  • David Robinson in his prime was a more skilled version of Dwight Howard

  • MJ was renamed AIR because of his farts.

  • not.in.Mr.Robinson's.neighborhood!

  • type "soulja boy shoots" in the youtube search box to see soulja boy make a shot from half court.

  • Which pixel is Jordan in?

  • @shitswiper The Flying one

  • Yeah, Jordan got blocked from time to time, had the ball stolen, did turnovers, made bad shots from time to time. But SO WHAT? What he has done made him THE GREATEST PLAYER EVER TO PLAY THE GAME!!! lebron and kobe generation should get this into their heads... There WONT BE ANY OTHER PLAYER as big as JORDAN!

  • Robinson, Olajuwon, Shaq, Ewing, Eaton, Mutombo, Mourning, Manute, Nance, Rollins, etc... MJ's era was incredibly stacked w/ great shot blocking big men. None of which played for his team.

  • force of nature rejects freak of nature, saweet.

  • i think robinson had a better speech than jordan at the inductee ceremony, i didnt really believe jordan

  • @jdls12 Than you really don't know MJ dog, that's really the way he was on the court. His HOF speech obviously was'nt the most emotional, passionate or tearful speech, not by a long shot. You might not agree with all of MJ tactics, but one thing i'll say, he does'nt B.S or lie when it comes to being on the court, he really means exactly what he says. And yes the "ADMIRAL" had a more moving speech than MJ's, but MJ's speech was what he was about on the court, plain and simple.

  • the admiral shows whos boss

  • shocking...

  • OMG SOMEONE BLOCKED JORDAN SHOT! DON'T TELL THE JORDAN JOCK RIDERS OR THEY WILL CLAIM THAT IS A DOCTORED VIDEO CREATED BY KOBE JOCKERS!

  • lebron wudve tell nike to confiscate the video if he got block by david.

  • lebron travelled

  • David robinson was one of the great shot blockers of all time. Him, Hakeem, and Mutumbo

  • only the greatest can block on the greatest

  • :O robison is perverd

  • Only Dennis Rodman can block and reject Michael Jordan dunks. Woot

  • Kobe would never get owned like this. David Robinson was his bitch.

  • @MrTrojanRam if i remember correctly the pistons owned kobe with a sweep for the ring

  • unstoppable force meets an unmovable object

  • michael coulda hung in there but he was too hasty

  • well done with the Double Dribble pixel quality

  • Which pixel is Jordan?

  • damn it look how far jordan's hands are, that guy had some stupid ups.

  • I love "The Admiral." Robinson is a class act and one of the greatest centers to ever play the game.

  • @sdnm86 great grammar and punctuation

  • @sdnm86 SHAQ killed him

  • wow, i seven footer blocked jordan who is a half a foot shorter than him, mazal tov. what is actually cool about the video is how easily jordan flies past his initial defender.

  • @brur37 shut up, if mike dunked on robinson you'd probably be going crazy

  • Did you record this with a calculator?

  • @LakerGold24 a calculator with a comer??? where can i get one?!?!?!!!!

  • @LakerGold24 No creativity. This is probably the 500th time this comment was used on this video.

  • @Nintendo3DSHelp Awww u poor little nerd...

Now get back to your video games and animated gay porn.

  • @LakerGold24 If I was a nerd why would I even bother watching this video? Think Laker fan think? Also btw the Heats and the Mavericks are much more skilled than the Lakers.

  • Comment removed

  • @Nintendo3DSHelp really? is that why both teams only have 1 nba title btwn the 2? how many do the lakers have? 16? yea i thought so...

  • @TheNegrodamus89 LOL, that doesn't prove anything.

  • @Nintendo3DSHelp 1st time i heard it...and it was funny too...

  • @thetruthis9 If this was your first time seeing this comment. Then you will probably see a 100 times more in the future. That's how uncreative people are these days. -.-

  • @LakerGold24 No an HD Quality Papaya.

  • @LakerGold24 no shit.what did you expect. this vid is from 2007

  • @LakerGold24 its called the 80s stupid

  • DAAAAMMM!!! JORDAN WAS AT FULL SPEED AND EVEN GOT A LITTLE HOP GREAT BLOCK JUST GREAT BLOCK!!!

  • @the0juice nah, Doug Collins was speaking, means this was post 1989, so it's the 90's. jk. great vid.

  • @LakerGold24 He actually recorded it with a potato.

  • @LakerGold24 Good one. Haven't heard that one before...

  • @LakerGold24 want a better quality one??? call NBC and ask a copy

  • Comment removed

  • @LakerGold24 intentare escribir mejor estupido

  • @LakerGold24 I reckon he used microwave.

