Y would you get the V6 in this car? If you want aV6 get the 350 or 370 this is a4 cylinder car. Japanese brands can make a 4 cylinder become a small to mid size V6. So there is no point in a V6 when there is a 4 banger option available
Bought a 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5 S CVT Transmission back in March with 51,000 km on the odometer. After 4 months of city driving, and a recent road trip, the car is a winner!
I don't know why he keeps saying manual transmission when the all come with CVT transmission. I remember going to the dealer, the sales guy would tell me that they are all CVT transmission for the redesigned Altimas. They do have sport manual shift if you want to use it that way though.
My older model vehicle was totaled out in a crash, so while I was looking to get another car I drove my dads 2010 Honda civic around. I hated that car very slow, very boring, hated the over-all look inside and outside of the car. I bought a 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5S with 51k miles on it. Love it, it drives very smooth, seems to have a quick response, very roomy, love the push-to-start, and over-all look inside and out. From all the consumer reviews that I've read everyone love this car. At f
I bought a 2007 2.5 S the other day for 13k with only 35k miles & it's a very impressive car. It has plenty of front seat legroom which is the main reason I bought one & it's surprisingly quick & quiet for a four cylinder. Compared to my previous car being a 2006 Toyota Corolla S, the Altima is much more refined overall.
Honda vs Nissan is personal preference, but I dunno who the hell wants a fuckin Toyota yea there reliable but there ugly plain an not very powerful cars
I got the impression that most Nissan models share some design clues from the 350Z or 370Z, and I appreciate the way Nissan does in making "family-face", making use of profile, contour and design clues, instead of similar front grill, headlamps, etc. Altima is one of the stylish and beautiful saloon in terms of design. Too bad we don't have it in Hong Kong.
its a beautiful car, it actually feels amazing to drive. i always believed in Honda and Toyota, but after i bought my Nissan altima 2.5 SL, 2009 , i think Honda's and Toyota's are things of past for me. never going back to them. Love my Altima.
This Altima is a force to be reckon with. I have an 07 Altima and feels like a luxury car with the performance to match. The CVT transmission can really push the motor to your driving needs. Nice. It has an aggressive stance good enough for a sports sedan look as well as a family sedan. All Altimas comes with dual exhaust and a number of times, people came up to me wondering if it was a Maxima and that it resembles so much like the sporty 350Z. With compliments like that, its pretty nice.
I test drove both a Altima 3.5SL and a Camry XLE V6; the camry had slightly more comfortable seats and the engine felt and sounded a little more refined but the car was quiet; the altima won hands down on the exterior with its styling but I felt the interior quality was slightly better than the camry; the camry had gaps in plastic pieces all over the place and I was even able to detach two pieces of plastic during the test drive from the center console area
i have to agree with imranbachus .. i am also a owner of 2 cars a 2002 xterra and a 1997 sentra i love then both and i am thinking about getting the new altima umm i dont know about toyota but i havent done anything to my nissan ....
all to be honest... the finishing in the altima is not the best compared to camry or accord... the roof has some sort of plugs in it which look really bad and the fabric trim for the roof lining is rough and it ends up un-glued after some time... id hav a carmy as for safety and finishing with a engine swap of the nissan altima.. the accord doesnt even have rear air-conditioning lol but it still has a very good look to it.
nissans are reliable!! its called maintenance!! i have two nissans, a 2001 pathfinder 3.5 se and it hasnt been in the shop for anything other than an oil change or routine check ups.. i havnt even changed the rear wiper blade, and i use it as much as the ones up front.. and i have a 2008 maxima 3.5 se and it truley is a lux car no doubt
That's too bad for you. I have an 08 and it's always been dependable. A lot of my friends drive Nissans and they all love theirs too. And no, I do not work for them.
to be honest with you, nissan's haven't always been reliable. they've just finally caught up with the rest of the pack. if you look at older nissan's and their resale value, it's lower than most because of their problems. the last generation altima wasn't the best car. people loved them and still do and enjoyed them, but there are alot of problems that came about. I'm proud of nissan for where they are now though.
This car is better buy than the Camry and Accord I believe. People think that Toyota and Honda are the only brands that offer reliable cars. They are dumb. Nissan offes reliable cars that are equal or perhaps even superior that Honda or Toyota. For $21K, I would go with Nissan. They did a wonderful job in this car!
Got an 07 Hybrid...loved it, and yes it does kick the Fusion, Malibu, Camry and the Accord's ass. Nissan such scumbags took the hybrid tech, from Toyota and beat em' at their own game. lol
I know this sounds STUPID of me. But the Chevy Malibu is a great car!! GM did a great job on the interior. Too bad the 2010 fusion has a horrible CHEAP PLASTICKY interior.
im think about possibly getting a altima 07-09 not sure yett im also considering a honda civic but i have been driving a civic for years but i would like to try something different
During his overview, he mentions that fuel economy isnt the greatest... but he's looking at the 3.5L V6 engine... The Altima also comes with a 2.5L I-4 engine which has GREAT fuel economy and is 5-10K cheaper while still putting out a lot of power matched with the same 6 speead manual. The speaker shouldve mentioned all the other trims instead of just keeping to the one model.

