  • Thank you Sir! I wish you and your Model A many years to come!

    Greetings from a Finnish railfan.

  • just goes to show, fords last forever!!

  • Great Upload!

  • I wish 3985 came down to los angeles once in a while

  • You Sir, have made me very jealous. However, it's always good to have someone to look up to.

  • You watch an old train pass by and then chase it with a Model A?! You must be related to Chuck Norris.

  • that was awesome!!

  • Do Ike have a own youtube channel ??

  • Wow what a majestic view to see the ALCO charging across the expanse of the countryside! Those Trains and even the cars back then had so much personality!

  • Well it is a FORD & a "real" ALCO (steam!) - What more could U possibly want??? Lindz3016 in OZ...

  • 9:05

  • i like boyce motormeter with wings, my a ford has wings now. great video.

  • I like Ike!! You were puttin' Cecil through his paces, to be sure - I cheered when you passed the old Girl up! And, your laughter at the victory of doing so was so cool. I really enjoyed your commentary along the way, too. Yep, us Baby-Boomers stay young and cool by never losing the wonder we choose to feel when we witness such a classic thing as this lumbering regally & proudly down the line - nothing fake or plastic about her: she's the real thing, & so are you, Ike. Thanks for sharing this

  • You had to be pushing your model A. I had a 29 Model A and the best I could do was 80 mph with a 2 throat down draft carburetor and a Willis distributor. Driving at that speed the manifold would get so hot it became transparent and you could see the ignition flames fire off inside of it at night. (I used to drive it without the hood)

  • Awesome Video. I would have been chasing it as well.

  • Realy cool video dude....makes a lot of fun watching it.

Now I watch part one ;)

  • Hot-Dang, You Sir (and your cream-puff car) Surprised the crap outta me. You did GREAT. You must REALLY have that buggy in Tip-Top condition, inside&out.

Watta Salute to Americana! Thanx-Amillion Ike

  • This guy is GREAT! I would love to meet him. Makes me want to try it in my Model T Ford!

  • Wonderful Americana in every way, thanks so much for doing this, you made my day.

  • @ 2:04 : I never knew that MOSES drove a Model A !! ;0)

  • Thank you sir.. by the way Iowa it's a nice play to live in.

  • u know ur goin slow when u get passed by a model a with a max speed about 60.... suprised it didnt over heat afterall it is a ferd

  • Thanks for sharing this vid... It's awesome to see... I have painted at least 4 of these cars on the inside... The storage and maintenance shops in Council Bluffs Iowa are an awesome place to work on these pieces of American history.

  • way cool video man! love the train and the A

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA (and its trains)

  • Thank you Bonnie and Clyde for taking me along on this GREAT adventure! Ike you were KING of the ROAD, thank you. What a great adventure! I got a little sad when it ended.

  • My dad started out firing on the Illinois Central Railroad on steam engines. He will LOVE seeing these videos! He will be 88 years old in a couple of months. When he retired he had been the engineer of The City of New Orleans between Champaign and Centralia, Illinois, and hold the record of driving the longest train. Thank you for posting these videos!

  • pretty dang good man gj

  • You are the man Ike

    We like IKE

Watching for more Ike Videos to come.

  • @penprop01

He is also the king of (some) of the young people, i just love those locomotives, but i never have seen a big one working. But i just love them. Thanx for postin this! Nice ford! I have seen it in a ford museum in my country (the netherlands)

  • watching that machine fly down the rails is better than poetry

  • Thank you! I loved both videos.

  • Locomotive AND automobile history in one video...Fantastic...

  • Good old steam.

  • A little peace of American heart and soul!

  • Two absolutely BEAUTIFUL pieces of HAND MADE MACHINERY that quality and care went into the making of. I LOVE your car and I LOVE that train, both from an era long gone...

  • Great video, well done and thanks.

  • thats a beast car you have their sir

  • Nostalgia in action.

  • Nice job, Ike! Both...the train AND the car! That 4-6-6-4 is a magnificent monster, isn't it?

  • LOL, see, if it were me, I would of parked the Model A on the tracks running, but like its stalled, and then got in front of it with the hand and act like I was frantically trying to get it cranked. Jump up and down, then try once more, then jump in and drive it off the tracks, and the train goes by. But then I'd chase the train, all the time waving my fist at it in anger.

  • ir filmando una locomotora a vapor, y en un Ford A. Creo que se debe sentir lo mejor en el mundo!!! debe ser inexplicable!!! Que cosa mas hermosa!!! :)

  • Not bad! The Model A and the Challenger both have 4-CYLINDERS!!

  • Imagine how many times that actual train was robbed back in the day!

  • @garrett6699 It was made in the 1940's not 1800's.

  • @Krazykaveman Still dude. Trains still get robbed today. I'm sure tons of people did it in the 40's/

  • これいつとったんですか?

  • OMG I WANT THE CAR T_T so nice

  • Awesome Ike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think I can! ...

  • all the people u passed must have bin like how is this model A passing me

  • When I get a new pc im gonna show you all how challenger looks like in the cab on the railworks 2 simulation so you can get the idea how this challenger works. I love it. Steam is been favorite since I was a kid.

  • It's Merle Haggard.

  • Great fun! Making a rail fan out of me.

  • Wow- this was such a fun video to watch- and I LOVE Cecil!

  • ha ha "he must be pedeling that son of a bitch!"

  • U are the king of old men

  • pretty cool !