  • In NBA ,Everyone has the chance of been blocked

    ~include David Robinson~

  • i would say foul

  • @MrArsenalist clearly not one, you are allowed to jump straight up into their air with both arms extended as long as you do not bring your arms in a downward motion, the Admiral did just that.

  • question. how come on any and every Robinson video there is a there is a god damn troll talking about olajuwon and/or shaq? this video has absolutly nothing to do with either of them. stop being trolls if you want to talk about either of them go to one of there videos. give respect to the admiral. hes one of the best centers to ever play.

  • The Admiral!

  • @DeekF1 i did actually. i should have said to you, let me know if you ever picked up a ball and played at a good school...because if i had, you wouldn't have responded.

  • @DeekF1 out jumped? lol jordan had a full run and jump. robinson jumped flat footed. you need to actually pick up a ball and try it. also...how high to you want robinson to jump? you blocked the ball... some of you posters on youtube need to try playing and less posting.

  • the admiral was a great basketball player & athlete but was surprised to see in YT that arvydas sabonis dominated him in the 1988 olympics.

  • WOW! this video shows that even superheroes experience slight fail. =)))

btw, my dad told me that Jordan had his revenge. the next possession

  • @Anakin53Padme I believe he did. MJ got blocked quite a few times. More often than not he landed them squarely. The difference in this case is that Robinson was a pretty damn good athlete in his own right.

  • nice block robinsons

  • Who cares~?

MJ is still the best !

  • Magic Johnson said that during the 1992 dream team scrimmage MJ mad a 360 jam over robinson with amazing hang time. He said it was the best shot he ever wittnessed

  • @Jumpman1989 hahaha i was just watching espn homecoming, i think you were too :)

  • @everomarsanchez haha yeah I was :D

I wish we had video from that play

  • @Jumpman1989 sounded so awesome, didnt it?

  • @everomarsanchez awesome?! godlike i would say. I never saw MJ doing 360 in a game over any center in addition if we consider his sick hang time.......then its hard to imagine that play

  • Not many people can take Jordan,Robinson,Iverson...automatic legends!

  • @sadetwizelve Iverson, a legend?

  • we in san antonio were blessed and still are blessed to have MR ROBINSON here in san antonio. He is a great man outside of basketball. He contributes day in and day out.

  • i love robinson but whatta heck jordan is greatest of all time :D

  • Hakeem Olauwon is the best post play big man ever. He's also the best shot blocker ever. The admiral is not on level with Kareem (best overall big man ever), Wilt, Olajuwon, Shaq. He's the next best center man though.

  • @animebrawler david was just as good as hakeem. ...and he's better than shaq. shaq had no game.

  • just imagine, at one point there was tony,Manu, Tim, and robinson in the spurs!

  • @07thematrix thats the former CHAMPION SPURS.. they're tought those days. coz of ROBINSON's inside present.

  • that's air Jordan; even he got blocked he still looks good.

  • Some respect for the Admiral

  • David Robinson was an amazing player.his rivalry with Shaquille O'Neal was amazing during the Spurs-Laker saga.i will always remember that.

Robinson could actually shoot the ball, dats wat i will always remember.

  • The Admiral was one of the best defensive players of all time.

  • get thatt outa here hahaha

  • My 2 favorites of all time.

    both amazing players

  • Not many players can say they blocked him one day, the greatest of all time :).

  • Comment removed

  • RanKarat .......stop being a Jordan Jocker and give DRob his right due on this play. It was a good clean block on a PRIME MJ by the Admiral.

  • @FuShengAlex you right it was a clean block.i didn't notice it was before his first retirement .

  • jordan was ok, but if you ask me kobe is a far more talented player, and certainly the best of all time

  • @Freshestplaya1 hahaha kobe will never be as good as jordan... jordan better scorer.. and waaaay better mentally than everyone hee faced... for that jordan is considered a basketball god in human body... kobe is great, but is not invincible as jordan

  • @AFTepes ur right man, nice ideas

  • David Robinson was the Best Big Men other than Olajuwon and Chamberlin to play the Game...

  • Both players if you pause it at :11, are elbow length above the rim. That means, anyone you name today would have gotten their dunk blocked on this possession. David was very athletic back in the day. This year he averaged 5blks per game. Nobody is doing that now days.

  • @NBAGOATS... These days you're lucky to see a player average 3 blocks per game.

  • BEST BLOCK EVER

  • Robinson SHOULD have blocked that dunk......he's 7 foot and MJ's 6'6"......that's a given.

