New York doesn't own the Great Lakes! They are divided between both Canada and the United States! And actually most of the hydro-electric energy in Quebec (and much of Canada and many north-eastern states) comes from James Bay. As to your inability to find Quebec on a map, I suggest you go back to grade 1!
