Hey there, watch this brilliant acoustic cover of Eric Clapton’s- Layla, with an awesome bass line. youtube.com/watch?v=Fcd5jEUvLZs. Thanks leave a comment.
This song reminds me of brother in war who sacrificed himself for us. His last words were 'I know what i am doing is sacrifing myself , but atleast im doing it for the U.S.A. ' this song really reminds me of him with such power. I love this song
@Hobinator17 wow... I have seen him play with Clapton on a couple of videos.. but I dint know they played together so often..:) Knofler wasn't a part of the Yard Birds, was he?
@rajatgilmour nope, knopfler wasnt a part of the group, he just toured a lot with clapton in the late 80' s when he decided to take a break from Dire Straits for a few years
the piano intro at 6:22 to 0:55 sounds almost exactly the same as the piano intro to Mark Knopfler's song Romeo and Juliet on the "On the Night" album, anybody else make that connection?
Does anyone else think that when he's stood playing out just before his 2nd solo near the end, he looks at Nathan East like he's sad to be signing about Layla, when they've just got divorced. Epic song.
I'd be speeding the tempo up as I watched my cig just burning out, so that I could take the last few drags before it became an ash rubble. All the kings of music are up there, so are the two queens on vocals. Gail Ann Dorsey should have been up there as well; not to undermine Nathan at all, but she's just a stunning bass player.
after the piano bridge to the "second song", clapton looks like hes just listening to the song on the radio or something. its amazing how effortlessly talented he truely is
@keanehgz he is king, I play like 2 eric clapton songs at my gigs layla and cocaine, and both times I spark a smoke and put it in the headstock, and I don't normally smoke. They say peer pressure is a bitch, I say idol pressure is more so !
This is the best. Every player is having a Great time. I don't know how you do it Eric. From what I understand this is a tribute to your true love. That's got to be hard on you. But in a sense, you seem to be laying your acceptance of it in the ending instumental.
Love it! Hope you are at peace with your ex. I feel sorry for her. But then I don't know the whole story.
Did Eric Clapton Smoke? Really? That's your Question? Better Question: How does Eric Clapton make a guitar act as if it's an extension of his own body?
Just for the Record, yes he smoked, no he doesn't smoke any longer, mostly because he has three young children, and is no longer a Heroin user.
the thing that blows my mind and what I wanna learn from this like mark knopfler, eric and his phrasing are unmatched, they might only move 2 maybe 3 positions in the scale of the key they are working in, but they phrase in such a way you just can't do man !
Why must every Clapton performance include black people? Honestly, it's sickening to say the least, it's not racist if a performance isn't full of niggers ffs!
i'm with MiuraUU on this one...even if you feel that way keep it to yourself...and by the way some of the best and most influential musicians were black..so i dont give a DAMN what color the ppl are playing ...i care about the MUSIC!!