  • @daillmeskin math has nothing to do with this

  • @rcortez911 Well if you wanna get technical yeah it does. Robinson is 7ft. Jordan is 6'6". That's a difference of 6 inches. Robinson SHOULDA blocked him.

  • Robinson really needed this block on Jordan because he was absolutely posterized every game prior to this one! By the way I like both players and think they were part of the reason the game is the way it is today.

  • @alex9374 actually Jordan always had a hard time against Robinson due to his quickness and how explosive he was. Robinson was the quickest center during the 90's. dont believe me then look up the video Robinson blocks Jordan 8 times in 1 game. Just because he was Jordan it doesnt mean he owned every one every time they met.

  • @SAtownZ28 That file that he blocked him 8 times in one game is a great game for Robinson, but it would take me all day to refer you to all the videos of Jordan dunking on Robinson or stealing the ball from Robinson or blocking Robinson, so yeah, I think that comment that Robinson really needed this block was spot on...but that is just my take on things...too bad all we have to watch now is highly paid unproven hacks that only play part of the season! lol

  • @alex9374 im not trying to take anything away from Jordan because yea simples he is the GOAT, but really just that my uncle and cousin who have been season ticket holders since gervin played for the spurs told me that Jordan always had a hard time with robinson. robinson didnt always block jordan but would disrupt his shot alot because you never new which direction Robinson might possible come flying thru the air from.

  • Yeah SATownZ28....Good point. They also had the same problems with Olajuwon who also recorded 8 blocks in a game vs. them. Robinson and Olajuwon were different to the traditional Centers like Ewing, Zo Daugherty that they routinely put on the highlight reel back East. They were both had great agility and versatility on offence and defence. They were exceptional help defenders, shotblockers-alterers and great at getting steals.

  • robinson was 1 hell of a shot blocker... jordan: GET THAT SHIT OUTTA HERE!

  • no def 3 sec rule =(

  • Young 1995 Shaq destroyes them all

  • @YouGotJEWD BOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • shaq is the best who the hell is russel and chamberlain

  • This year Robinson averaged 5 blocks per game. That don't happen these days. WOW.

  • getting rejected by the admiral is nothing to be ashamed of.. even MJ is human after all.. still the best ever

  • You know the amazing part Jordan actually gets his hand over Robinsons. Robinson is 7'0 Jordan is 6'6

  • @Nickthegemini09 Very true

  • If you compliment jordan in this play then its obvious your a jordan dick rider

  • @1pacfan call me the ultimate MJ dick rider then cause 1 blocked shot is not greater than 1 NCAA title and 6 NBA Championships.

  • @Nickthegemini09 Yeah I noticed that to. Robinson was actually 7foot1 and look how high Jordan gets compared to robinson who appears to be jumping as high as he can from a stand still. It's crazy. Jordan could really fly.

  • @Nickthegemini09 Pretty impressive. In Robinson's defense, however, he's jumping more flat footed. Jordan has much more take off room and Robinson has to react more quickly in order to get this block.

  • @Nickthegemini09

    robinson is 7-1

  • @Nickthegemini09 nope youre wrong DR was 7'1 so the difference is bigger btwn the 2 of em

  • @Nickthegemini09 how is that, "amazing"? jordan is coming from a full run and jump - robinson turned and jumped straight up. ever play basketball before? lol

  • @Nickthegemini09 i just don't get this comment. it's not about jordan jumping SO high. it's about timing. so his hand was above robinson's... so. robinson timed his jump to block the ball - not to jump as high as possible.

  • no ones perfect in basketball but JORDAN is the best.

  • Not in my house!!!

  • get that corn outta my face

  • funny but MJ is 8-10 all time against Robinson

  • one of the rare people to have ever done the impossible...

  • ok if steve francis was anywhere near as good as jordan why does nearly 90% of the modern sportsnation never even heard of him?

  • You're just guessing that!! Everyone heard of him because he was the best!

  • YOU ARe dumb as fuck because Steve haven't accomplished one thing MJ did...MJ is the greatest!!

  • Because he was a BALLA in his prime but has gone bad

  • @hokiedude789 Franchise? he could play MEANNNNNNNNNNNN but never any where near MJ.......him and Baron Davis would go shot for shot similar games

  • @hokiedude789 cuz houston was a small city, wiht little media attention

  • nothing against steve francis great player...

angeredjudge - houston isnt a tiny city

if your playing in the NBA and doing as well as MJ did it doesnt matter what city u play for ur gonna get media attention and pobably make that city a lot bigger

  • @hokiedude789 ur right houston isn't a small city But for some odd reason they re always neglected by the league and media attention. This year the rockets got 0 televised games even tho they are above .500 team

  • @angeredjudge Simple. No Yao No Media.

