I have a $6 one with a wood axle and a cotton string. If you have a nice one

like a dark magic with a clay axle you can get it to spin for like 5 minutes.

One of the reasons it comes back into your hand might be because the string is

twirled up a bit or you have your string wrapped around your axle twice for

practicing throws and instant response.
