  • ihhhh.

  • that was horrible bluez!

  • not bad

  • @cOdeMunkey you're pretty dippy that hair do isn't a mullet a mullet was short on top and the sides, the ears were exposed the back was the only hair grown out, like today's hair do's are great with the faggy emo look with the chainsaw haircut and skinny jeans that look bad on little fruitcakes and even worse on chubby girls with no ass and then the Bieber hair blown to the face or the Shaggy look from all those N.midwestern states like Minn.or Wisc.or better yet wigger's with flat brimed cap's.

  • nice ;)

  • That is that fattest "V" I have ever seen, other than your mom's.

  • humorous

  • one sick custom jackson

  • The dude looks like half mustaine half jon bon jovi

  • Wtf!!!!

  • This makes me wanna jam with a drummer.

  • He's good...but there isn't too much to distinguish him, after watching shredder after shredder after shredder on yt for about 4 or 5 years, it starts to get old..

  • @Boghman22 WELL SAID my friend well said!

  • niiiceeee!

  • minute 0:51 faileeeddd !! BAD !!

  • Super bitchin mullet dude has goin on there. All business in the front, party in the back. Let your freak flag fly.

  • Oh great, berklee wank. Next.

  • That was cool a bit sloopy by todays standard shredding but still good

  • 0:15 - Whole Lotta Love

0:24 - Smoke on the Water

    0:32 - Stairway to Heaven

    0:41 - Purple Haze

    0:56 - Mission Impossible

  • @hols2000 0:56 the song is actually called Take a look around by Limp Bizkit lol

  • wow dude.. simply amazing. freakin tight rehearsal!! i bet that performance kicked ass live!

  • Syrek- Polish Roots from Poland

  • epic looking guitar

  • Great playing Terry, I love that guitar... the 80's and early 90's were a great time for music !!!

  • fuckin awesome!!! fuckin awesome!!! hahaha

  • This is great! Why must there always be trolls and haters surpasses all common sense: if you can play better, go ahead, make a video and prove it! I bet that if you actually could play it you'd apreciate all the practice he's put into this.

  • This is soooo sloppy, how could you people like this. Thats called fake fast playing. Anyone can do it. Azkeys is the only one in here with a clue

  • This shred consists of led zeps "whole lotta love", deep purples "Smoke on the water", zeps "stairway to heaven", and hendrix's "Purple Haze"

  • I love that jackson

  • Don't do meth lol

  • garbage , but I'm certan the ladies will appreciate your extra long fingers.

  • @ 1:11 Is he sweeping pentatonic scales???? How the fuck??? O_o'

  • @Uberado

No bro he isnt sweeping. He's alternate picking and string skipping.

  • @extremesoul666

Ah. Well either way, it's epic as hell! :D

  • @Uberado

I agree =) another great shredder!

  • 0:40 - 0:49 Jimi Hendrix - Purple Maze

  • he has the weirdest sweeps i have ever seen.

  • Wow, that was just real bad. It show someone that has potential but that is just hacking away in a raely "messy" way.

  • Man this guy knows how to play BORING... Yawn..

  • this is pretty much a wank

  • Oh fuck..... awesome......

  • Holy shit, Terry. He's definitely changed a bit lol.

  • Awesome Terry!

  • Where can i find more of your Videos!

  • Not as good as paul gilbert

  • loL AWESOME was that a hybrid classic rock mix?

  • @cyclonef70 well he has a thorough knowlege about several types of music, has excellent theory skills, and on top of that he can shred like a motherfucker. quite simply hes amazing.

  • @cyclonef70 you pretentious fuck... he has two dysfunctional fingers, he has a perfectly clean sound with no mistakes, and is going way faster than you. he is plenty skilled. and of course speed isnt everything, but when its as clean and perfect as this, pretty sure its at least as difficult as that particular flamenco. i have seen amazing flamenco which amazes me, but terry is just as good at what he does.

  • Did I hear some Jimmy Page in there?

  • nice jackson

  • this is nucking futs. crazy chops terry!

  • @cyclonef70 he's just fucking around in this clip. id say he was bored and just wanted to have a liitle fun. you dont have to be serious all the time. and he definitely doesnt suck. you should try playing what he plays and see how far you get with it

  • Fuck yeah, his thumb is behind the neck most of the time!

This guy's technique is awesome. Finally, someone else who can play with their thumb behind the neck like Chris Broderick.

  • Jim Carrey @ 0:24

  • he teaches at ngw

  • Wow -- Spock's dad can shred!

  • @cyclonef70

Oh, and George W. Bush went to Yale (and he is pretty much an insipid moron). So that sort of thing is inappurtenant.