  • i ouls say chamberlain but it was the early nba no real matches.. for me

    1. olajuwon

    2. robinson

    3. shaq

if you let me choose my center in my team, robinson will be my pick i love his style of playing

  • @cirexlab id probly choose them over shaq as well.............more versatile, athletic, range......and had real Pride in the defense.........

  • @cirexlab Agreed. I love Shaq but his all around game isn't as good as the rest of them. For his size he should have outrebounded everyone and he was one of the worst free throw shooters ever. He didn't have much of a game further than ten feet from the goal. Hakeem was an incredible defender. Centers should never have the number of steals he does. Same thing for Robinson, he had a game that was not limited to the paint and he didn't get a chance to play for a few years of his prime.

  • @cirexlab just remember that chamberlain didint have any great competition just bill russell.... and also they didnt had the 3 seconds rule ... so that's why I think that chamberlaiin shouldnt be the number one.. must be in the first 5 but not the best... imagine shaq olajuwon robinson or ewing without facing each other and without 3 seconds rule! i think shaq is the most dominant in th history... look what he did wit the rule and with the best competition like hakeem and david

  • @AFTepes no one has come close to chamberlain scoring record of 50 ppg, he has the 2 highest fg% in a season, and averaged a career rpg of about 22. They didn't count blocks when he played but if they did chamberlain and russel would be in the top 3. I have to put him in a tie with kareem as the best center of all time. He in my opinion was the most dominant player of all time.

  • @dwade3forMVP AGAIN! chamberlain and russell DIDNT HAVE THE 3 SECONDS INSIDE THE PAINT rule so he could be in the paint anytime they wanted to besides without other real competition just russell... so its unfair... hakeem david and shaq..they had each other as competition and also ewing,etc... and also the 3 secs rule in the paint...they should be outside far from the ring... if u erase that rule in the 90's who do you think will crash the nba? i think shaq would be more ferocious than wilt

  • @cirexlab a weak block kook look to me, and shaq dunks on robinson

  • @cirexlab there are tapes of chamberlain playing and actually they werent as bad as some people might think, including me, they were actually pretty good then here

  • @cirexlab David Robinson over Shaq? please...Please!

  • @IMStr8throwed you to take account them in there primes, there 2 different players. David could play any style and his biggest thing was out hustling other centers which is actually why he did well against shaq even after the injury. Shaq poses more of a threat from the half court point of view. David played the biggest part in the spurs beating the lakers. He guarded shaq and forced shaq to have to play hard on defense aswell. I would take the admiral in his prime aswell.

  • @Kdaddy61987 you're wrong, Shaq dominated Robinson as well as any other big he's faced. Let's get things straight, Duncan played the biggest part in beating the Lakers, not Robinson...If you want to get into head to head stats, we can do that, Robinson was never a match for Shaquille O'neal.

  • @IMStr8throwed how can you say shaq dominated when they had the same specs, when both came into the league automatically the there teams started contending for a title. Both centers dominated by akeem, both of them mvps. Also david robinson has scored more pts in a game, 71, hes 1 of 4 players to record a quatriple double and to add shaq had a far better team. I mean the spurs 2nd best player fo the admiral was dominque at the end of his career. Also when shaw first got to la the couldnt win.

  • @IMStr8throwed also im talking about in there primes, i mean come on kobe and shaq in there primes lose to duncan whos in his prime and when manu was starting to come into his own and robinson only played 1 more year after they beat the lakers. Obviously shaq was better at that point but im talking about them in there best 2-3 years of there career who would you take? Like if grant hill never got hurt how good you think he be? Or if dirk and steve stayed together in there primes? Hypotheitcals

  • @Kdaddy61987 they've played each other, with both being in their primes before with Shaq dominating. It's not like Robinson's 35 and Shaq's 19...It's pretty obvious you didn't watch when Shaq played for the Magic and Robinson was scoring 70 for the Spurs...Robinson didn't get hurt til he got older for the Spurs and Shaq destroyed him even then and before then.

  • @IMStr8throwed that was different, i saw 1 game and shaq dominated david but that doesnt mean that shaq was better. You dont know the circumstances. Could of been on the road and had 3 games in 5 nights or 4 games in 7. Like when the spurs lost both season games to the cavs the year they met in the playoffs. We all know how that went, got to give teams the ability to ajust and change philosophy and the way there apporaching a team. Shaq was a monster but i would take the admiral in his prime.