  • love them dirt burners!!!!!

  • do you chase the engine really and that isnt big boy as in your 1st video

  • I got one of these for college graduation, many memories, thanks....

  • WOW!!!! I have never seen someone railfan in such an old car before. Nice shot with the old car and the old steam engine.

  • Nice job done, By the way your voice sounds so much like the narrator of a video on Union Pacific's steam trains 844 and 3985.

  • I still say the should be using Steam locs. With the technology we have today they are cleaner than the ones we got going.

  • Great video! Thanks for the ride. Brings back the days when I was a kid and we would go down to watch the big locomotives come to town.

  • Thats probably equal to cruising 140mph in a modern car

  • Que bien anda ese A.....!!! Una Mäquina...!!!!

  • wow i thought this dude was like 59 not 70

  • That's what i call a ''WILD CHASE''!! Nice video!!

  • Great video, enjoyed it! Double fun with the old Ford passing the cars... ;-)

  • I want a Model A!

  • the best video ever made good onya guys.

  • Great Video, We need more guys like you and more real Henry Ford Iron like that around... Thanks again,. Trucker18wheels-2006

  • i would LOVE to meet Ike, This kind of video warms my heart,,,

PSI just turned 57 yrs old !

  • Too bad they don't make them anymore.

These things are works of art on wheels!

  • Great job on the videos, I really enjoyed watching them.

  • Thanks Cecil & Ike! (I didn't know a Model A could go that fast...)

  • Very entertaining video. Thank you! Nice car too.

  • Is that a true Model A or a remake? I know there was many reproduction Model A's out there.

  • it looks like there are not many hot-rodded model As still existing

  • Call me crazy..but i would give up my hybrid for one of those model ''A''. i would just feel comfortable enough to know i'm driving a %100 built in america beauty on wheels!!

  • @samalayork Yeah would be cool! theres a few drawbacks tho, parts etc if you break down on the road somewhere, no A/C, Id worry about the idiots who cant drive out there causing damage or a collision too!

Shame so many were for all intents and purposes destroyed in the 50s-60s etc by teens turning them into "hotrods," and "race cars" and by others replacing the orig engines with modern junk.

    Model A looks best!

  • That has to be one of the best Youtube videos ever. Antique car, Steam train, Passing cars, and trains while filming out the back and side window, all by an 80 yr old man.

    Very nicely done.

  • Something tells me.... after all this government "help" to make "cleaner" energy, these steam trains are going to be FORCED to make a comeback. Thank goodness someone loves them enough to preserve them!

  • @Nza420 lol let's hope. If it wasn't for the cost of maintenance they would still be around. Of course there would be people against all the smoke and traffic jams of chasers lol. But the way people flock to see them........it's something that cannot be explained. I think anyone with a pulse agrees that steam should still be a part of American railroading. Too bad we don't have more class 1 RRs running them.

  • Great video and Ike looked familiar. Couple months ago I saw a vid of him cutting a tree when he was 71 I may have even left a comment. I would love to meet him. Maybe my 85 year old dad would like to bench race with Ike. We live in west central il. so not that far away.

  • Most Awesome Video I have EVER seen.

That's what I'll do when I'm in heaven.

  • love your model a

  • Really neat - thoroughly enjoyed being "with you" on this video. One hell of a video. Thanks.

  • cheers for uploading

  • those are two unbelieveable and rare machines!! UP CHALLENGER and a Model A. Big thumbs up

  • great video!!! great car and train. My dad loves this video.

  • That was unbelievable...hats off to the Model A!!!

  • Me and my two and a half year old loved it. Cecil must have enjoyed a restoration somewhere not long ago, he's a top runner and in great cosmetic shape.

  • Nice video. You should send it to the locomotive engineer. I bet he enjoyed watching you follow as much as you enjoyed watching him.

Wish I could ride an old car like that, following a steam engine.

  • All I got to say is (Beautiful).

  • @pinewood8091 Easy, man! Easy! Ike seems like a fine, young man.

  • By God Ike, ya did GOOD! I'd ride with you in that car any day! Passin all those folks......that was a riot! Well worth the trip I'm sure. A moment to remember there's no doubt!!! :)

  • thats a bad ass ride both of them. we need to see more of these on the rail and on the road. keep on rollin cecil.

  • Great fun. I enjoyed that ride.

  • Cecil did good. I love the sound of a model A running down the road. And passing all them modern cars, six or eight at a time, Cecil done real good. Bet they were surprised to look over and see a model A shooting by. LOL! a MODEL a AND A 4-12-4 steam locomotive, what could be better.

  • There should older cars, trains, planes, well everything still in major use today.

  • Two legendary Machines from the past in the same video, UP #3985 and a Ford Model A. Awesome!

  • IKe, You are a good dude. Nice to meet you. I live in Dallas Texas. Ide like to meet you some day. and Cecile! hahaha

  • It stopped active service in 1962 right?

  • Wow, Their great videos. Part 1 & 2. You blokes must have had fun making them. And that car, what a beauty, not to be underestimated. I'm glad I found these videos. Thanks for uploading them. cheers.

  • That engine and train came into milwaukee that year and my friend and i watched it stop and I got a up front look at it wow is that so nice and it was hot ...you go such awesome footage of it chasing it down the track ....I couldnt keep a straight face while u were doing it i felt as if i was right there in the car with u ....from one train buff to another ...wish we could go back in time LOL