  • @cyclonef70 .... LOL, this guy might not be Paul Gilbert or Marty Friedman, but he is certainly competent. Not everyone can sweep like Chris Impellettieri.

And this is exactly the reason I don't post shit on Youtube. Some people suffer from Hypercriticitis. Your video is good, but since you aren't Segovia or de Ricardo, should we bash you? =) There are people who suck and post on Youtube. Neither of you are one of them, thankfully.

  • looks like a young Steve Howe

    good luck young blood.

  • Incredible.

  • that Rhoads is fuckin' class. not progressive enough! aha.

  • supaplaya you noob its smoke on the water and their clearly having a jam. not ripping off bands. tit.

  • those sweeps look brutal on the hands!

  • what sweep is that¿?

  • toca rapido y tiene sentido lo que toca increible, es bueno

  • @ :32 there is stairway to heaven. its not really ripping off he obviously knows the songs he is playing. its intentional

  • @SirJamestheIII he plays whole lotta love, stairway to heaven, jimi hendrix, etc... its intentionally done, youre right.

  • @SirJamestheIII yes genius and he also played voodoo child.

  • cool Jackson O.o

  • @supaplaya1234 Smoke on the Water is at 0:24 and the first song at the beginning is Whole Lotta love.

  • @ Krelbar:

Teah, i read about it, unfortunate, especially for a guitar player. it looks like he compensated big time with the additional taps, and sweep-works =-)

It's inspiring to see how one can overcome a debilitating handicap and still manage to play as awesome! good stuff!

  • haha thats awesome

  • weeiiirrddd sweeping

  • 1:09-1:20 (if thats what you are referring to) isn't sweeping. Its string skipped arpeggios, done all alternate picking.

  • awesome

  • sweet jackson

  • looks like impilleteri

  • this guy is awesome! and he has the coolest guitar! thats what I miss about shred today, back then every shredder had a kickass paint job on there guitar and now most shredder's guitars are all black.

  • I play guitar, and one thing i've learned, is to not diss other people's playing.

I think this was awesome, i wish i could play like that, but my fretboard hand suffered heavy nerve damage and it affected my playing and forced me to improvise =-(

  • Well said. I won't diss anyone's playing AT ALL. From beginner to expert, they are all at a level of playing, most of the time higher than the person criticizing them.

I don't know if you know this, but Terry suffered from focal dystonia in his hand, Yet he compensated, with stunning results. Look him up on more recent videos. Amazing.

  • the beginning reminds me of buckethead's song brazo's

  • on about 1:00 he plays a mission impossible sounding theme.

I was quite wondering, because this video (as the title says) is fromk 1991 and mission impossible was released in 1996

  • good spotting the MI theme. yes it is... but there was a TV SHOW in the 60's!

  • @sup1967

    oh ... i didn't know that

  • @sup1967 with hyperspeed there was a timegate opened, so terry was able to travel into the future and watch MI....true story ...

  • @jacksonguitar1111 you reckognized this but not that he played stairway to heaven and hendrix - purple haze just before that? O.o

  • @NeverGodGFX do you think that I don't recognized it just because I don't wrote it in the comment?

  • @jacksonguitar1111 not realy^^ i just wondered why on earth you decided to say mission impossible :P no offense man

  • He reminds me of jim carrey

  • His playing is more impressive than really "difficult". He's fast, but his licks and scales are melodically "simple". Not, for example, like Richie Kotzen's, IMHO.

  • Richie Kotzen is god!

  • ZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • but he just played deep purple, zeppelin, hendrix....

  • wow, pretty impresive.

  • His book "Shred is not dead" is great.

  • BADASS!

  • DIDNT LIKE IT VERY MUCH.sorry m8

  • for going to berklee....... this guy really isn't that good......

  • You should hear him now. He got a LOT better. Best musician I know.

  • wow this guy has loooong hands

  • pretty sweet

  • He's good! Stop dissing him, the video quality isn't great, but that doesn't mean he's not.

  • yeah hes a great teacher and he owns WAYYY harder than this now

  • he's got buckethead hands. I want those

  • Props man

  • holy shit and you look so young too!

  • fuck .... i was hoping for amazing shred and it was .... sloppy but still quit shred

  • i dunno man, those runs starting around 1:10 are pretty clean and VERY impressive. I mean, trying to have stage presence while playing that is super hard to do, and either way, they're just having fun

  • Not clean... Dude the tone may not be the most impressive... That's due to the jamming amps in the jam rooms out there... But the guy is super clean... Great technique as well.

  • amazing..i have one of terrys books!!! great player

    :) peace

    connor

  • he looks like young Lorenzo Lamas (Reno Rains-The renagade)

  • That ending lick was absolutely awesome, so sweet :D

  • that was ... weird

  • Wow, this is just.. wow.

