  • great. Might suggest putting your skills to the test and make a 3D animation short on your own and really dive into some animation thats believable. Your on the right track just keep going.

  • jeez i REALLY liked the entire part with the british fleet! oh shit!

also, could you tell me how you made the diffuse reflection on the top of the netgear digital entertainer, from the antennas?

  • @tarrizzzzzzzzz Glad you like it! The scene with the netgear digital entertainer was rendered in lightwave. The surface properties have a noise texture in the bump channel, plus I have reflection blurring set to 15% for that surface.

  • @rforman9

Ah yeah the bump was smart... but i use maya, and i don't think maya even have reflection blurring :/

anyways i just gotta point out how cool it is that you made the waves look so real with the ships :O I suppose you used a particle system in lightwave or maya or something? MAX has really good particle systems =D

  • I use maya sometimes too. I know that mental ray can do it. Look up glossy reflections in the mental ray docs. I'm not sure if Maya's software renderer can do it though.

I used Nextlimit's Realflow and Realwave for the splashes and some of the waves. I also used lightwave displacement maps for some of the waves too.

  • to be honest, I have no idea what any of that meant, but the parts about maya and mental ray. No maya software can't do none of it. Actually ii can't even render reflections at all xp

  • perfect