The new Altimas are ugly! Nissan could have done a hell of a lot better with them! The front, rear, sides etc...are all ugly. Especially those big annoying ass taillights...the interior on the Altimas have always been shitty...compared to the Maxima. If your wanting to get a great 4 door car...and one that will last (Nissan) then get the Maxima. Its a better car over all compared to the Altima. And of course...never buy American junk..you will regret it :)
My dads boss has a 08 and @ less than 40k the engine and tranny blew. I also talked to a neighbor whos a mechanic and he says he would buy a ford anyday before a Nissan.

We own a 6speed manual 2008 2.5S Altima. Got it after putting 250k miles on a G20t Infiniti.
The Altima strikes a great balance between a long-legged, quite lux car and a nimble sport sedan. Lightweight all-alloy engine, alloy suspension arms, hood & trunk make for a deceptively fun-to-drive, 29mpg peppy car with extra room for tall people.
hello, i would get a maxima if you ccan afford them, there kind of expensive. although i have an altima 2.5 s 2008 and its awesome! its so sporty looking if thats what your looking for. i would not get anything else, they are great cars and awesome at gas. goodluck with your choice!!
If you haven't bought one yet. You should just research both cars, find out which cars offer what features and whats in your price range. Test drive both of them. Different people have different opinions.
A lot of Altima haters out there, but that's to be expected when a relative newcomer starts eating away into Camcord sales more and more each year.
I've had no major reliability issues with my 05 over 75,000 miles. I had a check engine light once and had to have the throttle body chamber replaced under warranty- that was it. In fact, this car is MORE reliable than the 90s Maximas we had, which needed sensors replaced every 50-60k miles. My interior has held up well and looks new. Great car.
Nissans 3.5 Engines have more awards than HONDA or TOYOTA.. If U really think about it.. TOYOTA doesnt really HAVE ANY AWARDS ON ITS ENGINES!! NOR HONDA.
its a 07...i would hope it dosent have any problems being so new...but give it 2 more years...you will see the interior will start falling apart, always does with Altimas/maximas
rofl bull shit dude we just bought a 08 altima and my step dad just go rid of his maxima with 220,000 miles on it and the only bad things about it were the outside was beat up but thats our fault and the radio didnt work but one thing wrong in 11 yers dude... wat the fuck are u talking about and i might be able to take a picture of it becuase by got rid of it i meant doesnt drive it any more we just got 08 altima at 10:30 today
what year was the maxima??? i bet it wasent a 05 or newer. thats the new desing year for the altima/maxima.
true, the old ones are good, my neighbour has a 89 maxima and still runs, looks ugly, but it still runs.
give it time...everyone with a altima/maxima always tells me how much they hate it becuase the tires, breaks, interior, exterior. one of my friends had tape holding is sunglasses holder lol and its a 05 altima
Did u get the 3.5 or 2.5? Nissan is wayyy better than Toyota or Honda...crazyloc187123 must beat his Nissan's up for them to be crappy like he says lol
the nissan is not my car, its my older sisters who the most she uses it is to drive to class at her Unv. she babys the car with sin. oil and ONLY nissan deal. repairs
my T100 toyota truck as a garden water hose for water hose lol.
my friend, sis, guy i worked with, they all tell me the same thing. interior slowly starts falling apart.
yeah the 3.5 are fast. my friends altima is the R version..sisters maxima came with the 3.5 also.i put honda as #1 toyota#2 and nissan#3
