Is this part of why glaciers are disappearing: carving vent-holes in their bellies with hot water seems counter productive...the retuning ice must have an effect on its structure or salinity, but if they can do that why won't they put slushy machines on top and seed the clouds for snow?
pleaz dont read diz. u wil get kissed on da nearest posible friday by da lov of yo life. 2morow wil be da best day of yo life. how ever if u dont post dis to at least 3 videos u wil die witin 2 days. now u started readin dont stop dis iz so scary. send dis over to 5 videos in 143 minutes. wen u finished press F6 an yo crushes name wil appear on da screen in big letters. dis iz so scary cuz it actually works
Eh.. I've visited Mt. Kilamanjaro in Africa and people who havn't actually seen glaciers (most) wouldn't understand the rate that their melting. These glaciers have been around for hundred of thousands of years and within the last 50 years their melting has increased DRAMATICALLY.
I don't mean to scare you with it :] Im just saying that we should enjoy it while we can because they WILL DISSAPEAR FOR GOOD EVENTUALLY.
Till Then, continue driving SUV's and going to McDonalds!!!
that is so cool how in 3 days the glacier moves totally awesome! i once saw a video on Nova called "Descent into ice" where a research program had a bicycle wheel mounted on a cantilever and they placed it leaning on the roof of the glacier and filmed and when you speed the video up you could see the glacier moving along the bicycle wheel.

It annoys me that people are talking more about this dudes accent. Honestly, I think Scotts shouldn't do voice overs. I can bearly understasnd them...get an american mid-west reporter. Thier voices are treausred by the news community as the perfect clean voice.
ANYWAYZ, this video is about DISSAPEARING GLACIERS NOT THIS DUDES VOICE?!?! Yeish?!?
lol i'm scottish, a lot of people cant understand us because they say we talk too quickly.. but his accent isnt strong so it shouldnt be that hard to understand for foreigners. true i can understand american accents easily and whenver you hear scottish people on tv i always crindge because it is embarrassing lol
LOL LOL LOL FUNNY ACCENT But sheesh living there would be so hard. I mean imagine it... They create a cave, go to sleep, go to work, come back oh gotta do it all over again..
Some of the oldest archaeological sites in N. Amer. are in areas along the edge of the melting glaciers. Modern Inuit build houses from ice and snow for protection from the elements, and the honeycomb of glacial caves would have provided similar shelter from winter winds as well as handy deep freeze for long term food storage. W. Michael & Kathleen Gear, archacologist have written a series of books, "The People Of...", fiction, based on archacological findings. It would make sense.
That is not an English accent... more like Scottish, or even New Zealand. I think it sounds even better than an English accent.
