  • MY PEOPLE

  • One of BOC's creepiest tunes. AND one of my personal favorites.

  • Haunting melody...creepy LP cover.

  • Amazing song... should have been used in Terminator. Maybe a few more people would have heard it then!

  • @Sabredance66 What?

  • THIS SONG HAS ALOT OF MEANING FOR ME (AND I AM SURE ALOT OF US)!!!

  • This song is ~OuT oF tHiS wOrLd~ I can't stop listening to it...

  • HUHH kinda looks like that BAD word that starts with an i on the back of a dollar bill

  • Blue Oyster Cult Veteran - Psychic Wars ???????

  • This song is amazing

  • this picture looks like it's moving to me. O.o

  • @starcrafter13terran It IS moving...Just slightly, but....

    Trippy...

  • Korn would sound good if they made a cover of this. i believe it.

  • @HateHarold maybe

  • cuando era un niño

  • Grandiose !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This reminds me of Tate and Violet from American Horror Story

    >ViOlAtE<

  • Its sad that I have to type in "veter" before this pops up in the suggestions

  • @sonicgreg And 'veter' means Wind in Russian. How nifty!

  • Right.

    Twelve Degrees.

  • what is the name of the vocalist? his voice sounds familiar? just askin..

  • @kirusuchie The vocalist is Eric Bloom.. But maybe you hear some resemblance with Robert Plant, vocalist of Led Zeppelin?

  • @SjorsieeeVenlo yup! but I wasn't really thinkin about robert plant. but thanks for the info :)

  • @kirusuchie Johnny Blueoyster.

  • *****

    I will .....

  • 2:36 is fantastic

  • Beautiful, powerful song.

  • Pure gold

  • one of the greats!

  • Why wait for a funeral find a reason to play it anyway hell kill something if need be.

  • @rigal33 hell i would jam it NOW!

  • All the true fans must form and make the real Blue oyster cult. Who's with me? And yes I am a young Teen with a taste for real music.

  • One of those songs that give me chills every time I hear it.

  • Killer band, I would jam to them in 1979.

  • This song was made with only three things : sadness, talent and blood... and talent...

  • Note to self: Get the B.O.C cross on my left arm

  • I know this was written with Michael Moorcock with some science fiction theme in mind, but to me it sounds like it's about detox. I wonder if that's something I'm just taking from it or something one of them had in mind.

  • Christopher Nolan listened to this song over and over to make the movie Inception.

  • My kids damn well better play this at my funeral

  • @madworldsmileyface My kids are going to play Whiskey in the Jar.

  • Masterpiece...

  • this is my favorite song by boc. it is amazing

  • reminds me Kai Hansen

  • HEAVY METAL 1981!

  • damn i admit Rush is number one but there is so much talent we r truly blessed these guys guys are some of the greats!

  • Clasic!!!

  • funny...as i understand, this is one of the few songs on FOUO which was NOT written for the movie HEAVY METAL, yet it was the ONE song chosen...

  • @sevenismagicman What is FOUO standing for?

  • This is the most haunting rock song ever created.

  • Blue Oyster Cult.... I GET IT!

  • Best song from the movie heavy metal!!

  • do acid a listen to this

  • reminds me of IRAQ

  • while i don't know the intent of the lyricist, i can tell you this song definitely describes very long term relationships, lol

  • @dantechick Most of this album was wrote for the movie Heavy Metal, very sci-fi inspired, this was the only song used in it tho :)

  • @rhythm2007mc i'm old, i'm familiar with the movie, best song by far on the soundtrack

  • @rhythm2007mc I remember that awesome movie

  • @WeaponXSigma Am gonna make a video of the blue oyster cult song vengeance [the pact]. The band wrote the song intended for heavy metal but it was never used. I will edit clips of heavy metal with the woman on the terradactol bird. I'll do a all heavy metal clip montauage. If I can find some footage of the band I will make one with them aswell. I nice tribute for them, I might have to get copy right consent first, but I'll make a copy just for myself anyway. PS. Have you seen the film: Wizards

  • @rhythm2007mc i wouldnt worry about copy-rights because most of the take downs are by warner music or disney and usually they leave classics alone they're kinda public domain, i mean this whole album was uploaded 2 years ago and only 43k users have viewed

  • @dantechick That was the intent the lyricist was not in the band he was the fantisy writer Michael Moorcock.

  • hell yes my dad showed me this song a few weeks ago and Ive loved it since the only other ones I know so far are godzilla and dont fear the reaper I gotta check them out more

  • @SuperDarkknight92 Astronomy, Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll, Take me Away, Burnin' for You. Those are some of their most popular, and my favorites.

  • I just took a dump to this song, it was possibly the most beautiful moment of my life.