haha i didnt mean won i leased..but no i also got an 97 Altima the only thing wrong wit it is a little wear on the leather but thats normal on an 11 year old car and it runs good i run the shit outta V6 Mustangs wit it and my 07 Altima i can easily kill GTP'S,SRT=4's etc
So what sort of problems should I expect with my Altima. Anyway I think the jap cars are more reliable, better looking and have better resale value than the American big 3, especially dodge.
He traded it in on a 89 Nissan King cab and that truck was very reliable. He regrets buying it and now has his eye on a frontier. I would take the Altima over the Camry any day, as it is #1 in reliability according to CR. The Camry is to boring for me I like my 6spd manual. I think Toyota/Nissan are both excellent.
But my brother in-laws 2006 Tacoma has had numerous problems, something wrong with the idle right now, revs up & dawn continuously at idle. FI problem I think. Anyway the Damn thing keep breaking down also.
dudes, remember that this is the V6 version, that's why it gets bad fuel economy, the for-in-line version gets 31 miles per galon highway! so for those of u saying it's bad, well it's not. It is also a very nice looking car, nice features, nice design, powerfull and comfortable. I really suggest this car over the Camry or the Accord, I don't mean to say they are bad cars, i just say i prefer the altima and i think it's better.
The Camry is more powerful I think and some people prefer the look of the Camry. The Malibu is not good in anything. The CAmry has 7 SRS airbags. Still it is not sporty
lol, the '08 Malibu sucks. I saw on the news a couple days ago that 2 caught on fire randomly out on the interstate, and yesterday, I was on the way to the mall with my mother right quick, and there was a big traffic jam...it happen to be yet ANOTHER '08 Chevy Malibu on fire. And right now, GM doesn't know the cause yet. haha
The 3.5 Altima has 270Hp & 258 ft lb of torque. So my question to you is How much more powerfull is the camry than the Altima. I thought the camry had 268 Hp and 248 ft lb of torque, Could you by chance give me the correct numbers, because obviously you are right and I am wrong.
the camry does not have more hp lol...its a sedan only and dosent come in a "sports" version like the altima
BUT i would take a camry over a altima any day. we only drive toyota cars and trucks. one of my sisters became a traitor and got a 05 maxima SE new. Damn thing breaks down all the time. Shure there nice at first, but they break down more then toyotas. i have friends with altimas and its the same story w/ them...our little 98 corolla still runs perfect w/ 150k
Well they must run the shit outta them cause i got a 97 nissan altima with 285k on it and it runs like new! Also a 07 Altima 3.5SE and never had a prob with either of them!
actually its the other way around...our toyotas are the working horse..5 toyota trucks and all are used for cargo from our 2 stores in LA and Salinas (thats 300mls each trip) all our trucks are well over 100k
the 05 maxima is the luxury car and dosent even have 50k on it. i agree the old nissans were good but these new ones with the 3.5L V6 break more then often..thats why only Honda and Toyota are now the only ones considered quality while nissan was left behind
He is depressing......

true, the old ones are good, my neighbour has a 89 maxima and still runs, looks ugly, but it still runs.
give it time...everyone with a altima/maxima always tells me how much they hate it becuase the tires, breaks, interior, exterior. one of my friends had tape holding is sunglasses holder lol and its a 05 altima

