You must understand that this is irreversible. We should just drop the nukes now before we all die a slow and painful death from starvation and thirst. It is very similar to terri shaivo or w/e her name was. Just pull the fucking plug, why make us suffer.
i know, there's so much water in the world, look at the oceans, we could use distillation plants that would operate using light energy/heat energy/wind energy depending where you are.
Besides, by nature water is always recycled.
They've taught us so many other things in primary school and now they come to teach opposites that are accompanied with spreading fear.
Ocean water is not drinkable. Distilling ocean water will leave a heavy amount of salt back to the ocean. A highly dense salt water is not suitable for the current creatures in the ocean and its ecological system will be altered.
Yes, water is recycled, but we are using it faster than it can regenerate.
They've taught us nothing but lies. Now they're finally spreading the truth. It's sad that no one take this seriously.
@jessiechuang Why would you need to leave a heavy amount of salt back to the ocean? Why not just transport salt water away from the ocean then distill it?
It's only a problem because the population keeps rising unsustainably. People are spreading to areas that are parched and depleting what scant resources exist.
Unscientifically, I do believe. It's not about space, it's about resource and how much humans in developed countries consume. Either first world nations will have to come down to the level of third or we come to some happy medium where all nations have access to the same level of resources and there are no wars to steal them.
exponential population growth is mathematical yet unscientific (ignores a host of very real factors), however resources and 'sharing' or equalization of these assets is another, bigger discussion. totally worth discussion and consideration, just not in mini youtube comment boxes.
Step one: quit breeding!
