Ambulances in Midtown Manhattan have the biggest problem trying to get to calls because of the traffic . People should at least pull over to the right and get out of the way so it can get to the scene in a timely manner to save a life .
Block it, block it, block it they are not cops. NO cops are around=no ticket-no foul. But how can y say this, the law says you must let the emergency vehicle with lights on through lmao. We will report your plate and cops will give you a ticket, we got it on dash camp lmao. Here is how the law works people, unless officer witness the violation and pulls driver over no ticket can be issue because register owner is NOT responsible for the action of the driver.
@ImRatherTall The belief is that people will pay more attention to siren sounds if the sounds keep changing, rather than if there's just one siren sound that plays continuously, which people would start to ignore if they keep hearing it for several minutes. It's a good theory, but in New York City, people often ignore the sirens anyway, no matter how many different sounds they make. Sometimes you can even create new sounds by pushing many different buttons at once, but still nobody looks up.
I see your point! Maybe New yorkers should take a lesson on emergency services observation from the UK, near enough everyone makes room and such (Im only being light hearted if anyone takes that serious!!!)
People in N.Y.C. see and hear so many things. They hear so many horns and sirens continuously throughout the day, that it almost becomes natural to start tuning everything out. You'll notice that most people don't even turn and look to see where the siren is coming from, and most don't even once look at the ambulance as it goes by. Yet, I took a trip to Pennsylvania, pulled up in front of a diner and hit that little button that locks the car doors and makes a beep. About 4 people turned around!
@TheSuperBlackMan hahaha well yea ur right i live here in san fransico ca and last summer i took a trip to mexico and and ambulance was responding to a fallen old woman hahaha the whole small town came out to look at the medics and ambulance also a helicopter passed by and like 10 people whent out to look at it
i also pressed the button to lock you door and it made a beep hahha the my auntie came out haha