Did u get the 3.5 or 2.5? Nissan is wayyy better than Toyota or Honda...crazyloc187123 must beat his Nissan's up for them to be crappy like he says lol
rodneychapman912 3 years ago 2
the nissan is not my car, its my older sisters who the most she uses it is to drive to class at her Unv. she babys the car with sin. oil and ONLY nissan deal. repairs
my T100 toyota truck as a garden water hose for water hose lol.
my friend, sis, guy i worked with, they all tell me the same thing. interior slowly starts falling apart.
yeah the 3.5 are fast. my friends altima is the R version..sisters maxima came with the 3.5 also.i put honda as #1 toyota#2 and nissan#3

GREAT CAR... I LOVE MY ALTIMA..
YESSAM22 3 years ago 5

I find the camry's interior very boring.
konachai1 3 years ago 2
dudes, remember that this is the V6 version, that's why it gets bad fuel economy, the for-in-line version gets 31 miles per galon highway! so for those of u saying it's bad, well it's not. It is also a very nice looking car, nice features, nice design, powerfull and comfortable. I really suggest this car over the Camry or the Accord, I don't mean to say they are bad cars, i just say i prefer the altima and i think it's better.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
this car look hideous. Bad fuel economy + premium fuel required + lights that look like a pre-ker designed them= bad car.
MusicMan0007 3 years ago
bad fuel economy compared to what? If you don't like the look of a car that is your opinion not a fact. I own one and I think it looks great.

Was this video reuploaded? I was first on their 1st version. NOW REUPLOADED

3rd. THE CAR LOOKS SPORTIER THAN THE CAMRY
hallangell12 3 years ago
Yeah, but is this one or a 08 accord better on looks & fuel.
khaled2016ss 3 years ago
not on horsepower and torque
smartkid1985 3 years ago
The Camry is more powerful I think and some people prefer the look of the Camry. The Malibu is not good in anything. The CAmry has 7 SRS airbags. Still it is not sporty
hallangell12 3 years ago
lol, the '08 Malibu sucks. I saw on the news a couple days ago that 2 caught on fire randomly out on the interstate, and yesterday, I was on the way to the mall with my mother right quick, and there was a big traffic jam...it happen to be yet ANOTHER '08 Chevy Malibu on fire. And right now, GM doesn't know the cause yet. haha
PROgoth121 3 years ago
The 3.5 Altima has 270Hp & 258 ft lb of torque. So my question to you is How much more powerfull is the camry than the Altima. I thought the camry had 268 Hp and 248 ft lb of torque, Could you by chance give me the correct numbers, because obviously you are right and I am wrong.
konachai1 3 years ago
I.m still waiting on a response, on your claim that the Camry is more powerful than the Altima

the camry does not have more hp lol...its a sedan only and dosent come in a "sports" version like the altima
BUT i would take a camry over a altima any day. we only drive toyota cars and trucks. one of my sisters became a traitor and got a 05 maxima SE new. Damn thing breaks down all the time. Shure there nice at first, but they break down more then toyotas. i have friends with altimas and its the same story w/ them...our little 98 corolla still runs perfect w/ 150k
crazyloc187123 3 years ago
Well they must run the shit outta them cause i got a 97 nissan altima with 285k on it and it runs like new! Also a 07 Altima 3.5SE and never had a prob with either of them!
rodneychapman912 3 years ago
actually its the other way around...our toyotas are the working horse..5 toyota trucks and all are used for cargo from our 2 stores in LA and Salinas (thats 300mls each trip) all our trucks are well over 100k
the 05 maxima is the luxury car and dosent even have 50k on it. i agree the old nissans were good but these new ones with the 3.5L V6 break more then often..thats why only Honda and Toyota are now the only ones considered quality while nissan was left behind
crazyloc187123 3 years ago
no the 3.5 is rock solid
fuckhannahmontana 3 years ago 2
I own a 07 Altima and a 97 rav4 neither have ever broken down, it's very good on gas,and the only problem we had was a corroded battery cable.