  • @Spinefashion try it and see for yourself

  • i feel content saying i have no idea what this song is about, or what the fuck they were thinking when they wrote it..but its pretty badass

  • @Wonderbread8909 They were thinking of a series of books by Micheal Moorcock called The Elric Saga. Basically about an albino prince/wizard from an alternate/future world at the mercy of his black bladed demon possesed sword

  • @Wonderbread8909 They were thinking of a series of books by Micheal Moorcock called The Elric Saga. Basically about an albino prince/wizard from an alternate/future world at the mercy of his black bladed demon possesed sword.

It kind of reminds me of Stephen King's gunslinger series in an odd way.

  • @stainlesssteelrat100 gracias very informative

  • Heavy F***ing Metal

  • Cult is the fuckin best.

  • Don't really know much BOC, but it sounds like they mellowed out compared to their earlier stuff.

  • fucking AWESOME!!!! i dont care who you are or what race you are this is the shit right here!

  • perfect

  • did i hear you say that this is victory?

  • you don't know how badly i want one of those cult suits in the picture

  • Coldplay totally ripped this song off...just wish I could remember the song so I could slam them for it.

  • After reading Necronomicon (Best weird tales by HP Lovecraft) this cover is a lot more ominous than I remember it being :O

  • @RiseofMarine BOC were always the best at using imagery in their songs.

  • really criminally underrated band singing about a really criminally underrated series of books. Should make that book series into a movie, would really give marvel/dc a run IMO

  • @stainlesssteelrat100 what are the books called? they sound interesting.

  • @milkkart They are the Elric saga written by Micheal Moorcock. great series although it has been awhile. Alot of BOC songs come from this series of books. Black Blade, This song, The Red and the Black and a case can be made for Don't Fear the Reaper

  • @Gcrash95 calm down

  • What Kind of Front cover is THAT!?! O.O

  • @heeriyujaxhunin an awesome one, duh.

  • I was lucky enough to see Soft White Underbelly at the Waldorf Many years ago,

  • as a veteran of a desert war, this song is, and always will cover a lot of ground as far as any of us who have served is concerned any way.

  • Mystic all of the time.

  • I'll never forget this this album cover!

  • Never forget this this album cover!

  • If I like songs like this -- speaking toward both the sci-fi lyrics and solid rock performance -- what other bands should I be listening to?

  • @Amberjack1973

Deep Purple and Black Sabbath music is very similar to BOC's.

  • @Amberjack1973

Deep Purple and Black Sabbath music is very similar to BOC's.

  • @Amberjack1973 I am a fan of the DIO album Magica (alien robots, wizards, need I say more), The song "temple of the king" from Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (great song with a fantasy theme), the entire album "Dehumanizer" by Black Sabbath [kind of a post apocalyptic dystopia and one persons story to break free (except the song 'time machine" which kinda' comes outta left field). If ya' want freaky though King Diamond is a rocker who puts out one hell of a possession story in the "Them" album.

  • im only 13, and this is amazing!!

  • What do I possibly say about BOC?! There is nothing to say that hase not already been said.. so absolutely mind blowingly awesome!

  • I'm a teen.

  • @WHOHmanWHOH Now spray paint BLUE OYSTER CULT RULES on your principal's car man.

  • @Wraythhmark Do you have to be 18 to buy spray paint?

  • @WHOHmanWHOH Do you? Effing Nazis at the Walmart! *shakes alchemical fist* I was a yearbook and arts fag in my senior year, so I had access to paints and cameras and abused the privilege to thunderous applause ! c. 1994; the Internet had just crawled out of the desert and people got scared and began hoarding gold. Why the world was a pool of magma back then.

Take paint from your old man's shed! A Vigilante for BOC is born on Lady Gaga's birfday.

  • @WHOHmanWHOH im a teen... ya most of us do

  • If you like this one , find the live version .The Buck guitar solo is fantastic !

  • Tarot - Veteran of the Psychic Wars cover = better IMO

  • @MusikRoxifyed You're joking, right? Marco Hietala thin reedy voice meanders all over the place: he can't hold his notes or convey emotion any more than he can manage recognizable English vowels. It's rare indeed that covers are better than mediocre and Tarot are not in the same class as BOC either as musicians or songwriters, so why pretend?

  • @Mokkor well that's your opinion... and i'm not joking, i think tarot is soo much better than boc!

  • no need, figurered it out :)

  • does anyone have the tab for the solo? I can't find it anywhere and i'm too lazy too figure it out

  • Great song. Overlooked in the 80's, but a great album.

  • @51Thundersticks the whole album was overlook...even burnin' for you wasn't that known unless you were a boc fan

  • great song found it cuz of the tallica version

  • The beginning sounds like Lost? by Coldplay :)

  • Absolute great song!
