources such as ice caps melting). Water levels do not continuously rise higher in one area, it's not how physics work.

  • @FangFiftyFive And the phenomenon of availability heuristic is that of making assumptions based on a single event, and if you honestly thought that I deduced climate change as the issue here from a single observation of sea levels rising, you got to be kidding me. I can't claim to be an expert on climate change, but what you know about the seas and oceans or your assumptions about my observations, is quite wrong to say the least. PS. never said I was a scientist, just a simple geographer

  • @DoraTheDino My mistake; I misread "geography" as "geology".

At any rate, you seem to lack a basic understanding of how plate techtonics works.

  • @DoraTheDino I honestly can't tell if you're too stupid enough to realize that we are on the same side of this; all I'm saying is that this one particular video has its information wrong. It's an article written by an arts major that should have been written by an actual scientist.

  • @FangFiftyFive After reviewing the bulk of your comments I realize your method of delivery and sharing is pretty aggressive. You also got so worked up during this video that you no longer were able to clearly listen to what was said in the video. 1 meter over roughly 100 years, AND according to the IPCC it's possible to reach that by 2100. Being in a subduction zone(if it is) + current sea level rise = a lot of change for an atoll only 4m at it's peak.

  • @FangFiftyFive I do realise we are on the same side regarding climate change, and I do realise that you are trying to say that the video has its information wrong. What you do not realise is, what I am saying is that you are wrong about the video being wrong.

  • @FangFiftyFive Subductions DO cause rise in water levels. But only TEMPORARILY and falls back steadily after a certain period. The situation in Kiribati is not due to subduction because it occurs GRADUALLY, over LONG periods, and its sea levels are not going to be decreasing anytime soon. Here's how seas/oceans work. Water have to go somewhere, they are either in the ice, or in the sea. Because of rising temperatures, ice caps melt, increasing volume of water in water cycle.

  • yeah what @albionjq said

  • why would anyone dislike this video...

  • @bobbydylan099 i reckon! lol

  • @bobbydylan099 there are normal people and idiot people in this world :(

  • @funknstuff169 Not really, the Sun is a natural system and it's output isn't perfectly linear. When it gets hotter, so do we and when it cools we do too. Historically, warm periods have been the good times in Earth's history. The real danger is cooling. The last time there was an ice age, Canada was buried under a mile of ice. I'm pretty sure that would be a bigger disaster than some melting permafrost.

  • @terracethornhill Untrue, the sun and the earth's climate is going in opposite directions.

Go google skeptical science. Debunks all your "knowledge" about global warming

  • @beavisCS

Pretty sure climate change means that in some places it will be hotter, others colder. So the fact that Europe's temperature is fluctuating so wildly means that climate change is real.. but you didn't know that because you don't know enough on the issue. That's ok and good on you for engaging in the debate, at least you tried. I would have thought someone with a good grasp of languages would understand science a little better?

  • NO LEAS ESTO SI YYA LO HICSTEN PEGA ESTO EN 5 VIDEOS MAS SINO TU MAMA MORIRA EN 3 DIAS

  • People abuse+ natural, continuous changes of earth's climate = Global warming.

  • Its very interesting that some people think GW is fake. Its in fact very real. Its a proven fact, and its been happening since the inception of the planet. Our planet is the perfect place to live, we have the right balance of oxygen, nitrogen and other values to sustain life. A simple look at every other planet in the galaxy will show you that these values, if offset can provide a lack of sustainability. What we put into our atmosphere DOES effect our planet in a negative way.

  • EnlightenedCate, and albionjq, what you you KNOW about GW? Of are you baseing your opinion on surfing the net

How is it that people like you love the everything that the 21 centruy brings you, but you refuse to believe in GW because you might have to change the way you live?

The world is getting destoryed in so many ways, and now we're 7 billion. Humanity is a virus, and is fucking itself to disaster.

Get your heads out of your asses.

  • I agree with you @albionjq, climate change is a lie, designed to get more money from us in the way of a carbon tax. What a joke. Every time you fart, you will have to pay to do so. Haha. Anyway it's about time that people stopped believing everything that the government says about climate change. It's the sun's activity that changes things and this has happened through the centuries.

  • @EnlightenedCate Too bad the changes in TSI over the past 40 years do not match the heating/cooling of the Earth. The amount of TSI's over the past 30 years have been staying around the same.

  • the climate has always changed and always will

  • @jocell202 oh so it doesn't matter if we dig everything up and accelerate change by thousands or millions of years, killing millions of people in the process, and resulting in the loss of living space, cultural aspects, nations, quality of life, and the enviromnent we all share and live in. Don't worry, it's alright because

"the climate has always changed and always will". You need to get your head examined.

  • @gritbehindblueeyes You are the one that needs to get your head examined if you think we are the cause of weather change, first off we have clean energy that has been kept from us, secondly there is plenty of room if we learn to live with nature. Do you think lining the pockets of the rich will do anything? They are already killing in the name of global warming so don't give me your crap boy.

  • @gritbehindblueeyes and get a grip on reality, there are plenty of civilizations discovered under the ocean, the oceans have raised before we where here and will do so again, the sun is the main cause of weather change, man made global warming is a complete scam.