  • @Kdaddy61987 You don't know the circumstances either. When Shaq came in as a rookie, they couldn't believe how great he was and how bad he made David Robinson look. Because Robinson was great when he had the size and athleticism, but Shaq was even bigger and even a greater athlete. Let's get things straight, Tim Duncan was the best player on the planet, that's why Robinson got his ring. Admiral's post game in the paint wasn't nearly as good as Shaq, nor did you see Olajuwon abuse Shaq either

  • @IMStr8throwed i acutally saw akeem destroy shaq, ewing and robinson but to me akeem was the best player to ever play the game so well keep him out of the conversation. Also who was named mvp early in there career? Oh thats right robinson was mvp not shaq, also shaqs team was alot better the davids. Also note 1992-93 season david won both games against the magic and averaged 26.5 pts and 11.5 rebounds. The 93-94 season david won both games again and averaged 29.5pts and 12 rebounds a game vs shaq

  • @Kdaddy61987 Shaq and Olajuwon was always an even matchup....Oh numbers now?....how about you put up Shaq's numbers as well... Shaq had a better team? you're nuts, admit it, you hate Shaq. A young Kobe was better than Tim Duncan in his prime is that what you're saying?

  • @IMStr8throwed not sure what your getting at and yeah i think dennis scott was a better version of sean elliot and horace grat was a solid pf and penny at the time was going to be a sure hof. Shaq also had scott skiles for a little bit who was a little overrated but still better then avery johson. Also i just went to nba.com looked up david robinson game log so you havent done your research. I remember shaq being a monster too but i also remember how well rounded david was so yes david still bet

  • @Kdaddy61987 as a matter of fact, I don't even remember Magic losing to Spurs...show me the link to where you found that information.

  • @IMStr8throwed Akeem made shaq look silly which in tern shaq said he wanted to be as good as akeem one day after the magic lost to them in the finals. Its a nba.tv commercial now. Also i like shaq but the bread is in the pudding, you can see the different problems each cneter brings and what they bring to the table. Shaq was the worst ft shooter of the bunch and had no great moves outside of 10 feet. top 5 centers of all time to me 1-akeem 2-robinson 3-shaq 4-ewing 5-wilt

  • @Kdaddy61987 how can u make a list with no kareem

  • @blockburner1 i would have akeem 5 or 6 as best ever. I kind of look at his play and say thats amazing but he struggled when he had to be the man sometimes. He played with oscar robinson and when he went to la they struggled till they got magic, when ewing, robinson, akeem and shaq all came to there team they instantly became teams competing for a title. Ewing struggled the first few years but i got to see him play more, most of jabbars game ive seen is when hes older so i dont have the best view

  • @blockburner1 i meant kareem 5 or 6

  • @cirexlab Olajuwon hands down.

  • olajuwon and robinson are the 2 best centers of all time, chamberlain was good but he played against way shorter centers thats why he dominated that much =)

  • Robinson is the only 7 footer piano man id ever known.

  • Robinson was good. But I can name you ten centers that are better.

  • Give 10 centers that was better than Robinson

Im guessing u weren't alive during the '95 season.

27 PPG 10 RPG 3 BPG 1 SPG...give me another center not named Olajuwon that put up those stats as a center

you think Dwight Howard was athletic? Robinson would own Dwight Howard

  • I'm 32 years old, I've see Robinson's entire career. Chamberlain averaged 30 points, 25 rebounds for an entire career.

  • thought chamberlain averaged 25 rebounds one season ? the season he dropped 100

  • And other than a young Shaq, Robinson was probably the most mobile 7 footer ever...dude was the fastest end to end 7 ft center i've ever seen...

You probably only saw Robinson from 2000 onwards with Duncan

  • @oneman91 thank you. People always say shaq would just own Robinson but they only look at and compare his last 3 years in the NBA. Thats when he was having Back Spasms.

  • haha yea and that's only 1..i asked u to name me 10

Robinson is a top ten center..and u said you've seen him, so idk what you're talking about

  • Can you imagine how great Robinson's career woulda been if: 1) He hadn't spent 6 years in college all 4 years then 2 in the NAVY 2) He hadn't hurt his back during his prime 3) He didn't have to defer to Tim Duncan for the last 5 years of his career. He still retired with 21 ppg 10.5 rpg 3 bpg 2.5 asp 1.5 spg 29th points 29th rebounds 5th blocks 4th PER That's pretty good for having your career cut short. Just Saying.
  • @StoneThrowingDevil in my opinion he is one of the 5 best centers of all time. WILT, Olajowan, Shaq, Jabar and Robinson