I am amazed. Seriously, this is really, really good. Songs from Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Jimi. Wow. And a very good improvisation at the end. Good sir, I salute you!

  • sup 1967 is right there is no compateion in music just diffrent styles and diffrent talent iam a sign flamenco artist...

i use to play speed metal fore ten years

    now flamenco guitaris same thing

flamenco is just like speed metal

thats wat my flamenco guitar teacher says he ex speed metal guy GREAT WORK BY THE WAY! RANDY RODES

WAS A GREAT GUITARIS LOV THE JACKSON!!

    i

  • holy shit

  • dude this is crazy old and terry has a condition here hes just learning to play with search for him now, theres a reason hes taught at national guitar workshop for years

  • ahhahha thats my guitar teachers guitar teacher and in about 2 months my guitar teacher!!!!!!!!!! yep no lie

  • ok, you got serious flamenco chops. i can understand how you might think Terry sucks. two completely different schools of musical taste. maybe you're close minded to this kind of style. but overall, Terry doesn't suck.

  • It could be his great ear, impeccable technique, or unparalleled musicianship. Other than that, though, I've got nothing.

  • @scruffles His ear IS great, I'll give you that. But his technique is far from impeccable. Listen to Jason Becker, that's perfect technique.

  • really? show us what you got! i love how Terry improvised five cover songs into the jam. and sight transposed them to F# too! anybody the truly sucks wouldn't know how to do that.

  • The part at 1:10 kinda spoilt it imo

  • Doesn't the melody prior to the wide stretch/string skipping arpegio sound like the theme from Mission Impossible? The string skipping arpeggio I think is from a tune by Michael Angelo Batio off one of his first two CD's...

  • good lord, I'm not going to lie, i wouldn't call this solo anything too amazing. Having that said the guy is a pretty good guitarist. Look at how in sync his picking hand and fretting hand are. I mean it's almost as if his hand is anticipating the next command. I bet this kid has gotten substantially better after the past 10 years

  • he has. the amazing thing about that is that he got a neurological disorder from over practicing and now has no motor control of the ring and pinky fingers of his left hand. he can use them for chords, but no more of this crazy string skipping stuff. he has managed to work around that, and in my opinion, has become much, much better as far as feel and even chops go. props to him for overcoming those kind of hardships.

  • whoo! good!

  • 1:12 now thats a stretch for a sweep!!!

  • That's no sweep...

    He's alternate picking/string skipping :0

  • i thought it was picking then sweep.. but i wasnt watching his left hand... i stand corrected..

  • that guitar is bad ass. I love the V shapes. awesome

  • awesome!!

    5 stars

  • cant this guy play a whole song

  • that was amazing, just came across this guy this morning learning some of his solo licks

  • terry ended up getting what is called focal dystonia in his fretting hand. his 2nd and 3rd fingers dont really work anymore.

  • what did i do to his fingers? like make it to where he can't move them very well or what?

  • Terry and I studied under the same teacher Tony Sr. I wish him the best as I also have left hand problems. Terry you rule.

    Ken

  • you are right! This is AMAZING

  • great stuff, he ripped on jason becker's tribute album

  • que caripela!!!!

  • Sick,sick..!

  • hes amazing, but it looks really frightening when hes sweeping. almost like a machine or robot.

  • around 0:30 he shreded the stairway to heaven

  • Is his guitar high enough?

  • I wonder who influenced him, definately not Jimi hendrix or Purple Haze, XD.

  • i met this guy at ngw

  • Terry is the man.

  • crazy weird arps. he's fast, i'll give him that.

  • I think the tone sounds fine

  • if you think its fine, then you have to hear him in person, his tone is amazing

  • I did hear him back in the summer of 2006 first week of the NGW i took his class "Half Past Shred" truly an amazing guy, most ridiculously good player i have ever seen in person and his tone WAS amazing, he was using a Jackson soloist through a Line 6 POD if I remember correctly

  • yeah i saw him this year in the first week for the shred class. He was using A Jackson Custom Shop V and a pod x3 live which he just had bought. He was amazing.

  • yeah i was in that class as well. he was using separate marshall pre amps and power amps through two 2x12 cabs.

  • you have never heard his CD if you think that

  • just clarifying I was replying to clownboxer

    I love Terry's tone

  • he actually had a real good tone. this was shot in 1991 on a VHS-C camcorder, terrible audio for loud things. but i guess you didnt consider the bad tone could be due to 20 year old camcorder technology.

  • its the audio pickups u duechebad

    one word...idiot

  • I love that pink and green stripe guitar hahaha

    Terry Syrek is a god!

  • holy crap this is so sick

  • Terry Rules! Thank you for posting. What year is this footage from?
